You'd have to unpack system/framework/android.policy.jar using apktool and change some of the code in there or maybe system/app/shutdown.apk if present.

framework-res.apk is a system file. It's not an application or something. I put it on:
system/framework
...replacing the one that was already there and changing permissions. I only do it when I want to install a new UI Mod like the ones they post here.
How can I get the nexus home navigation strip on my omega rom?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Step 1. Use search, its not difficult, google is also very good at searching for things.
Step 2.
Add qemu.hw.mainkeys=0 to your build.prop and you'll have the navbar.
This is for free, this time.

Ya it'll work for any rom, you don't need a computer, just use a root explorer and go to /system/ and open build.prop in text editor and add that line at the end. Easy.

No, you need root to write to it, but not to read from it.
You do need root to replace the effect tick

Yeah!
That's what I've said! In brief!
To replace the file (write) we need root access.
:good:

I have also been using the new V5 Jelly Butter 8/8 update and for me when I try to send an MMS it always says, "failed invalid destination address."
I have tried wiping cache and d.cache and rebooting as well as toggling the data on and off as well as completely clean wiping and reflashing all over again and still the same issue.
Anyone with helpful thoughts?

Apns?? That term I'm not familiar with. Not a full noob but guess you could say partial noob lol.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda premium
Ok I looked up about it the "apns" when I go to that setting its a black screen...I hit the menu key I can either; A: create new or B: set to default
Tried the set to default now its acting totally screwy.

It would be better to post in that thread honestly. I'm sure someone has had your problem.

I'm too new to the site as a member don't have enough posts to play to that thread beings it is in the development section. Been trying to find something bout it but I can't.

Yes. Keep in mind I've only heard of success from one person.
But I don't see why it wouldn't work. Don't forget to reboot after pasting in the the new mms
