[Q][SOLVED][CAN USE FOR UNBRICK] How I can unlock fastboot? - Huawei MediaPad, T-Mobile SpringBoard

Good day! Sorry for my English.
I'm flash MTS firmware and my Mediapad now with locked fastboot.
I tried to flash official firware from Huawei site.
I put folder dload with update.zip and unlmt.cfg in root of sdcard and start flashing.
After this I saw yellow android and message something "Syncronize bla-bla-bla" (this message was some seconds)
Then came message to reboot.
After reboot I saw: "Image verify failed! Please update to the authorized image."
I tried to flash many official and unofficial firmwares, but get one result - "Image verify failed! Please update to the authorized image." I used sdcards 2,8,32 gb
If I press Power and Volume+ I get this message.
If I press Power and Volume- I get locked fastboot.
Also this message came if no sdcard in device.
I can't flash other recovery, because fastboot is locked
I can't boot system and use my device.
Help please.
Solved
1. Attach device to Linux computer via USB
2. Press both volume keys about 30 seconds

Solved. See end of first post.
This method can use for unbrick.

I'm still new to springboard/mediapad but if this really allows raw flash access the method should be in an unbricking guide or developer FAQ!!!

Can you explain in greater detail the step flashing in linux, I tried to use ubuntu. but I do not understand using the dd command.
I've come to the step $ fdisk-l
and the device is read as / dev/sdc2
please explain the next step ...
whether the file "update.zip" should be extracted in the folder "home" when running the dd command?

I have root and recovery on my ascend Ascend D1 (u9500) (NOT Quad!)
First i followed steps 1-7 here:
[not allowed to post link since i have to few posts]
ht tp : / / johnnyparanoia.blogspot . se/2012/06/how-to-root-huawei-ascend-p1-u9200.html
In step one i chose ("just the tools...")
To get ClockWorkMod Recovery i had to experiment a bit. Note that i believe that using CWM might hinder the possibilities to install official updates from Huawei.
How i did i wrote in a comment to the blog post previously mentioned.
I managed to install recovery (ClockWorkMod Recovery v5.8.4.5) after a lot of messing around.
First i installed Android Control (to c:\AndroidControl)
I downloaded cwm_touch_recovery_viva_beta.img and put it in c:\AndroidControl
Then i went into the phones download mode (or whatever it is called) by:
a: Turning off phone and wait a while
b: Hold Volume down and connect usb cable from computer
Now a new device shows up called Blaze. No driver could be identified. (in W7x64)
I Selected it in Device Manager and forced it to use "Android adapter ADB Interface" (I selected: Update driver software / Browse my computer... / Let me pick from a list... / Mobile phone (I think it was) / Android adapter ADB Interface).
I had the driver availible there. This might be from installing HiSuite earlier.
Now i started the command prompt (cmd) and went to c:\AndroidControl.
Then i ran the commands:
"fastboot devices" (to confirm that the device was identified. If no device is found an error will be thrown.)
"fastboot flash recovery cwm_touch_recovery_viva_beta.img"
"fastboot reboot"
Baseband version is: "IMC1202_20120620_PENTA"
Kernel version is: 3.0.8-00028-gf1d0793 [email protected] #1
Build number is: U9500-1V100R001C00B215
Kurbits!
Actually I did tried hard to follow your steps but it dostn't work. Luckily, after a long day trying i'm now successfully got my D1 a CWM (ClockWorkMod Recovery v5.8.4.5).
However, still i can't ROOT it, i've been tried the UnlockRoot but no chance. Can you tell me how you have it ROOTED?
I plan to flash an international version but the process always aborted. Is there any trick to do it? The CWM always look for UPDATE.ZIP while the firmware that I've downloaded has only UPDATE.APP
Do you have any suggestions on how this can be accomplished?
Thanks!

