hi,
I am currently running CM10 build 201210003
and thinking about flashing to build 20121107
is there any risk of data wipe.
Thanks in advance.
Do you mean like apps, or your sdcard? You can make a nandroid backup if you mean apps.

Thanks for all your efforts FE.

So I just installed bamf forever 1.0.4 and the new lock screens that have the 4 shortcut icons at the bottom aren't appearing. So basically the lock screen just has the time and nothing else.. sorry if this isn't specific enough. Thanks for any help in advance!

Did you go to settings/personalize/lock screen and choose a new lock screen? the settings for choosing your shortcuts are there...

Ya I tried that it still didn't change anything. It used to work, I'm not sure what I could have done to mess it up

Hmm... By "mess it up" I will assume that means you didn't mod your rom or do any 'experimenting' either. If so, I got nuthin. Other than post this on the thread for your custom rom dev and see if they can help you there. Other than that, I'd say revert to your last back up you made of your phone.
However, if you DO come up with a solution, post it here. I'd like to know! Good luck!

If you use Titanium Backup you should be able to save all apps to reload after your wipe. Haven't used it yet myself, but I have seen many posts on this site saying to use this app for just that purpose...

I'm just getting the hang of flashing ROMs and want to try CM7.
I'm on UnNamed now so I'm assuming all I have to do is:
1. go into CWM and complete a backup (done today)
2. go into CWM and do a wipe/factory reset
3. flash the CM7 and google apps from CWM
4. restore from the backup to get all my apps/settings back
Thanks for the support.
Of you do APPS AND DATA only without touching thru system data then yes.

Not sure what you mean by "apps and data" only. I just clicked backup in CWM and figured this back up everything. Are the steps I listed above incorrect?
When you select 'backup' in CWM it creates an entire copy of your system- your ROM, kernel,
Modem, and your Apps and settings. You got the right idea of how to go from ROM to ROM but if you hit restore in recovery you'll just end up flashing back to CM7. nyamoV2 was referring to titanium backup which is used for backing up Apps and settings. I don't use it but from what I gather you never want to restore system data with it. But can be used to back up Apps. Although upon signing into Google market your Apps start downloading again anyway. Its good to make backups in recovery in case something goes wrong flashing a new ROM or theme or whatever.
Accidentally hit 'thanks' trying to modify my post LOL oops

How do I backup all apps and setting in TB? Only see how to do them one at a time
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using Tapatalk
You gotta get the pro version.. It lets you run a batch of ALL your apps instead of doing it 1 by 1

Play around with the settings. CM SETTINGS> Notification power widget> widget buttons.
..I think . I'm actually running UnNamed right now so I forget exactly where the setting is.

God I keep hitting the wrong button
Anyway, that's odd. I'm usually running CM7 as my daily driver and never had any data speed issues. Some users have changed their APN's and that seems to help. I did at one point but reverted back. Oh well

I always do a backup with nandroid if I'm looking to save the rom I'm currently running. Then after that I do a wipe/factory reset then also a format /system. Then install the new rom. Always has worked perfectly.
CM7
is this rom better then unnamed of MiUI?
it would just be alot less time consuming when flashing ROM's to have screens and folders saved. If possible would very much appreciate enlightenment.
thanks

If you use titanium backup you can backup "sense desktop" which will save your screen setups.

Open titanium, click on the backup/restore tab at the top, scroll down prob about half way until you see desktop htc sense, click and backup. When you flash a new rom follow the same process except click restore instead of backup. Restoring your screens can cause issues when flashing between completely different roms but most of the time causes no issues.

Well, don't do that. As has already been said, only restore system data. I personally would reinstall the apps and then restore the data.
Please realize that CM9 is not Samsung based like Omega V18.
Hey guys, I recently updated my friend's i9100G to official JB 4.1.2 firmware.
She reported some random shutdowns if the phone is left for a while without usage, and she had to pull out the battery some times in order to boot up again.
I read about this problem, and it seems pretty common. But sadly haven't found any solution yet.
Anyone help me please? Thanks I really appreciate it

I've stopped using TB because I think it's a bit too aggressive. I use My Backup Pro now. Apps are OK to restore but you might wanna hold off sys settings. Also there's this kernel(s) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2293576 specifically the India release DDLS3's that seems to keep SoDs (sleep of death) out.
