Hi all ,
I already know that i'm a noob so forgive my question.
I have a LG P500 unblocked. The SIM card is of a spanish carrier but I think that doesn't matter.
The problem:
I followed this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1197991
Everything ran ok until here "Flash Custom ROM" - Step 7. Everytime I turn on my cell he just get stuck in the silver lg logo. Just that! After reading the guide 300 thousand times, i notice that I haven't installed the CWM, because there is no indication whatsoever in the guide to install it, so it's impossible step 7 to work, right?
So, where I can download the right CWM for this phone and how can I install it manually in the sd card? Which folders I need to create and if it should be in the root or not.
The ROM that I've copy to the sd card (unzipped) it was this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1325386
It brings already the "gapps.zip" file, that is referenced in the step 6.
Please don't tell me that the phone is bricked.
The "Emergency Mode" is no good! It's just a yellow screen with small black letter saying: "Emeregency Mode!" and the keys don't work.
So can anyone help me, please!
Thank you very much!!!
follow this guide :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15309588&postcount=2
but to answer your question directly, you can download rom manager from the market, which will allow you to flash clockworkmod recovery. once it has been flashed, reboot into recovery, and direct your phone to the file of your rom (it does not have to be in the root of the sdcard; the rom file should be zipped, not unzipped)
however (once again) i think it will be much more clear if you follow that guide.
root and install through rom manager
or
you can directly flash cwm recovery following http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1318750
Hi ,
I'm really a noob...
First, one million thanks to mak.3736 & sweetnsour.
Now continuing with the saga as follows:
This run it sweet - http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1318750
I was able to install CWM and make all the backups necessary but... of course other problem has to arise... following the same guide from before, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1197991
in step 9 says: "9. Wipe Data/Factory Reset, wipe cache partition, & under Advanced Settings, Wipe dalvik-cache, then format all partitions EXCEPT /sdcard.". I was able to format all the partitions except one called 'sd-ext'. I try more than once and gave some error but didn't pay much attention. Anyway I continued following the guide and try to flash this time this ROM 'Harmonia 1.7 (Aphrodite+Picasticks)'. And again happens the same! When the phone boots get stuck on the silver lg logo (I waited 10 minutes because I know the first time a new ROM loads can be quite slow). And again I have to restart in the CWM mode and restore from backup to the stock ROM!
Sorry sound annoying but any ideas of what's happening? What can I being doing wrong?
Thx in advance!
Sorry...
Just one small detail which I think strange and don't know if it's normal...
When I'm navigating in the CWM mode, in the bottom of the screen this info is present:
'ClockworkMod Recovery v5.0.2.0
E:Bad boot message
"recovery"'
This bad boot message, what is this? It's important?
Thx again!

If I'm not mistaken wasn't bumblebee a rom tailored for the OpV but someone got it working with OpT...I'm probably wrong and I sure think I am, clarification? But adding to what sweetnsour gave you, also look under ciaox thread, its a complete breakdown of roms from 2.2 to 2.3.7. Its in the android development section under stickies. Also the thread comes with many other things ie..kernels and tools. Sweetnsour's thread is great as well though

Sorry only answer now...
First, thx to terratrix, sweetnsour, Jrhodes85 and Raffy 97.
Second, sorry for my dumb assumption that any ROM for LG could run in any LG Android phone...
So I can only try to flash a ROM built specifically for the LG P500. Got it! I will search on the ROM's list. Any in particular that you guys recommend?
I'm looking for a ROM with a lighter boot, better wifi connection and in which apps like gmail, yahoo mail and facebook don't get jammed. I also want to remove the tweeter aplication, netlog and specific lg applications from my phone because I don't need it. And the possibilty to apply skins. And not have three different applications for weather and news.
So, suggestions?
Thx in advance!

Then if you manage to successfully install the ROM f flash fserves kernel =)

I'm glad you brought it back to life
Now go from start, and don't pull out battery in the middle of process.
99% can be fixed, even if you flashed something wrong, but pulling battery out when you realize you are doing something wrong makes those 99% goes dooooown loooow
Ye ye i know this things dont worry ^^ im old on all these rooting things

So you're on unlocked bootloader now.
Go to xrecovery. Then do factory reset(full wipe). Go to partition tools. Format system, then format data, then format cache. Then mount system, mount data and mount cache.
Then go to install custom zip. And then select the feralab rom. After the installation gets complete, reboot, and go back to the recovery. Wipe cache partition, then go to advanced and wipe dalvik cache and fix permissions.
Then reboot.
Your rom will work then
And yes, there's a thanks button below so just click it if you want to. There's no need to say thanks

