V8 offers a bunch of nice enhancements and performance increases for me I noticed things were smoother and seemed more responsive in general. Also it offers a bunch of customization options depending on how aggressive or conservative you want the tweaks it applies to be. In addition I hear it's been made compatible with a ton of devices. Overall I'd recommend checking it out, as always just make a backup before trying it, that way if you do run into issues you can easily undo any changes the script made.

[APP] RAM Manager v2.0.4 | PLAY GTA 3 AND OTHER HEAVY GAMES WITHOUT LAGS

RAM MANAGER
IT IS NOT MY WORK, all credits goes to Juwe11
COMPATIBLE WITH ICE CREAM SANDWICH
REQUIREMENTS
Android 2.1+
Root
SUPPORTED DEVICES
All Android devices which have RAM 64+ (and more)MB
ABOUT
This application was made for making RAM of all android phone to the best optimization. This application improves perfomance of your phone in all directions. Switching between applications is very fast, your system will be smoothness as never before. You can fully use your multitasking and you still have as much memory as you need.
FEATURES
Balance - Option which makes your RAM to the best optimization, this option is for everyday using when you use your phone for the most functions and you want have fast phone without lags.
Balance (with more free memory) - This option is on the same base as balance, but this option should be advantageous for users who have less RAM than 512 MB. This option makes your RAM to the best optimization with more free memory but with a bit less multitasking.
Balance (with more multitasking) - This option is on the same base as balance, but this option should be advantageous for users who have more RAM than 512 MB. This option gives you more multitasking.
Hard Gaming - Option which stabilizes your RAM for playing the hardest games. Use this option for games which lags on your phone. Your games will be smoothness and without lags. Play GTA 3 and other heavy games without lags.
Hard Multitasking - Option for users which are really hard working on their phones. You can have a lot of running apps with fast switching between them and without lags.
Default (Samsung) - Default settings by Samsung, this settings also use phones as LG, HTC, etc.
Default (Nexus S) - Default settings which use all Google phone.
Default -This option reverts your RAM to your default settings, which you had before you install this app.
All Balance options include additional option "Non-killable launcher".
Chosen option is automatically set on each reboot.
You can easily switch between all options without rebooting.
WHY USE THIS APP
This application is the best solution for all who have problem with free memory, with multitasking, with slow swapping between applications or with slow speed of your phone. But I recommend to use this application all who want have better phone, because this application increase speed of your phone and other parameters which depend on RAM as much as never before.
WHAT THIS APP AFFECTS
OOM_ADJ (Out of memory)
Every process has value which gives the kernel a hint, which process it can kill in an OOM (out of memory) situation.
LMK (Lowmemorykiller)
Works with your applications in memory. It affects your multitasking and free memory. But Android works with memory differently than you may be accustomed. Android needs to have running applications in foreground because of fast switching between your applications. It means that it's not good if you have too much more free memory. Your system gives you so much memory as you need.
VM (Virtual Machine)
Works with file cache, amount of data, dirty data in memory. We managed them by setting the SWP(swappiness), VCP(vfs_cache pressure), DEC(dirty expire centisecs), DWC(drity writeback centisecs), DRA(dirty ratio), DBR(dirty background ratio) and drop caches and we found the best optimization of these values to make several option for different using your phone. Basically it controls in general whole system speed, speed of launching applications, browsing files, switching speed through applications, overall process of the application and battery endurance.
DO NOT USE RAM SCRIPTS AND TWEAKS
If you want be really sure that application works, I recommend do not use some RAM script and tweaks. I tested application with RAM script and it worked, but if you want be really sure, do not use those RAM script and tweaks.
FREE VERSION
Free version will have only Balance option.

Xperia S ICS Problems

Do anybody know how to solve these ICS issues on Sony stock ICS ROM without flashing custom ROM?
- Very laggy
- Call loud speaker volume very low after upgrading from GB to ICS.
- Data speed reduced significantly.
- Read write speed reduced significantoh as well.
- Call disconnect more frequently.
- Graphics n benchmark score do improve but UI is much more laggy in comparison to GB.
- App crash n FC more oftenly.
- Battery drain much quicker in comparison to GB in same scenario n conditions.
- Everything became much more jorky, slow n laggy.

