I've installed the Safestrap version of the Moto kernel from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1927747
and it's fantastic, no major problems. Bye bye bloat, very zippy.
XT912 here though
In general it looks like you should be following the Droid Razr Android Dev section of the forums for everything.

[PATCH][xt912]Patch to fully enable GSM on every Rom | see main thread

This is a patch to fully enable GSM on every Stock Rom, on every AOSP Rom and on every Android version.
This in not for US users, in US the GSM is locked in RIL.
Release 4.x
This patch will enable:
-GSM
-SMS
-MMS
-3G Data
-USSD Code
-Call Forwarding
I'm constantly updating only this main thread and I will answer only in it, I have no time to update and control every thread in sub-forums.
I'm using this thread only for major notifications.
Kernel
First of all, thanks for the patch.I'm planing to use it for the eclipse rom.
But there is still a problem.The kernel.Some roms are based on the american kernel.And flashing that kernel on eu devices will take me to fastboot mode even with the cid partition erased.
But i guess that this problem needs to be discussed with the rom developer.

Thanks.I'm running jelly bean,so I cant flash the rom.Too bad
We managed it to boot stock Rom on kexec kernel finally . I will release a kexec patch + gsm patch tonight. Then you can run any rom while the stock kernel doesn't matter. I will do the same for cdma, so cdma users can run any gsm rom. The kernel will be a unmodified one, no extras so far. Keep in mind that JBX KERNEL will not with with it!
The first bigger project for advanced stock experience is catalyst 3 rom on JBX Kernel. Maybe also tonight ..

I cant wait mate Great Work!!!
Btw: This "patch" doesn't work for GSM users - only for XT912 which is in GSM networks. The ril libs are responsible, so XT910 users will not be able to pass SIM pin.
But doesn't matter. I made a new GSM patch for it..

Worked Like a Charm
Dec 13, 2013 - Worked like a charm on my XT912 AFTER I downloaded latest drivers from motorola and updated them on my PC. (wasn't working at first).
Try googling Matts Utility for Droid razr Jellybean. I would post the link but I'm not allowed to yet. It's a one click, easy method of rooting and restoring your phone if it breaks.
I also used Matt's utility. It was very user friendly.

Yes. You might check out CM 11. It is pretty awesome. You can download the latest version for the xt912 here. But you appear to be in India. Sure you dont have the XT910?

I previously had the atrix2 but gave it to my dad. I'm planning on getting the droid razr maxx (from the us as the battery life is a lot better) and i would like to know if BMM and the other roms here are compatible with it like cm and sokp as well as jbx kernel and also if the droid razr maxx is gsm compatible.
XT 912 and XT 912m only differ in the battery, everything that works for the Droid Razr will work for Droid Razr Maxx.

Sorry for asking again but bmm and the roms will work for the xt912MXX too (because once i get it i cant return the phone) ?? Especially bmm because i love to mess around with multiple roms
Does it also support gsm (on stock and custom roms) ??? Because some say it doesn't but others say it does on ics and above.
Yes, everything works. The variants are not different regarding anything s/w related.
BMM, SS both works.

So will it support gsm on the custom roms too???
And what about the droid razr maxx hd??
For GSM you will need GSM fix. Search the general section.
Maxx HD is an entirely different phone. Its xt926.

First tip: don't upgrade to JB via OTA, cause you still have bootloader unlocked;
The best rom's i've been using on my XT910 are:
Omni Rom;
cm11;
Paranoid Android;
AOSP;
AICP;
AOSB (link's expired, hope to find some more in soon);
MIUI (I've been using it, but due performances issues I'm on cm11 now);
I'm on cm11 by now cause it's the most updated so far, I'd also recomend to you Omni Rom due it's amazinha extra features as multiview Windows, recente apps list and some more others
already It is possible update to 4.4 in the razr maxx? how I can know if my device is updateable?

bloatware is preinstalled apps, that are unnecessary and can cause the device to run slow.
I don't have a link for the xt912 at the moment, but the xt894/droid 4 is basically the same.

Ok Thanks Let me Try
I believe its a Jelly Bean thing. My RAZR's (XT912) and also my RAZR HD (XT926 still on Jelly Bean) will occasionally bog down for no reason, usually when opening Maps for navigation purposes. I strongly recommend using safestrap and upgrading your RAZR by using one of the fantastic Kit Kat ROM's available.
I cant recommend the Lollipop ROM's because I have not tried one yet but have read many good things about them

Yeah I Have Remove Bloatware let me test my phone atleast 3 days then if my phone still lag then i m gonna install kit kat rom actually i afraid coz i never install rom thats why installation of rom will not effect my phone right ?
I have a XT912 still on 4.1.2 that I have de-bloated and it will help your phone but I still find that it will slow down significantly while multi-tasking from time to time.
If you do use safestrap to install a ROM, make sure you get the safestrap version specific to your phone (spyder for CDMA XT912 and umts spyder for GSM XT910)

I bought my XT910 on Nov 2011 and for the past 1.5 years I've been using it only for HDMI (to watch old movies which I've downloaded in the past). I had a defective earpiece, I received the spare and came here looking for any tutorial (then went to youtube).. Saw this list, so decided to debloat it... App Quarantine app does the freezing for free (you need to enable advanced in settings)
never felt any significant lag, may be because I gave it less work... Rooted and running European Retail 4.1.2 on Asia retail XT910..