Hi ThilinaC!
I wrote you a PM because I can't write a post in the developers forum yet (newbie). But your inbox is already full :crying:
So I decided to make a new thread since it seems I cannot contact you in other way.
I'd like to tell you that your ROM does not work on Xperia Neo with locked bootloader. I wanted to tell you this because you claim in your thread that, in theory, it should. Well, it doens't. It just gets stacked in the "SONY" logo forever. It's not possible to enter CWM anymore after flashing the ROM zip.
I made the process twice: 'CMW -> factory reset -> wipe partition -> wipe Dalvik -> install ROM zip'. I tried re-installing the official GLOBAL ICS ROM, rooting my phone and repeat the process with no success ('SONY' logo again).
My phone is a Xperia Neo (MT15).
I apologize if someone posted about this already, but the thread is quite long already and I couldn't read it all.
Best regards!

Its already told in Thilina's thread itself by someone buddy, i understand why his pm box is full, but why not reading few pages back in Thilina's thread? Just take your time with that or do you have some hurry and why you dont ask it in his thread?
The rom is for unlocked bootloader because peeps must flash another kernel.
But the next time ask it in his thread instead starting a new one
Thanks

I saw someone having this problem in the firsts posts. I kept reading and they end up discussing about something else.
So, it's not clear that it doesn't work for a locked bootloader. Specially when ThilinaC says that it should work on locked bootloaders.
XDA forums do not permit me to write posts/threads on the devs section (it says I haven't posted enough yet). That's why I cannot reply in the main thread.
I think that must be clarified (corrected) in the thread by ThilinaC himself and I didn't come with a better way of saying it since PM him is not possible.
Also, I do not consider reading a whole 22 pages thread fair to end up re-flashing your phone because the author has not tested the ROM properly, nor anybody reported the issue in a proper way as of today. So, I'm not blaming anybody. Just want to report the "bug" so that it can be corrected and save people's time .

There is a 'FAQ' section in the second post where he states that, in theory, it will work on locked bootloaders.
I don't see it as clear as you do, honestly. Maybe I'm missing sth...
This ROM is functioning with Locked Bootloader, you need do this: CMW > wipe factory reset > wipe cache > wipe dalvik cache > format cache > format data > format system > install ROM. So does not stop at Sony logo :good:

Anyways, I'm happy with my actual system so I'm not even going to try atm.
I must say that ThilinaC states that, at least for the new version (Build 7.00), it ONLY works for unlocked bootloaders.
Subscribe the topic to get informed about ROM. I'm waiting for this. I also wanted it on locked bootloader. I checked thread & damn.... it's just for unlocked bootloaders..... :'(

if you are talking about pureness rom then you are completely wrong
it supports both locked and unlocked boot loader
I resotred v7 from a Fresh cwm backup , work really good(LOCKED BL HERE).Then i tried to install zip of V8 then i got bootloop (i didn`t do a full wipe ... so i dont know, next time i will do a full wipe too)
on my xperia neo v (lock) at first time, lock sony logo... i m flash again 4.0.3, root and cwn and after in recovey i format system cache data and install again pureness... and load rom successfully. Smooth and faster rom...
I tried your ROM again ThilinaC and it works perfectly with locked bootloader. Just need to follow carefully the steps you've written in the first posts.
Thank you!
Btw, how can I change the title of this thread?
Pureness build 8 works great on my Xperia neo V with locked bootloader... but the only problem is this when I use 3G for 10-15 minutes my phones tem goes to 48-50 degrees, & also battery is drains so fast....
Hi guys!
I've been using build 8 on Neo with a locked bootloader and everything is fine. Well, maybe the battery drains a little faster, but everything else os OK.
Now build 10 is out and I am asking something, maybe you can help. For doing all the process of flashing the ROM, I used the CWM installed by X-Parts app on the store.
Now with Pureness I can't install It. How can I do de wipe/everything process to flash the build 10? It's recommended to redo aaaaaall the wipes of the original post?
1.Factory reset in cwm
2.wipe cache partition
3.wipe dalvik cache
4.Format /system (in mounts and storage)
5.Format /cache
6.Format /Data
Thanks in advance, so I can't post in the developers thread yet.
PD: When I updated the Xperia Neo to the official ICS and later to Xperia Pureness I found Camera360 crashes when closing the menu of the app/the galley of photos of the app. It's normal?
You need to do a full wipe , for no FC's in pureness.

And anyone knows a method to do a full wipe + flash the ROM without the CWM that gives the X-Parts app? Pureness isn't compatible with that method.