Actually I also compare with htc sensation xe which has the exact hardware as lt26i, but less ram.

I haven't experience much lag, and for me, to be honest, .50 firmware is much faster than my GB firmware.
If your phone is rooted you can edit/tweak your build prop. Try custom ROM if you want.

My phone is already rooted n
- CPU overclocked to 1728 GHz
- Keep GPU rendering enabled
- Used speed up scripts
- Used touchscreen booster
- Used network speed booster
- Set eMMC cache size to 3072 KB
- With around 350 apps installed
- With 7 IMs running
- With 3 task killers running
- 2 out of 3 task killers used for auto kill
- 5 widgets
- All 5 homescreens r full
My fd's Sensation XE has even more apps n widgets than me, less RAM, but strangely it's still extremely smooth like when it was new...

Never use Task Killer, uninstall it, it causes problems. I have task killers before, and I can tell you it's not helping your phone.
I'm only using OC for games (XSX Kernel v5 smoothest Kernel for me)
Reduce your widgets
again, NEVER use Task Killer http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=27560775
Do a fresh install. Wipe data too of 2.50 firmware. Just exclude kernel in FlashTool. Make sure you're cpu Governors are 'on demand' mine are set from 84- 1620 and is very smooth and fast.
Don't **** about with scripts and boosters and task killers. And don't overclock too much as your cpu might not like it and cause reboots

[MOD] [JB] Pimp my ROM compatible tweaks

I'm making this because the Pimp my ROM app works pretty well on our devices but some tweaks cause boot loops and brick the device or just slow down the device. These are the working tweaks:
Ext4 file-system tweaks
Camera Quality tweaks
JPG images quality
Quick power on (Works great)
Disable android logger - As it states, only use if you don't need logcats!
Optimize sqlite3 database
*Still testing.
Note: These tweaks are being tested on a US device with the Mercurius kernel.
Sent from my YP-G70 using xda app-developers app
Non Compatible/Not recommended tweaks:
Disable Vsync - Adds lag to the launcher/overheats device/drains battery
Turning on surface dithering - Slows the device and makes no difference to the screen quality
Lock launcher in memory - Solves redraws but also slows the device down a lot and causes reboots.
Internal/External SD-card I/O tweaks - caused boot loops for me. If anyone can confirm please do.
Any telephony tweaks
Any Dalvik VM (Unless you know what your doing!)
Multitasking - I recommend you leave this alone. Its already set for what our device can handle. It can cause ram issues.
Faster media streaming - Caused a lot of errors saying I couldn't play videos in browser. You can try for yourself to see if it works. Its easy to disable and pretty safe.
Entropy generator - AVOID THIS. Causes the device to not boot at all tweaks. Requires a reflash of the ROM and factory reset.

Odp: [MOD] [JB] Pimp my ROM compatible tweaks
It should rather be in apps thread
I recommend not tobuse such a software, especially with my with my kernel.
What does ext4 and startup tweaks accually do?
Send from sg wifi5.0 with mine kernel
Ext4 tweaks speed up the UI by enabling data_writeback. Not much of a difference but its sort of noticeable. The startup tweak enables an unused setting (hw_quickpoweron) and decreases the boot time by like 5-10 seconds. Haven't had any adverse effects so far.
And yeah I don't recommend using all tweaks at once/abusing them. I'll try combinations to see what is safe.
Sent from my YP-G70 using xda app-developers app
Does anyone know what tweaks are working on gingerbread?
Sent from my ZX Spectrum
I can test them later. Most of these should work though. There are a few for 4.x and up but they are labeled in the app.
Sent from my YP-G70 using xda app-developers app
Hardware Acceleration is disabled? Doesn't it work with Jelly Bean ROMs...?
Yeah I never got that. I just leave it unchecked because its already defaulted on for us. It might be for ICS devices and forces every app to use HW acceleration.
Sent from my YP-G70 using xda app-developers app
Oh alright, I'll do that too then.

