If u mean retrieving a text that is deleted from your phone? No, this is not possible. Unless you back up your texts every night with an app like SMS backup, then ur screwed.

no. i still have the text message. i just need it out of my phone to my pc to print it out or email it.
Just take a screen capture.. Hold volume down and press the power button at the same time. Then it's saved in your gallery.
Then you can email it,print it,frame it or what ever. I would also like to see this text message too.. I'm just curious by nature lol.

In my experience, you can only Bill To Sprint account using the Market App. If I try to do it from the Market website, there is no option for it.

Must have been something recent (in the last year), I didn't have that option when I was on HERO
ok. I just downloaded some of those 10c apps a moment ago. When I first wanted to pay for them, it said, "bill to my sprint account" but it was greyed out and not available.
I saw a little tab saying that I needed to accept new terms from sprint. Once I checked that tab, I was able bill to sprint again.
I do know that I read a while back that this was being discontinued. The overall tone of the comments were not favorable. Perhaps Sprint got some negative feedback and decided to bring that option back with a new terms and conditions.
I think Sprint Did Away with it... But if it Still Works for some then thats Weird! Maybe it has something to do with the Market version your using?

So my note recently has started to announce the names of incoming calls. I hear my ringtone as I normally would, and about 3 seconds into the ringtone, the android "gps voice" speaks the name aloud. At first it startled me, but then I actually liked the feature because I do screen my calls at times and it is helpful when my phone is out of reach. Now however, it has been doing the same thing with my emails. The bad thing is that it decides to do it randomly while I'm at work when my phone is on silent. While on silent, my phone will just "speak" and say "you have 2 new emails" while i'm at work. The email voice has only happened twice so far, but I do not want it to happen again. I did notice that it occurred when my media volume was on...not sure if it is linked to this or if it was just coincidence. Anyone else have this issue or know how to stop it? I figured this was not normal since it did not occur when I first got the phone, and it just activated randomly...

I have used eCID for a couple years. Works for calls, sms, mms, email, calendar, and google talk. It will even read your messages if you so want it to. I used it with loquendo TTS which has been by far the best TTS. But I have to give Samsung credit as Samsung TTS does very well too. But loquendo is still a touch above.

If I recall correctly you can push plan b to your phone from the play website and it'll fire up and trace your phone. This of course depends on if your phone is still linked to your play account. It's worth a shot right? I tested it out a while back and it used gps and tower triangulation and emailed you the coordinates.

Man - I hear your PAIN !! >> seems like few pple are not so honest - even if they find your phone I doubt they would hand it back - sucks
I have had ONE PHONE stollen from my CHECKED LUGGAGE...... ((inside a backpack zipped - than backpack was inside ANOTHER ROLLAWAY luggage) .... Seems the FBI - TSA pple took the Camera SD card and Iphone + another HARD DRIVE !!)) .............. major major pains as I travel a lot and if they wanted to see my DATA = they welcome to do that anyday ,,,, nothing to hide !!
So I found out my "bags" was opened and things taken @ arrival in NEW ORLENS @ and contracted TSA. They jsut 'blow me off' saying " not them" - even though their STAFF told me = the video shows " they are checking your phone and camera" ....
SO I installed "find my phone" and it located the ADDRESS !!! ............. and hours later - it wasnt "alive anymore" so am guess a HAMMER was placed thru it ,,, and dumped!! = no sign ofmy 64GB card !! .............
So I know YOUR PAINS
> here is what u can do >>
since I see from your post , you already have another ANDROID phone
- install PLAN B
- go to settings and enter all the details it asks for lost phone (((( do NOT LOOSE purchase receiopts of your stolen phone)))
- PUSH PLAN B to the lost phone
and watch its " tracking" and location
- call police with Printed locations and or show them the location on your new phone
most times - few police WILL HELP you
often they too busy blah blah
Good luck !! cheers

To further avoid myself, being accused of doing wrong in the essence of good, please SCAN THIS FILE. 2/34 Virus scanners on my end show what I THINK are false positives, personally I RAN THIS and see no ill side effects and monitor my network well. If you feel the least bit threatened or weary about using or downloading this, then please don't. The results don't look like it has been working anyway, I left it here for people to test/play with. Keep that in mind.
This has NOT been tested with the DNA yet, but it is supported, please read the documentation before use.
EDIT: Results don't seem to look good, for this app at all actually. I will leave it if anyone wants to try, but this is the second of a few warnings throughout this post. Don't test it on a phone you want. Although no damages have been reported.
I am not the creator of this one click, but I was told it could be shared freely, as it also describes in the .ZIP contents.
I did not personally try this out myself (My One X is already rooted + S-OFF) so be sure to check it out and read all the documents before trying out this new root exploit.

It did finally pick up my One X after about 10 mins (more like 2), but like I said I'm already rooted. It looks like it supplies a good amount of phones, and with the 3 different methods for rooting, especially the third, hopefully we will see some good results!
I'm not responsible for harm that comes from this file, I have ran and tested it out to SOME EXTENT. Please be aware of this, and like I said, READ THE DOCUMENTATION.
It states it can:
Root Android 2.x
Root Android 3.x
Root Android 4.x
Rooting Phones and Tablets
Supplies S-OFF as well (80% Chance)
So, like I said, try it out and let me know if it works!

Sounds like a driver issue. Have you setup and tested adb on your phone first?
So just heard the news about Google pushing out android device manager. A new find my phone feature. It arrived as an ota by Google. I'm s-off running evilution. Under settings -> security -> device administrators is where it is located. So just an fyi for all you faithfuls still lingering around these neck of the woods.
Visit: https://www.google.com/android/devicemanager
First check in settings -> security -> device administrators to verify google has pushed it to you as seen here. Check mark it to install.
View attachment 2174635
Then check out Google settings located in app drawer. Tap adm at the bottom

Working here!

I'm only seeing it available for my Nexus 7 and my Sammy Epic Touch
Nothing for my EVOLTE or HTC One
I have it on my EVO LTE. Look under Google Settings. I'm using a CM 10.1 ROM

Here's what I get.
Gonna try a different ROM.
Edit: OK I've tried this with GPS on/off, mobile data on/off, 3G/4G, different WiFi locations, and also clean flash of current ROM.
I'm downloading another ROM now to see if that changes anything... If not I guess its my device or something else I'm not seeing.
For what its worth, I am experiencing the same issue as you are. I am currently on slimRom 8.0.

make sure your location settings are all checked
Hmmm, I've got it. I'm on old release of dirty unicorn. I just can't decide if I wanna activate it, it sounds kinda spooky lol . I mean, wouldn't this make it easier for someone else to wipe my device remotely, or set a pin lock I don't know?
What's funny is when I just opened XDA app, on top of the front page was a thread about android device manager, didn't read it.

I got it to work. I had everything checked in Google location setting but it wasn't working still, so I just toggled the Google location service off and than turned it on and I guess that did the trick.

So, is no one else a little leery of the possible applications for this? I mean, what do you guys think the benefits of this are?

Well if you lose your phone, just login with your Google account and locate or wipe your phone. At least that is why i am signing up for this.

Who's gonna be guinea pig and push the wipe button to see what the procedure is? LOL I'd do it but I'm lazy and dont feel like backing up then wiping then reloading it all back up. Yep just lazy.
Android Central did a video on this using Nexus 7

Cool thanks. Solved my curiosity. Though like he said in video, how does it work with custom recovery...same way I'd assume.
