Okay, i need the actual PRL file to do this you will need QPST, and Your HTC Diag Drivers
okay so download QPST 2.7 build 378 you can get it HERE
once downloaded Extract the file and run the setup.msi it will install visual c++ libraries then QPST
When you have QPST installed Proceed to get your HTC Diagnostic Drivers, you can get them HERE
once they are installed on Your PC plug your Phone into the PC and let all the drivers install
Then after all your drivers are installed on your phone Open up the Diagnostic Interface by Dialing ##3424# OR ##3424 SEND
Next open up QPST Configuration and add a Com Port
when com port is added click start clients and select Service Programming
You should see a Phone that says MFio-FFA make sure its highlited then hit OK
Next you will read from Phone it will ask you for your SPC which is 000000
after it is done reading hit save to file, choose desktop as your location. after file is saved exit service programming.
go back to the com port page and this time choose RL Editor from Start Clients
When RL Editor Opens click File, Navigate toi the saved file on Your desktop and open it, it will take about 30 seconds to load, but once it's loaded click File Save as "PRL# HERE" then hit save then come back here to xda and upload the file.
Screen shots are attached asd thumbnails below

QPST? Wow, reminds me of Motorola Phone Tools which I'd use back in the pre-smartphone days to make seem edits to my Razr v3c.
I've got some errands to run this evening but I'll try and tinker with this when I get home. Besides, this will give me a reason to boot my Mac's Windows 7 VM and get it ready to run the software for s-off.

Yup most newer devices have the capability but the stock prl uses the same 800mhz band for talk and data, by tweaking the prl it will tell the device to look @ the 1900 MHz band for data connectivity freeing up the 800 MHz band for talk only, this will work reguardless of the device being in an LTE zone or Evdo zone
Sent from my PG86100 using xda app-developers app
Here you go. You'll need to change the extension from zip to prl, as XDA chided me for trying to upload an invalid file type.
Just like above, rename .zip to .prl
EDIT: I ran a hash check (SHA-1 and MD5) on dbrits' PRL and on mine, and they are identical. Apparently, they aren't region specific, so you don't need more people posting them.

I'm trying to get the latest Verizon PRL so I have the best shot of getting 4G on the current pre-alpha CM7 build. Search has yielded no way of forcing a PRL update, though. Most threads say just wait for it. Anyone know of an alternative method?
Reboot. That's the only way. U can't dial #228 or whatever its different. Reasons? It has a similar card its a lot different then phone that don't have sim cards. :/

Thanks I already was aware of that. I rebooted multiple times today and am still on 15008 though. Oh well. I'm wondering if running the leaked radio might be my issue in getting the new PRL...

Use rootexplorer and place it on ur system/app folder. Need to change the permissions too..
Evo[3D]
What do the permissions need to be set too?
I didn't set the permissions to anything beside what it is assigned. I deleted the original epst, reboot then copy pasted the downgraded version to system /app and its working like a charm.... For me.

I know SteelH rom 1.01 has it. I downloaded the rom, extracted and pushed EPST.apk to /system/app in recovery, wiped dalvik and rebooted.
Now not roaming on verizon towers.
I feel like I should know what this feature is but could somebody enlighten me? What are the benefits of using the old version opposed to the newer one? Thanks!

You can type ##775# and apply a verizon prl, which would allow you to use 3g on verizon towers.
Better signal that way.

Here's the original thread:

I just tested - it works.
Thanks for the info! Thanks button as been pressed
I had this working on my OG EVO; however, I cannot seem to get it to work on my 3d. I have tried the 00001, 01337, and 31337 prls. Each one tells me verzion cannot authenticate my phone.
This is a common error. You have to call sprint and have them reprovision your phone on the server side. Just tell them that can't make phone calls or text.
Look here

what do you mean by dated??
"If dialing ##775# doesn't do anything, try dialing ##775 or ##778 (then hit call)" this method doesn't work.. is there any other way to get into this option on photon?
Well it is a year old and it was for the EVO. Dialing the ## codes was a Froyo thing. I dont think it works with Gingerbread. This is why I said it was dated.
EDIT: More reading, but I have no idea if it works on the photon: http://forum.sdx-developers.com/index.php?topic=5430.0
Use at your own risk.
There is absolutely no support in the main thread so I decide to create my own thread. CDMA workshop is what's needed to get talk and text working, and QSPT gets data working, correct? If so, can I pay to have the phone flashed with just talk and text, and then get the data working my self or is there a certain process that's need to be done with CDMA workshop in order for QSPT to get the data working? Can anyone Enders this please?

I know, but no one seems to give any help in that thread. Usually a thread like this makes me people go on endless rants, making someone want to step in and answer the question. I just need to know if I can have voice and text flashed at a store and then be able to get data working with QPST (or QSPT)

Have you tried to manually program with CDMA WS?
The first time I tried it didn't work, and I listed my rez on Craigslist, but then, for some reason, I tried again and that time it worked. Just call up a P+ rep, and tell them you need the values for manually programming the phone.
I didn't program the data because I'm not on the monthly plans.

Didnt work!
Hey guys i tried following the link showing hwo to flash. It all seemed to work. i tried making an outbound call and i just get the verizon auto system saying its not active. I thought maybe its because of the sim card. Without sim card it doesnt even try to call and says needs a sim card. Can Anyone help me out on what i might have done wrong? Text doesnt work either! I dont really care about 3g i just want to have my TandT.
So, they are currently rolling out 800 mhz and LTE in my area, From what I understand the PRL makes no difference other than to look for roaming and certain bands. So an old PRL that does not have LTE in my area is bad. I have also come across a later corprate PRL to allow verizon roming.
I have the latest avatar rom and rooted. I am still S-on and I have changed ro.build.type to dev. Debugging is also on. I have downloaded the latest PRL and ##778# does not work. In fact I can not find a single ## code that works. Am I screwed? Do I need to go back to stock???
You need to be on a Sense ROM to update your PRL or use those dialer commands.
Also keep in mind that you cannot roam on another 4G network.

This coming from a guy that seems to follow my posts around just to argue...
You try installing the latest CM10.1 rom and follow the plethora of different prl update threads on here and see if it works for you. If you know a trick to it great, that is why I am asking, But showing up just to make snide comments is stupid.
Follow the directions in this thread to manually change your PRL while on a Sense ROM. If you simply want the latest Sprint PRL for your area, make a Nandroid backup of your current setup, then flash a Sense ROM and update your PRL from the settings menu. After it's updated you can restore your backup.

I did a hybrid of the two.
I had to flash a sense rom and it still would not use the update PRL.
I then used ## codes to enable modem mode and used CDMA workshop to flash the corporate rom!
If I could only find a way to enable modem/ dev mode on my Avatar rom I would be set.
Thank you to all that provided constructive responses.

After flashing a Sense rom you must edit the build.prop so that ro.build.type = dev. Reboot then try ##778# and you will have the option to change prl. I've done it on meanbean, viper, operation jellybean, and the Sense 5 port. All with success. Just some future info.
