Which is the Best Governor and I/O Scheduler for Gaming? I am a person who plays game daily....So, which is the best Governor..
I have a little knowledge about the combinations of Governors and I/O that need to be used for better gaming performance!

I have gone through that thread before, but i wanna know which is the best combination...I want people's views on it
I would say performance and sio

Ive searched and found zero answers ;-)
What I/O scheduler would provide the best results as far as speed, battery life, etc. on the fascinate?
I don't know which is the fastest, but SIO or NOOP are pretty fast.

Ill give noop a shot.
I've read that combinations of schedulers and CPU governors matter, for example running CFQ and conservative together gets a very good performance ratio as opposed to noop and conservative. I use CFQ but I really have never noticed any major difference between them.
Im using smartass. What would be best combo of speed and battery life.
If you're on TW, stay with cfq which gives you a more stable camera. What are you running?

Running conservative on aosp kind of defeats your purpose, on demand and smart ass are always the way to go, cfq will always give you the best balance as far as output (and more stability.). Differences in battery life are marginal by changing your I o scheduler

so smartass an cfq it is, thsnks.
violets are red
questions in general make choppa blue.
I learned a lesson today,
and I hope you did too.
If you're on VGB with the built-in kernel, CFQ's a great choice paired with ondemand or conservative. If you're using Glitch, try Deadline and ondemand with screenstate scaling set to conservative.

Thanks for the info!
I'm using the biffmod GB (CM7 based rom) with a built in glitch kernel and after reading about I/O schedulers I've gone with BFQ and smart ass... it's ran smooth so far.
What app is everyone using to overclock the ics rom ...i have glitch b2 on v6.

That's the new Glitch 14 live oc guide. If you are not using NSTools you aren't using half of what this kernel is capable of. Trust me read that and enjoy awesomeness.

What if I'm just using the kernel that build 6 came with...and no glitch kernel? ?

There's no overclocking or voltage adjustments available with the stock kernel. You can change governor and I/O scheduler but that's it for now.

Agreed....also set cpu wont allow you to change I/O which is why I said voltage control

What is the purpose of I/O? Right now I'm using setcpu with governor set to on demand and a special profile set so when my screen goes off the CPU turns down. My battery life still totally sucks lol

Ah yeah, I haven't used setCPU since I had my incredible, but with those kernels you couldn't change things like I/O scheduler so I didn't know if you could with the right kernel. I definitely prefer voltage control and it seems to just work best with galaxy S phones. There's also Pimp My CPU but I haven't tried it yet.
You can read about I/O schedulers, but usually the default setting is best. You're possibly not really saving battery with a screen off profile that throttles your CPU. I've seen it postulated that with the phone being able to scale up the CPU when the screen is off, it can accomplish whatever it needs to faster, and therefore get to deep sleep faster (where your phone is consuming the least power). Not really sure if it's true, but it sounds plausible. Also, I've seen that glitch V14 has a deep idle feature, which I think in theory at least, is supposed to be even more efficient than deep sleep. I don't know much about it though or how well it's working on the fascinate.
So far, my battery life seems to have taken a bit of a hit with ICS too, but I'd like to put it through a few more charge cycles before making too much of a judgement.
Hi guys
I just want know what's the benefits, difference, advantage, etc. On all the different govenors
Savagedzen
Lazy
Hotplug
Lagfree
Lulzactive
Smartass v2
Interactive
Conservative
Userspace
Powersave
Lionheart
Ondemand
Performance
Thanks in advance guy and thanks for the time to explain
In dsb's thread he has a link to a great write up on each of the kernels

In the OP of the kernel thread where you obviously got your kernel (based on the governors you listed).

Thanks guys I have everything I need
I have iced bean v3 with x kernel and open bl on my ray.what is best cpu max freq. And min freq.and also whats best governor and i/o scheduler.help meeee!!!!!!!!!

no such thing as best this and best that. in fact, they all best.
Just test each of the governors and i/o schedulers yourself and use the one which suits you the best BTW you must have checked some threads like these:

Here you can get complete explanation about everything. Best of luck But remember dont oc above 1.4 GHz as it may burn your CPU(though I don't recommend oc at all). Hope u can get the best possible for ur device and needs
Press THANKS if I helped,
Best Regards,

What do these governors do?
asswax
smartass v2
badass
wheatley
I don't understand. I have switched to them. But can't figure out what they do to manage the CPU frequency.
