I will upgrade my stock ICS 4.0.3 to JB when that is released to my Samsung S2. But the problem is that I have removed a lot of bloatware on my phone like Game Hub, Music Hub but also the stock-clock (and more) with Titanium Backup. But will that cause a conflict with Jelly Bean when JB is being installed? The system is missing files and apps, and then JB is installed on top of that. Sounds like a setup for problems to me. Anybody tried JB with uninstalled stock-apps on their old ICS?
Should it really matter? I have JB without any of those apps and it works fine

If you're talking about an OEM update, then it may not let you update. Its always good to have backups of system apps, even if they are bloatware.

I have flashed cyanogen mod 9 on my sgs2. I love the rom. I know it's a weird question, but does anyone know where or how to install both samsung app store and samsung music hub? Are the apk's available from anywhere?
You can't on cm9, install the samsung ics rom if you want samsung apps.
Thank you for the info. Sacrificing those two things is well worth having cm9. I was thinking it was as simple as installing the apks - I assume it needs samsung framework to run
I hate touchwiz, i find it so damn ugly, ics looks so much better to me but samsung never releases their propietary drivers and we're stuck with half working aosp roms, so the only solution i can come up with is use the stock samsung ics firmware but get rid of their apps ( gallery, dialer, samsung apps, email client, read hub... ) and then install on top the stock ics apps, is it possible or will i break something?
try westscrips ressurection rom. Works perfect.

Hi,
I have put the latest ICS leak on my SGS2 which funny enough I find better and more stable than the official XXLPQ.
The only things I miss are the stock ICS apps such as the ICS calendar, stock Email for Exchange, stock dialer/people apps etc ... but I also kind of like Touchwizz launcher and would like to keep it.
I have downloaded the latest gapps but is it safe to flash these over a Samsung ROM and would it bring the stock ICS apps that I am after?
I have searched on the forum and found few threads about stock apps but not really what I am after.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Anyone can help for this?
I am trying to get the Email app from the CM9 ROM installed onto my LP3 stock Samsung ICS.
I have tried to copy Email.apk and Exchange.apk to /system/app but that doesn't work, the app is not visible under settings/applications...
I would love to get the stock ICS apps (sms, contacts, email, agenda) on the Samsung ROM (LP3) which I find very stable
I want to install a Jelly Bean ROM on my Note (mostly because i want Google Now and the buttery goodness) but I'd like to keep the S-Pen apps.
I realize the default gestures wouldn't work, but and having the apps working would at least keep me happy (not that I use them much anyway).
I'm assuming the apk's won't work on a romantic not built on an official (or leaked) Samsung release. Is this correct?
You can install an app called G Note which does everything that the Spen apps do on jellybean.
You can install google now on ics with modified apk found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1747224 jelly bean is good but if you need a more stable rom this is a good alternative.
Hi All.
I've recently flashed JB 4.1.2 (Samsung stock) onto my Galaxy S II and rooted. This was an upgrade from Gingerbread 2.3.6.
The JB rom has AllSharePlay and AllShareControl both of which are awful. I would like to re-install the original AllShare either 1.2 or 2.0.0.
I have the apks for these (1.2 deodexed and 2.0.0 odexed I believe).
I have tried placing these in /system/app, setting apt permissions and rebooting, as I understand is required with system apps like this.
1.2 seems runnable but then FCs after a second or two.
2.0 does not seem to install.
I have also tried installing these from zips in recovery mode both of which fail.
I have also tried recovering the Allshare 2.0.0 from a Titanium Backup taken from the old Gingerbread system. Needless to say this was unsuccessful
Can anyone help with this issue?
Or can anyone point me to a deodexed version of AllShare 2.0.0
Please don't suggest other DLNA apps like BubbleUPnP, iMediaShare etc, these are not what I'm looking for.
Cheers in advance.
Allshare on jellybean ...?
Bump.
Any help.
Allshare on jellybean ...?
I'd like to do the same.
Have SII, upgraded to JB 4.1.2. Want Allshare, not AllShare Play.
Please help.
Allshare on jellybean ...?
Bumping again...This must've be doable? Surely some genius ROM kitchen has managed this already...?