Where does it go wrong? I´ll qoute the steps for reference only.
The url referred in step one is: h ttp://w ww.mediafire.com/?7pdfh11ue8ykyk6
Step 1 - Download ...just the tools here - b113 b115 root u9200[Nixing] Tools Only and extract to your desktop.
Step 2 - Enable USB debugging on your phone - Settings -> Developer options -> USB debugging and plug it into your PC
Step 3 - Run hwadb.exe and let it finish.
Step 4 - Run ubl.exe and wait for it to finish.
Step 5 - Disconnect your phone from your PC and Reboot.
Step 6 - Check to see if Superuser has been installed on your phone.
Step 7 - If you find Superuser in your menu, Congratulations your phone is rooted

I got it to work without problem. If you can specify where it goes wrong could you post a screenshot of what happens or be more specific about which step that does not seem to work.
Kurbits!
Thanks for the reply. I've successfully rooted it now but not with the steps in the URL u provided. What I did was tried to fix the permission and root it via CWM.
Anyway, what I really wanna do now is to flash it with international firmware offered in Huawei download page for D1. But the thing is that the firmware is come with UPDATE.APP instead of UPDATE.ZIP and I did try to rename it but no chance, always aborted.
Do you have any idea how to get it done?
Cheers
J

the automated process from this thread did not work on my D1, but this manual process did:
download mempodroid and su from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21756513&postcount=1
follow all instructions in that post up to the mempodroid command (1st 4)
execute mempodroid with these args instead (copied from the ubl.exe tool posted by the OP)
Code:
./mempodroid 0xd734 0xad9f sh
execute the rest of the commands from the mempodroid root post (up to the adb reboot)
Hey did you try the Bin4ry method? its so simple and took me seconds to root!
I am on the quad but im sure it should work through this restore method!

Reflashing U9500 to stock / Upgrading HUAWEI firmware
I have been searching these and other forums for a while trying to determine how to (a) update my CWM & rooted U9500 to the newest huawei build (221), and (b) return the phone entirely to stock (remove root & CWM). The main issue with either is that with CWM installed I couldn't figure out how to install Huawei's firmware UPDATE.APP files retrieved from their website. Here's how I got that to work:
I used the current firmware from Huawei: U9500-1,Android 4.0,V100R001C00B221,General Version (I can't post links)
Extract the HUAWEI zip and copy the dload folder (containing UPDATE.APP) to a micro sd card
Download split_updata.pl & crc binary from modaco.com forum (google "Repacking UPDATA.APP")
Run the split_updata.pl script with the path to UPDATE.APP as a command line argument. It should extract a bunch of unknown files to the output directory.
unknown_file.7 (should be 5697536 bytes) is the official recovery partition. This is what you will replace CWM with. You can rename it to recovery.img, or just use the created filename when flashing.
Boot phone in download mode:
* Power off
* Hold POWER & VOLUME DOWN buttons
* Release both when Huawei logo appears
* Phone should not continue booting or enter CWM
Run fastboot devices and make sure something is listed (mine only printed a bunch of question marks, but it worked fine)
Run fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Run fastboot reboot
After the phone boots up normally, go to settings -> storage -> software upgrade -> sd card upgade and click confirm.
This will reboot into the official recovery image and start the upgrade process. This will also remove CWM, root/superuser, and any other changes to the OS you have made.
If you were just looking to upgrade, you can reflash CWM and/or root the phone again. If you were looking to return to stock, you can then reboot into Android and run the factory reset option.

You need to correctly install the drivers for both adb and fastboot.
It would be a nightmare on a 64bit Windows system, but it's quite easy on Linux/MacOS systems.

[Q]Failed scanning partitions error while flashing recovery through terminal emulator

Hey sorry but I am posting this because even after a lot of research I couldn't find a proper solution to this problem....
I am on twrp recovery version 2.1.3 and to upgrade to 2.5.0.0 I used the goo.im app but even after the message showing that recovery was flashed successfully, when I reboot into recovery I still see the 2.1.3 twrp only....
So I tried flashing it with terminal emulator but it didn't work..... This error shows up every time....
failed scanning partitions failed with error : - 1
I tried putting the .img file in the root folder as well but it didn't work.... I tried naming the root of sdcard as storage/emulated/legacy, storage/emulated/0, /sdcard, etc but it keeps on giving this error every single time!
Nowhere could I find a solution for this problem so please please PLEASE! HELP!

