I recently got back into Sim City 2000 and as a result, found the MIDIs from it. When I went to play them on my android phone, I basically got a large amount of noise any time a drum hit. Go ahead and try the midi below on your android device.
10018.MID
Basically unbearable. So my question is, is there a way to change the way the sounds are mapped/sound to sound more like Microsoft's MIDI Mapper? Also what could this issue be caused by? I'd love to get MIDIs sounding like normal!
Thanks for any help in advanced.

Because I'd rather try and fix the problem instead of finding a work around.

Hi guys,
Dont hate on me if it's been answered before, but I have a question that I would really like a straight answer to. Before I had my Raph, I was raised on Nokia's. In this instance, when I have a full .mp3 track as my message tone, it would play, then when the phone was activated (unlocked or msg read) the song would stop playing. I would like someone who has to knowledge to think of a way that this setting can be replicated on the Raph.
It is annoying to no end that the only tones I can get that don't play for +3mins are small, low volume chimes that I can't hear in the car, walking with the phone in my pocket etc.
If a fix could be found, can someone post a link OR explain how this can be done.
Thanks in advance.
have you tried convert the music file to .wav format instead of .mp3
Ok just confirming. I can get the .mp3 file to play as my message tone. But it will play start to finish. I want a fix or mod that will stop it playing once I have unlocked the phone or turned the screen back on.

That happens when you put them in your ringtone folder, have you tried to put them in the root of your sd card then selecting them in the notifications menu?
as far as I know there is no thing like that. BTW Welcome Fellow Nokia to TP USER. I also only was a Nokia person and decided to try something new. Sure this thing doesn't have as many cool things as my Nokia E62 but the customizing that can be done is fun as hell.
.WMA seems to be the preferred Ringtone format from what I am seeing in the file system - yes, it will work with other formats.
I haven't found a way to stop playback once it has started; seems like it has to go through to the end of the audio file.
a way 2 stop it is 2 press down on the d-pad, like the direction down. It will stop. I was having the same problem with my fuze.
Hi folks,
I was hoping someone could help me out with this. I'm unable to hear in my right ear, so i need to wear one earphone. The problem is, obviously, that i miss half the sound of a lot of songs due them being played in stereo. I was wondering if there's a way to force all the music through the headphones to be played in mono?
I've done a bit of searching Google on this, didn't really find very much, although there was vague mention of being able to edit a system file on a rooted device to achieve this. Anyone know if this is true, or of any other way to get mono sound?
Any help would be appreciated!
Friendly bump! :fingers-crossed:

I appreciate the reply I did come across this app, I was hoping there might of been a way to do it whilst using standard headphones, instead of bluetooth. I guess there's no way this can be done at present
Hello all, just a couple of thing that I'm having problems with and thought you guys may be able to help. I have a Sony XAV-712HD receiver in my car and use the Xperia Z3v with it and I get no song info from any app via Bluetooth connection. I tried my wife's Galaxy S4 and my friends Note 4 and both put song info up on the display immediately. Also anyone using MirrorLink, I have low sound quality and can't adjust the volume on the phone while in Mirrorlink. I know it says Bluetooth is not supported when using ML but if I use audio through the cable it only plays through my front speakers. Anything you guys can help with would be great! Thanks in advance!
So I can better help you, which music apps do you use? For example I use Google's Play Music. On a side note, have you checked Bluetooth settings while you are connected or trying too connect to see what's going on?
I just posted a reply but don't know where it went... LOL Anyway, I have checked BT settings on both devices connected and not. I use Spotify, Amazon, Walkman with music on sd card, and iHeart. I have factory reset both devices and still no go. I really wanted to like this device but the lack of data while on a call just doesn't work with my career and my boss ordered me a Note 4 that will be here in the morning. If you don't have time to mess with it don't worry about it. Just kind of wondering if anyone else was having an issue.
That's weird... Sorry I couldn't help you. Hopefully that issue works out for you. The data and call feature should be fixed along with xlte with the lollipop update which should be soon. Which could be this month or next month.
Not a problem man. Thanks for trying to help! I was told by the rep at the end of last year it would be a couple of months but it has recently become a real issue. Thanks again!
My poineer unit receives song data from every app I've tried. Walkman, Spotify(What I use most), Google play, pandora.. etc.
However, my girlfriends G3 doesn't show anything when playing via her phone.
I have posted it 2 months ago on "apps and software" and got nothing. So I'm trying again here.
Hello everyone!
What I'm looking to do is really simple, a LOT of people are interested in these feature, however, no one has a clear solution.
There has been a lot of post about this subject but they are most old post and there's nothing help full.
Here is the problem - whenever I'm talking over the phone, I can play any music I like and I can hear it perfectly, but the other side cant hear anything! even if ill let the music play using the phone speaker - the other side is silent (witch is strange cause when the speaker play, the mic should transfer the sound and shouldn't "care" who is making it).
So after a lot of searching for apps and different ways, I found out something interesting.. If I make the call using an VOIP (skype, viber and so on) and Ill play music at the same time - THE OTHER SIDE CAN HEAR IT PERFECTLY!!! witch means the phone is fully capable of doing it.
What is going wrong when I'm using the cellular network instead of VOIP? is there a way around it?
Ive noticed some people don't get WHY would I want to do it.. well, I'm working using my phone (sales) and using the exact same pitch. I would like to be super lazy and play a recorded version of me, and when its done, be able to just keep talking to the person without him being able to notice the difference.
Since I'm doing it for work, I cant use VOIP for regular calling.
I'm using Nexus 4, chroma rom (lollipop)
ANY help at all will be appreciated
Something to think about..
Since I didn't found any software to do it (yet), I'm experimenting with a different direction.
I currently use a PC headphones with a simple Y adapter from eBay. So I'm thinking "all I need is another microphone. One for the talking, another to sit between speakers that will play the sound for the caller.
I've gone through eBay again, this is a tough one to find cause I need 'audio input' splitter and most splitters are 'audio output'.
If you guys know something about it, please share.
I upgraded from a V35 to a V60 and an very happy with the audio quality.
However, I listen to classic rock. Now I find that either Android, LG or Verizon has limited the LG V60's volume to 75% while using plug-in headset earphones and/or plug-in earbuds.
After two months of phone calls, in person visits to Verizon and web seatching there is nothing that can be done from a user perspective, that I can find. I've tried a couple of "volume booster" apps with zero success.
I've found this limitation using LG's earbuds, every set of earbuds I own, and, with Beyerdynamic 770's (250 ohm, Note, after reading reviews, I assumed the V60 would drive those 770's w/o issue). The limitation also exists played thru a NobSound DAC.
I've seen mention of "Poweramp" in other audio related threads, used in the thread to boost output from 48khz to 192khz, which should be amazing. But there are several similarly named apps...my guess is the aforementioned app is "PowerAmp Full Version Unlocker", for $5.49. Would this help volume as well?
Is there anyway to defeat this limitation?
Even a 10% increase would be satisfactory.
What if you turn on the DAC setting in the quick-settings? I'm sure you already thought of that.