Sometimes when you stop recording the app yust crashes and sometimes it dosent save it i am curently trying to fix it new version will be out soon
EDIT:It was the kernel after all, you need to flash the 720p version the down side is that it uses more ram
New version relesed!
This is the best performance ICS rom I've seen for ages!!!!! I can play GTA San Andreas with no FC unlike other roms
Look at those posts on the SA thread here and here to see my review
Also it has a lot of internal space as shown in tthe OP, but for some reason I didn't have that much fre RAM. Anyway rom is smooth as butter. Trubo mode is good for heavy game, but it ruins multitasking, so don't activate it unless you need it.
Rom is awesome, but it will be better if you add some little features which we are really used to:
- notification toggles
- reboot options and screenshot by power button longpress (maybe with xposed framework module)
- battery percentage icon
Camera recording has an autofocus bug. It continously zooms in and out for some reason
This review was done in base of v1 with 720p Lupus ICS beta. Will try the v1.1 ASAP

You have les ram because of 720p kernel version which uses more ram than 480p where video recording dosent work
The notification toggles is something I wanted to add but ot uses 50mb of ram which is alot (i could make a addon zip for it)
The reboot and screenshot will be aded as soon as i learn how to do it without xposed framework and battery percentage is something i will look in to
I have noticeed that the camera can be buggy i will try to fix it as soon as i can.

I know the 720p kernel uses more ram, but its not too much (~20 mb). I mean the sreenshot in OP has 225mb free ram and I only get 150-180 mb free.

i was using this rom as my daily driver for today
bugs:
1-some ui lags that they are all related to ***** android 4.0.3 beta (i think its better to update your rom with a new version like 4.1.b.13)
2-some soft reboots due to my heavy usage(its ok to have this problem. i only had it in gta san andreas that is a very heavy game.)
anything else seems to be fine
but i don't understand why you removed calculator (because it doesn't eat any ram)

add custom partition to it like the one that wedgess made for his lupus kernel

Tweak Android Devices to Faster and Free More RAM with This Mod For GB,JB,ICE,KK

What Is This??
If you got a good phone, it should have good specs. However, sometimes we do not get the performance we expect from our devices and in most cases it is due to faulty configuration of how hardware resources are used or the way the user uses a device.
We all expect good performance and battery life from the smartphone or tablets device we use. And if you think you are not getting that with the default settings of your device, there are ways to make it perform better in terms of speed, faster response, reduced lag and better battery efficiency. Thanks to the brilliant developer community we have as Android users that there are always some or other solutions to fix such things.
If you experience lag on your phone and think it’s not performing decently, you should give a try to the YoPro-Script mod by ShivaY. The mod targets various issues that usually concern users. It fixes low RAM issue, improves battery performance, reduces lag, adjusts CPU and GPU frequencies to the optimum, and so on. Below is a detailed list of things the script works its magic on:
Prevent Leaked RAM/system memory
Makes performance smoother
Lag fix
Better battery life
Balanced mod (gaming & multitask)
Net optimizer (responsive surfing)
Seeder (increases Entropy to reduce lag)
GPU Rendering (HW 3D force enable)
I/O Database Optimizer (SIO/Deadline : auto set. if there sio, sio will enable..if no, deadline will enable)
Storage Speed/Write Optimizer
CPU Governor Optimizer (Smartass/Hotplug/On-demand: auto set, if there Smartass, martass will enable.. if no, hotplug or on-demand will enable)
Touch responsive
Zipalign at boot (reduce footprint & optimized RAM usage)
Sound noise fixer
More…
Download YoPro-Script
YoPro-Script_v2.6_GB_JB_ICS_KK.Zip
Requirements
YoPro-Script mod has been tested and found working on a range of Android devices including the Nexus 5, Xperia Play, Huawei Honor, Galaxy Note 3 (with CM11), Galaxy Star, etc. The mod works on all Android devices running Gingerbread, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean and KitKat. Needless to say, you must have root access and a custom recovery (CWM/TWRP) to flash it. You also need to install the latest BusyBox. And yes, make sure you are not using any other custom scripts already. Another thing, we highly recommend you try it on a custom ROMs with init.d support.
How to Install
Download the mod file in zip from above and copy it to your phone.
Reboot your phone in recovery mode.
Make a nandroid backup first.
Then install the .Zip file and reboot device.
Thanks