Hi,
You may be able to wipe your tears .This worked for me on the Huawei Ascend y300 which was rooted and had its bootloader unlocked first. Since I got a similar error to you using flash_image these steps might work for you too:
disconnect usb cable from phone
Boot into the bootloader mode (usually power and volume down).
reattach usb cable to phone
Download fastboot
get a dos prompt
navigate to the fastboot directory
do these commands followed by pressing enter:
fastboot devices
(your device should be listed)
copy and paste your recovery.img into the fastboot folder in windows.
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot reboot.
Now make sure your phone boots normally.
Now power it off. Hold down volume up while pressing power, it should put you in your custom recovery.
Keiichicom.

[Q] Lenovo P780 Boot loop help pls!

Hi all.
I guess I am in deep trouble.
I have a Lenovo P780 (chinese base rom) 4gb version. Rooted it and installed with CWM recovery for P780. Installed Muse UI 3.0 custom rom from custom recovery via sd card. Swapped the internal SD with External SD card by editing the vold.fstab and vold.fstab.nand also.
However, I realised that there are a lot of bloatwares that took up the RAM and started uninstalling chinese apps that seems to come with the custom rom from system. However, when I restarted the phone, its now unable to boot beyond the 1st boot screen. (Boot loop)
Current state of the phone now:
1. Able to enter custom recovery mode, but menu is blank except for the navigation commands. (return, up, down, confirm)
2. Able to enter adb only when the phone is in custom recovery mode.
3. Able to connect to PC (Windows 7 64bit). Mediatek MT6589 usb drivers installed. Many versions of sp flash tools installed and tried.
4. Can't seem to enter fastboot for this phone. (Tried many key combinations. Only Meta mode, recovery mode and factory mode are found)
Things I had tried:
1. Flashing stock rom.
I had downloaded the stock roms and tried flashing with sp flash tools, but I always encounter the following errors. Had also tried switching to another windows XP based pc and still encounter these errors.
(a) Firmware -> upgrade. Tried Auto Format Flash also and it returns with the same errors.
- BROM ERROR: S_FT_FORMAT_FAILED (4010)
Format flash error. Possibly given wrong format range. Please check your format settings.
(b) Download (all img boxes checked)
- BROM ERROR: S_FT_DOWNLOAD_FAIL (4008)
Download to flash fail!
(c) Download (only one img checkbox ticked, tried system.img and recovery.img)
- - BROM ERROR: S_FT_DOWNLOAD_FAIL (4008)
Download to flash fail!
2. Flashing recovery from adb terminal via windows and usb connection
When I put the phone to the custom recovery (with missing menu options), the adb terminal is able to recognise the phone and returns the following after the command 'adb devices':
0123456789ABCDEF recovery
Upon entering the shell via 'adb shell', I am given the # sign. (already in SU mode?)
Tried to flash a recovery image from this mode via terminal command flash_image, but encounters the following problems:
(a) unable to mount/remount
- mount -o remount rw /system
mount: mounting rw on /system failed: Invalid argument
chmod 777 /system/flash_image
# flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img
no response from the terminal after this command.
I had tried and tried these for more than a week after work, but had not been successful in reviving this phone. Appreciate if anyone can assist me as I had ran out of ideas already.... Please assist me in reviving this good phone. Many Thanks!

Yep. Tried using several versions of the drivers downloaded from different places and used USBDeview to remove/reinstall them. The error still comes back and haunt me.