Yes, no effect.
I'm using the Neutron Player app which has a 'use on-board device's volume control' option you could turn off & use your DAC. I did this to use my tablet with an iFi DSD nano and the next time I used the [stupid] USB C to 3.5mm dongle without the DAC, it nearly blasted my ears. So if you try it, be careful when you're not using an external DAC.
The app is a pain to setup but that's because, in part, it has so many configuration options. Think Android vs iPhone taken up several notches. Once it's setup, you'll get used to the GUI/Ux itself which I did not find intuitive. Anyway, there's a free eval. version if you wanted to check it out.

Hmm....I know this kind of sucks, but how about an external DAC? Those usually work via USB C and can provide very loud, very clean output.
Op is using a DAC.

Thanks. It seems an app will be the solution. And I've seen Neutron Player mentioned in other threads.
To repeat your method as I understand it: Neutron allows me to turn off the phone's volume (which will bypass the 75% limitation) and send the raw signal via Neutron to my external DAC which will ultimately control volume?
And Im a bit confused by your advice to use caution the next time I plug in my phones directly into my phone with my wired headphone's 3.5 jack? That implies the phones limits are permanently bypassed? Am I understanding you correctly?
I'm also curious over PowerAmp app as well. Not being tech savy, intuitive is a plus.
And again, many thanks for taking the time to comment!

Right, so Neutron has another setting (and it could be Android too, not sure), that starts the app automatically when you connect headphones. Or at least it offers to start, and you can easily accidentally tap it when it pops up. I wanted to bypass my tablet's volume when I connected my external DAC, since that has a hardwire volume control so I enabled that 'bypass device's volume' control. However, later when I went to use my tablet to watch a quick video I plugged in my every day earphones, probably tapped Neutron player unintentionally, and it started playing at max volume. On my V60 phone that probably isn't super loud, especially from what you're saying. However on my Samsung tablet it was screaming loud. It happened long enough ago that I've forgotten the exact circumstances.
Anyway, that control doesn't permanently bypass the phone's volume control. You can shut it off, and I can't say for sure if it has any affect on other apps. I only made that mistake once. Later I realized the volume in Neutron was loud enough with my DAC connected. The internal volume may well be bypassed automatically. I guess I need to listen to some music again through this rig soon to test it out. Unfortunately for both of us that won't be tonight.

I haven't used PowerAmp since it first came out in the early 2000s with the advent of MP3s. But chances are it is more intuitive than Neutron Player. I'm a professional audio engineer by trade & tech nerd, yet still get caught up in the menus and different screens all the time. If it didn't sound so good and stream DSD files right along side PCM audio, and stream my entire music collection from my NAS, I'd kick it right to the curb.
My pleasure. Hope this helps! Cheers.
Any real solution for this yet? I think it can be bypassed with root access to the build prop or the sound mixer found in system/vendor/etc.
Any rooted user care to check?
Are you saying this can be fix in build prop?? Which entry?
I'm about to root my phone. Have already BL unlock it.

It should be in one of those two files. Most likely the sound mixer file though. I don't know exactly how the entry will look but i would guess something like "headphone volume limitations = max 75"
Change 75 to 100 save and reboot.
Again this is all just guesswork I'm not a developer and haven't rooted this particular phone yet and likely won't unless we get a custom aosp.
