Trying to install PA 2.25 from here.
I flashed boot.img for the zip file, wiped cache, dalvik, system restore and all. But when I'm trying to flash the ROM I get "error 7".

Resurrection v1.7 Installation aborted
I'm unable to update to Resurrection v1.7 from v1.5.
I'm getting the following failed messages before saying Installation aborted:
Code:
assert.failed:getprop("ro.product.device")=="galaxys2" || getprop("ro.build.product")=="galaxys2
etc...
"
I did:
- wipe data/factory reset
- wipe cache
- wipe dalvik cache
and still it won't flash.
Should i flash 1.6 then 1.7?
Cheers,
Simon
Download the rom again .
jje
yup go as jje said and delete the old rom stored on sd and save the fresh copy..

Press Thanks if my post if un-helpfull !! So i should know i am still NoOb
Thanks guys
Thanks guys for replying and trying to help.
Unfortunately, i'm still unable to flash 1.7. It's not a big since 1.5 is really stable for my day to day usage.
I have tried the following without sucess;
- flashed CM9 kernel (was successful)
- Downloaded the Resurrection 1.7 ROM again
- copied the zip to both internal and external (sd card)
- flashed 1.7 ROM (with no success, assert fail, Installation aborted)
EDIT
Sorry guys I'm an idiot!

Try another kernel,mate.
latest siyah kernel
download the latest siyah kernel from here...
Code:
http://www.gokhanmoral.com/gm/2012/04/24/siyahkernel-v3-1-2/
then flash it thru CWM
problems solved- simples
there is a 3.1.2-2 beta version but the one I posted above is the latest stable version, I'm using- in fact its the only kernel I will EVER use
Previously i tried reflashing rom, and also with siyah rc6 kernel where everything worked well.... I think its rom related, or something about my phone...
Try wipe data, wipe cash and wipe dalvik from recovery menu. Then flash 1.7 again

My phone would refuse to flash at all with the siyahkernel - what i do is flash back to 1.5 and then reboot recovery - THEN install 1.7 and flash siyahkernel back if you want
hi,
I was on CM 9 nightly http://www.cyanogenmod.org/devices/sony-ericsson-xperia-ray
and just tryed to upgrade for the newest version there !
(copy last version to sd, wipe cache - dalvik, flash, reboot)
And now, i'm stucked on freeXperia logo
cant even flash something else (assert failed: getprop("ro.product.device")...)
Have you flashed the latest kernel (should be included in the zip)?
If this doesn't work, wippe data/factory reset and flash it again.
If you get the getprop error, open MetaInf-com-google-android-updater-script and delete the first 3 lines (they start with getprop). Pack zip again and flash it :good:
Sent from my SK17i running Jelly Bean via CM10
well, i dont know for the kernel : i did (like for my GS2) install zip for sd card, then choose the the CM9 version. Isn't the kernel flashed same time?
i tryed wipe data/factory reset, the flash doesnt work
the MetaInf-com-google.... solution works : i can flash it again without the error.
Thanks bro!
Kernel must be flashed via flashtool or fastboot. How to do that (flashing the boot.img) is in the tutorial for installing custom roms/kernels in my signature :good:

No, xperia phone aren like sammy phone which got separate recovery and kernel partition. In fact, by default stock, xperia phone doesnt even have any recovery. The kernel must be flashed via fastboot before flashing rom. Recovery integrated into kernel ramdisk.
Hi,
I've recently rooted my phone and installed my first ROM - Resurrection Remix - and it's notified my of an update (v3.1.3) and downloaded the zip for me. My question is how do I safely update RR?
When I first installed it I had to perform a number of steps wiping and clearing things before installing from a zip using CWM. Hopefully I don't have to do all of these as I don't want to have to completely reinstall every update, but do I have to do any of them still or do I just install from the zip in CWM without any other steps?

Have you read the first posts of the ROM thread?
Maybe there is a description of how to install the update.
If not, then you can just flash the update zip file in CWM recovery and try to reboot normally.
If everything works fine ... that's it.
If you have issues, boot into recovery, wipe cache and Dalvik cache and reboot normally again.
If that does not help, then you might have to wipe data (do a factory reset) in recovery.
But I think that these steps are not needed as you are already on this custom ROM.
(Usually you only have to do the complete wipe steps when coming from another / stock ROM - and the other way round.)
Good luck !
P.S.: Always create a nandroid backup before flashing. So you are able to "go back" if needed.
Hi there!
I've recently flashed xpirt's unofficial port of MIUI v5. However, I'm not seeing any MIUI elements in my phone except 2 apps (which do not work). They are MiCloud and MiCredits. Other than those apps, my phone is pretty much a sensed based phone after flashing the phone.
Each time the phone boots up, a pop up will appear saying : Unfortunately, Xiaomi service framework has stopped. Same thing happens when i try to start the two related apps.
My order of flashing
Format /data
Format /cache
Format /system
Format /delvikcache
flash xpirt miui v5 #1
(at this point I repeated steps 1,2 & 4 after multiple failed attempts to get my miui working)
flash xpirt miui v5 #2
reboot
Did i flash it wrongly?
I have a working CWM recovery already.
Any help is appreciated!! My phone is in working condition even without the miui theme, but meh, wouldn't i just return to the stock rom?
Did a lot of work just to get my JB version on DX too! :crying:
Android 4.1.1
Hboot 1.25
fulmix.Kernel #2
Tried searching for any similar issues faced but seems like I'm the only one facing the issue.
Not even sure if it's supposed to be how it is... not enough screenshots around from other users to show what I should see upon starting up.
You have a wrong CWM recovery for JB hboot.
Use TWRP recovery for JB
Thanks!

Wow, that works for me! Thanks! :good::good:
I have the exact same problem
Hboot 1.25
unlocked with WinDroid HTC Desire X Toolkit v3.0
tried flashing the rom with the included TWRP and CWM.
phone boots, i get the error "xiaomi framework stopped" and the two mentioned apps.
flash order like aarontanws
do i need superuser before i flash the rom?
any other suggestions?
cheers
I'm not sure if the Windroid Tool checks your hboot and matches the right TWRP version. I for myself use TWRP 2.6.3.0 on JB hboot, works perfectly for me. You can also use PhilZ Touch if you want, but be sure to choose the JB version. Given that, flash the recoveries manually via fastboot, perform a full wipe, install the first package along with the second one.
TWRP 2.6.3.0 here.
I get an Error when I try wiping the dalvik cache.
flashed TWRP 2.5.0.0 via command line
no Error wiping dalvik + flashes MIUI successfully

Best tip I can give you, don't use a toolkit. Do everything manually

First make a rom backup of your 4.2.2 incase if something goes wrong and you want to restore back.
Then download the latest recovery version, twrp or cyanogenmod
Download cm11
Flash the newest recovery,
Reboot into recovery
Format data/factory reset
Wipe /system
Wipe /dalvik-cache
Flash cm11
Flash kitkat gapps
Reboot.
Enjoy cm11.
The reason why you need latest recovery is because cm11(kitkat) needs selinux enabled recoveries, else it will say something like aborted, set_metadata_recursive failed.
Goodluck with flashingcm11!

Is it corrupt maybe?
Did you downloaded cyanogenmod for the right device?(Probably you have but just in case)
Are you really using the latest recovery?
Better way, what error does it shows, why does it aborts.

YOu need to first install Kitkat compatible cwm recovery to install kitkat rom in i9100 .. So first download i9100kitkat compatable recovery (google the same to find it) flash it via odin or normal and reboot recovery now .. Now you can full wipe, wipe cache data partitions format system and flash the laest cm11 + gapps with out any problems