No luck.... formatting is not working in sp flash tool (4010 error) and the preloader in the thread is not for my phone.....

have you use google my brother ? google is our true friend.
but i glad if i can help you:angel:
you can visit this for factory rom
or you can visit lenovo forum
or you can go to needrom
Yeah. Google had been my fren, but no more after googling for 2 weeks without a solution. Trust me. I had looked thru most solutions found in google and had tried without any success before I post here.
All those stock roms of all release numbers I had already tried as mentioned above, with sp flash tools (tried many versions of that also.) ALL attempts are stucked with the errors mentioned above. The sp flashtool simply just fills the red status bar, and stopped with one of the errors in my 1st post.
I've even checked the chinese forums. My situation seems to be this:
The partition table of the flash memory had been reformatted thanks to the custom rom flashed via sd card. That's why it always returns a format flash error when I attempt to flash back to the stock rom which uses a different format range using sp flash tools. The only way out is to do a clean format of the flash memory. But I haven't find a way to do that via sp flash tool or mtk droid tool.
My only recourse is on of the following:
1. If I can restore the custom recovery (via adb in recovery mode(no fastboot) or meta mode) and make it workable to do another sd card flash with a custom rom. I have no idea why the options in my custom recovery went missing. It was working before I flashed the custom rom. I guess that accursed rom somehow erased my custom recovery during boot.
2. If I can somehow be able to do a complete flash format with the correct format parameters using some tools. Sp flash tools had failed me so far.
Anyone is able to help in these directions? Many thanks....
The sp flash tool log also have this line when I searched for 'Errors'
FlashTool[2684][8556][DEBUG]: ERROR: OperationIndicator::QueryDADLHint(): da_dl_type(??) error, could not find DA download hint!(.\OperationIndicator.cpp,98)
anyone can help......?

Already tried this. I had tried on 2 pcs. Windows 7 and windows xp (no digital signature). Same errors occur in both pcs. I really don't know what is going on with this phone. Nothing seems to work.
PS: Have been running the program as administrator all along also.
Sent to a phone repair shop and its at worst state than before now. Unable to power on. Connecting phone to computer and tried using sp flashtool now gives 4032 error (Enable Dram failed).
Any hope with reviving this phone now?

Hi, first, do you have SP Flash Tool installed on your PC and have the drivers installed? If yes, download the stock ROM of your choice from here and flash it with via SP Flash Tool, and your phone should be revived.
Flashing methods are clearly stated in case if you don't know how to do it.

[Q] Asus me302kl stuck at logo - memo pad fhd 10 LTE

I tried to root my me302kl by following the first post described in this thread, but it seems I've bricked my tablet
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2601837
I have the LTE version, unlocked the bootloader using the apk from Asus, and followed the fastboot method in the first post, and now I'm stuck at the Asus logo on startup. I'm trying to factory reset by using the update download from the Asus website, but when i try
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase system
fastboot flash update US_ME302C-V4.7.3-0-ota-user.zip
it fails with this:
writing 'update'...
FAILED (remote: partition table doesn't exist)
Then I tried following perpe's advice but both methods did not work
Download the update zip for your device and sku from ASUS. Unpack it once, there should be a second zip, try to flash it with
fastboot update name-of-your.zip
if this doesn't wotk, then copy the update zip to an external sd card. Your sd card should be formated in far32. Place the card into the tablets sd card. Press Volume UP + Power to boot it into the bootloader, it should flash it automatically, if not look if yor bootloader has a menu entry "sd download..." select it with the volume keys and power.

When booting into recovery mode, I get the dead android robot icon, regardless of whether the .zip file is on the SD card or not. I've also tried making a system.img file out of the system folder from the extracted zip file and flashing that with fastboot flash system system.img and fastboot flash boot boot.img, but that didn't work either.
Any kind soul have advice on how to make use of the official Asus OTA .zip file, or perhaps be able to supply some .img backups for me to make use of?
EDIT
Found out that to get the recovery menu to show up, you have to hold the power button and press volume up. I thought that the menu would show up automatically so I got confused. ADB sideloaded the Asus OTA .zip and everything is back to normal

download the OTA zip from the asus website
unzip once, you should have another zip
power on the tablet while holding volume up to boot into recovery mode
after the android robot shows up, hold volume up and press the power button to get the recovery menu to show
install the zip using adb sideload
using adb sideload will differ depending on what OS you're using. you can google to find out more specific instructions for that because it's a little more work to get it for windows. for OSX if you have homebrew, you can just 'brew install android' and it will install all the android tools for you.
once you have adb installed, in the terminal type 'adb sideload pathname_of_zip.zip' and it will restore your device to factory settings
I had the same problem and your trick saved me from sending it back. I am not sure if i would have send it back as I have yet to brick something since I am playing with android back in the days of Viewsonic gtablet. We are stuck with 4.2.

