Since updating to jelly bean I no longer receive email notifications or sounds in the notification bar. Sync is enabled and email notification sound set but nothing.
Anyone know why please?

What ROM do you use? Is your device rooted? If it is rooted, try to check with Titanium Backup, the "Exchange Service" status.... maybe it was frost before or you've deleted it
Thanks for reply. It's stock jelly bean. Rooted but don't use TB.

On my stock ICS ROM there used to be a toggle button that enabled me to hide the notifications in the notification bar. A very usefull feature as I use my phone a lot to show technical pictures to customers and when sms and what'sapp notifications pop up, it doesn't look all that professional. On the different Jelly Bean ROMS i can't find this option anymore. Has it just disappeared from Jelly Bean? Or do i need another ROM? Now using Omega V27.1. Thank you for any advice.

It's there on jb.. Press and hold the notification.. You will get an option to go to app info.. From there you can toggle notifications on and off
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
It's been rolled into the "Blocking mode" feature. Open (the main) Settings from your app drawer and you can configure it from there. If Omega uses the original toggles (and not the 15 toggles), you can also configure Blocking mode from the notification bar (and turn it on and off from there).

Looks like even if i enable blocking mode, my notifications still show up. Is it the ROM?

Apologies for my incorrect reply, it does seem to be removed - the notifications feature of blocking mode only seems to refer to incoming call notifications

OK, thanks. A shame really. If anybody has other options please be so kind to let me know.
Okay, let me explain what exactly i want. I want my delivery notification but i dont want my phone to vibrate every time a delivery confirmation is reported. Is there way to do that?
If you are using the jelly bean stock leak the settings > blocking mode tick notifications, all the time and all contacts

But wouldn't that disable the new message notification also? BTW, im running the latest disaster rom! 4.1 2!
Yes it would stop all vibrations there's an option in aokp roms, not sure about other ones. Where you can limit an apps notifications this sounds more like what you need

Maybe the service gets killed, had that to with another app. They updated it and now it's working fine. So i think it's an app fault.
Don't know if you have root and if it's possible for your phone version, but if it's possible you can flash a siyah or dorimanx kernel which has a BLN function. But i warn you, be carefull.
I tried other apps like led blinker those kind of apps to provide notifications for 3rd party apps like whats app and facebook
It needs to be enabled from setting >accessibilty
As soon as i do so i get this annoying voice mentioning number of pages
I neee help the voice killing me
I'm new to this android and touchwiz thing from an iPhone, so maybe i'm just tripping.
I recently rooted my phone getting the Hyperdrive ROM ver 5.0.5(?) (the most recent one) and I unchecked flash notification thing on the setting, but when I get incoming calls, it still flashes. It's bugging the hell out of me. I digged through all the setting possible and couldn't find anything related to it. Anyone have a fix for this android newcomer?

Open Hyperdrive Control app. Click Custom Settings/UI Mods/General Mods/Flash Blink Control. Click the preferences tab at the top. Uncheck incoming call.

Holy crap. THANKS!
So, a little while ago I had to reinstall the stock texting application and odex file on my s4. In doing so, I can send texts again like new but for some reason it's not displaying the notification for a message on the lockscreen.. (rectangle that says "New Message" that you click that takes you to the thread) I'm not sure why it's doing it. I have the notifications enabled and hangouts disabled. (turned off) The screen still lights up with a new text and vibrates and even has the status bar notification, just not lockscreen. If anyone can help me, that'd be awesome. Also, can we keep the bias 3rd party messaging opinions out? Thanks so much in advance!
What ROM are you running? Are you using a custom clock widget (like Dashclock, cLock, etc.) or do you have the stock Samsung clock?

Thats strange. try clearing data on messaging and then re-check preview message in messaging settings.
Yeah, I tried that.
So here's what I did to fix my issue,
1: I was running the build.prop hack for the s5 status bar. I returned to stock build.prop and did a battery grab reboot.
2: Not that it's relevant, but I cleared all data for Google play services.
3: *Important* I cleared my cache then all data for the Messaging app in settings. Reboot and reopen the app and it worked good as new. I hope this can help someone with the same issue.
