Best jellybean modem for London? AOKP (resurrection Rom) - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys, had a good search and can't find any London based threads our replies.
I'm a T-Mobile user in London and currently using the LPX modem from the resurrection Rom 3.1.1 but am finding my mobile broadband awfully slow.
Can anyone recommend a decent modem so I can actually use my phone on the move? I know it's not the best network but I used to get better speeds.
Any help would be much appreciated!

Modem for singapore usage.

Hi,
I am just wondering which modem should I use if I am from singapore. I am now currently using omega v33.1 and I feel that the modem is a bit slow. Previously when I am using xli8 the speed is fast. Does different modem produce different speed? Sorry if I asking silly question as I still new in these.
Thanks for your reply in advance.

As what chrismast said, try a different modem.. Maybe you can try XXDLI1 and move up from there.. Every modem have different effect on signals. Have to try each one.. In Singapore what I know that the signals also depends on the provider signal. So it's quite complicated, you just have to try each one..
Hi guys,
Thank so much for your advice. . Will try it tomorrow.

Need some help and recommendations

Hello all, I have finally decided to root my S3. I just have one question though, what app would be good to backup all my settings, pics, apps and everything else? Also what is a good Rom to use that's fast and based on jellybean?

You can use titanium backup. As for the ROM it depends, some prefer stock with custom kernel others prefer asop ROMs. You should browse the forums and decide for yourself. Also next time search and only make a new thread if you can't really find an answer, the moderators may get mad at you.

What's the difference between asop and stock with different kernel? I read some older topics and just go too confused.

read the OP. it explains the different naming schemes of various different ROMs. it also lists all the roms that fall into different categories of aosp, aokp, stock, and others.

actually jjegan is right. due to hardware differences, you need to check out the appropriate forum for your phone. you will turn your phone into an expensive paperweight if you flashed any roms or kernels in this forum.

Yeah, there are 2 of them, try both and go with which one you like.
Sorry, this is just a loaded question to which nobody can answer for you. Many have asked this, and it just depends on you and what you are looking for. I will tell you, they are both super stable.
So flash away my friend.

I like the iphone rom.

Which ROM is the best for battery??

I have tried just about every rom there is at the minute but I cant seem to find one that doesn't sap my battery.
I don't even game or watch videos on it I literally just check the internet every now and then yet still I suffer 10% drops for Just using it for 5 or 10 mins at a time.
Could anyone advise me of a ROM without the whistles and bells but is all about battery power?
Thanks for any help,
Andy.

Settings then apps the go to all the scroll down till you see Google play services and click on it then disable it... Well basically you won't get any push notifications like twitter or snapchat but most apps won't need this but some do so it's not for all people but it saves a lot of ? ? ? ? ? ?

I tried CM11 Nightlies and NeatRom (based on SlimKat). Both are great at battery. Decided to stick with NeatRom because it seems more stable. I'm not using any custom kernel.
The thread states do not ask which rom or kernel is the best. This was a question about which rom has given people decent battery life, not which has the best features or tweaks etc which is obviously all subjective. So to recap, I am actually asking the opposite, not which rom is best, but which has lasting power. Features or no features.

Ps. Thanks for the help Guys, I am on neat rom and it's Brilliant Cheers