You have to download adb or android sdk, or google how to install adb. Once you have installed the adb, hold the power button, and either Volume UP or down to put tablet into bootlfash recovery mode. Once you have it in recovery mode, push volume up or down to get into true recovery mode.
There you would see adb sideload.
Download US or WWW files from Asus website, and unzip the file into ADB directory or whatever path. then type adb sideload name of the file.
Please read the 1st post by OP on this thread twice or three times, and it tells you how to get your tablet back from brink.

Got it. Done! the tablet is running again, but I encounter another issue
I have no permission to write internal sd.
I cant touch internal, some apps that require writing don't work (play store, camera, etc) I cant root, unlock or do anything that require w permissions.
Any way to fix that?
Or I have to wait for a CWM and rom image ?

You can download king's root or something which is a window app, and it does give your tablet root. I am not exactly sure about the name, but would let you know once I have access to my laptop.

ZTE BLADE V9 AntiBrick

This is an guide for when you bricked your ZTE Blade V9, or you destroyed OS without being able to flash with recovery mode(go to step 9).
There are some hacked webservers with articles and shady downloadlinks about this topic, use brain.
I think it can work with an locked oem, because i locked it at some piont earlier.
If your phone isnt showing up as device, give it 1-2 minutes.
Your Phone works even when its showing a black screen.
You do that on your own risk, Iam no ZTE developer.
1. Read the guide, know what you are doing.
2. Download "ZTE Terminal Software", "adb, fastboot, emmc", "ZTE drivers", Stock Rom (update.zip).
Also some "aboot" chinese-factory-testing-firmware which at least gets the phone booting (emmc_appsboot.mbn) from unofficialtwrp at page zte-blade-v9-twrp-3-2-root.
3. Prepare you stock system.img file from the stock rom to flash later. Get an dat to img converter (I used sdat2img.py [email protected]) and extract the img. Rename it to system.img.
4. Boot phone in download mode, the display may be dark but its there ... depends on your damage. Power + Vol- (If it wont work, try starting it normally)
5. Run PortManager from Terminal Software.
6. See COM4(DIAG) -> if anything other adjust drivers in Device Manager. "ZTE 3G Phone AT" should be the right one. There are also some Qualcomm usb drivers which work.
7. Select Port from PortManager as LINE1 USB in "ZTE Terminal Software".
You should now see COM3(DIAG) in ZTE Terminal Software.
8. Use emmcdl on COM3 to flash. Exclude recovery if you have a working/modded one.
I used the original recovery from the stock rom. (emmcdl -p COM3 -f prog_emmc_firehose_SDM450.mbn -b aboot emmc_appsboot.mbn & emmcdl -p COM3 -f prog_emmc_firehose_SDM450.mbn -b recovery recovery-orig.img)
9. Boot phone in recovery mode. Power + Vol+
10. Select "Reboot to bootloader".
11. Find your phone in ">\ fastboot devices".
12. Get the flashscript from file "\META-INF\com\google\android\updater-script" in the stock firmware "update.zip".
Get all extract commands like "package_extract_file("lksecapp.mbn", "/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/lksecapp");" ;
13. Transfer them into fastboot flash commands and reflash all partitions. (exclude recovery if you have a working/modded one)
Flash your system.img file (step 3) to "system" .
If needed do the same with "vendor".
14. unlock oem.
15. Try restarting your Phone.
16. ???
17. Success !
18. Disable any updates from ZTE, update 1.4 will go good but 1.5 bricks the phone.
18.2 I updated to 1.5 and bricked the phone, because its a "mayor update".
18.3 Follow steps 4 to 8 and only flash the emmc_appsboot.mbn from the STOCK ROM .
19. Do a backup.
Known bugs:
- Wifi cant start -> try reflash (flash system first or including "vendor") or use simcard and hope that ZTE Android update will fix it.
- oem seems locked and unlocked at the same time - ?
Greetings
