Yes you can, but don't do it manually. You deleted some system folders, instead of just overwriting the necessary files in those folders.
Put this file on your sd-card (direct download, credits to nobodyAtall)
Use flashtool:
Root your phone
Install xRecovery
Reboot into xRecovery
Choose 'Install zip from sd-card' and flash the above zip.
You'll have CWM after a reboot
Or, root your x10 mini (flashtool does an excellent job on this) and then use RecoverX for an easy installation of CWM...
hello ...
i have ics on my galaxy tab gt p6200 and i have a problem rooting it.
here is what i did.
i put the sd card which contains cmw.zip and root .zip
i rebooted into recovery mode and selected install from external storage
i selected cmw.zip
then it loaded in cmw mode and from there i selected root.zip and it is installed successfully.
i read these instructions in a thread in this forum. any way
i rebooted and installed superuser.apk
and the problem now is that when i open a program like root explorer it doesn't ask for permission to have root access. it says "click ok and restart the program to try again make sure you respond correctly to the super user prompt" i did not see any prompt.
there are no programs in the list in superuser to give permission to.
what can i do to give some programs root access?

for me your tab was not really rooted, try using another superuser.apk that really works, use root checker if your tab is really rooted, what I did was rooting using heimdall
Sent from my GT-P6200 using xda app-developers app
Since this information was buried in the other thread I am posting it here for visibility:
This will work only on CWM flashable zip stock (because you need CWM to flash the zip, obviously):
- Flash this first:
http://download.chainfire.eu/396/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.94.zip
- Then flash this:

Now, people are wondering if it's possible to root from OTA/kdz update (like we originally rooted stock JB). In theory it should be. Basically what I did with this root fix is I've added one line to one of init scripts (which all run with root permissions). This line is starting the install-recovery.sh script (which is provided with SuperSU zip package). With KK it's not enough to just drop su binary to /system/xbin - you also have to start daemon (as root). Whatever rooting method you are trying to use has to add a line to one of startup scripts which starts the SuperSU script. If one such method is found please post here, I will also update the OP.

or try a Varcain "kk_root.zip"
consider and report
or for us, and there are many of us, the OTA upgrade, no root and CWM

1) Download and install TowelRoot.
2) Varcain's patch
Add string "/system/etc/install-recovery.sh &" to the end of /system/etc/init.engdo.post_boot.sh
or just simply replace it by Varcain edited version
this file.
It's neccessary to get root after each boot.
NOTE!!! YOU MUST SAVE ORIGINAL PERMISSIONS TO THAT FILE (rw-, r--, r--)
3) Delete last string "/system/etc/install-recovery-2.sh" from the /system/etc/install-recovery.sh
NOTE!!! YOU MUST SAVE ORIGINAL PERMISSIONS TO THAT FILE (rwx, r-x, r-x)
Congratulation! You get rooted phone
IMPORTANT NOTE:
When I did it the first time, I tried to install SuperSU 2.0 from the Market. He did not want to upgrade properly. Finally I got a soft-broken phone and repaired it by kdz firmware flasher. I'm not sure that the reason of soft-brick was SuperSU, but without it root works fine.
since I'm not a programmer, I would ask Varcain and opportunity that we end up CWM,
so that we enjoy the OTA UPDATE CM11, PA Rom 4.4.3 .......

Hi Varcain
Please could you update "varcain_rootfix.zip" for SuperSU v 2.01?
With the current "rootfix" does not work, and still wants to install SU binary.
Thanks for your work.
Sorry bad English.

I have seen a way for cwm to kitkat in a polish forum.
Instructions:
You must have adb.
1 Extract the zip on PC
2 Connect your phone to a PC with USB debugging enabled
3 Open the folder and press "shift" and the right mouse button
4 Select "Open command window here"
Follow the commands now:1 adb push aboot.img / data / local / tmp
2 adb shell
3 su
4 dd if = / data / local / tmp / aboot.img of = / dev / block / platform / msm_sdcc.1 / by-name / aboot
5 exit
6 exit
7 adb push loki_flash / data / local / tmp
8 adb push recovery.img / data / local / tmp
9 adb shell
10 su
11 cd / data / local / tmp
12 chmod 777 loki_flash
13 ./loki_flash recovery recovery.img
14 reboot recovery
After your phone will reboot in cwm mode. When i did it rebooted automatically with an error:HW reset was detected.Dont worry just press the turn on button for 20 sec and the phone will reboot without giving that error again.
Big thanks to szymel00 a user of a polish android forum.
The link for the zip: (http://d-h.st/2kk)
Tested without any virus.
I didn't have to flash anything
I used the app KingRoot(not in appstore). It just rooted and it was just done. Later that day it rooted jelly bean version as well.
PS! You have to allow unknown sources when running apk-s from outside play store.
#Root : Use Framaroot 1.6.0 app for rooting.
Download it from xda-forum,open it and click on
"Boromir" then reboot your phone. Now your w70
is rooted successfully and you'll get Superuser
app in your app drawer.
#Install Busybox : Download and open then give
superuser permission, then click on Install. Keep
your internet connection on. You'll see Busybox
is installed on your Symphony W70.
#Install TWRP and take a backup of your stock
ROM :
Download the .img file i provided and put it in your phone
storage. Just phone storage, not in folder.
Download Mobile Uncle MTK Tool from
playstore.open it and give root permission. Now
click on Recovery Update and later, click on
recovery.img. Now a promt will appear,click Yes.
You'll be asked Reboot To Recovery? Click OK.
Now your w70 will reboot in TWRP recovery, here
click on backup and mark boot, recovery and
cache then slide to backup. It'll backup your
entire system,data,cache,boot.img and recovery.
Now after backup completed, reboot your system.
Go to file manager and open your memory card.
You'll see a backup folder is created named
TWRP,don't delete it. So,if your w70 is bricked
any time, simply pull out battery then put it
back, press and hold both power button+volume
up button. Your TWRP menu will be out! Simply
click on restore and your backup will be restored.
Now you can reboot your phone!
#Change Storage Partition : You know that
w70's phone storage is only 2 gb. That's why
you can't play HD games with size of above 2GB
like GTA San Andreas,Gangstar Vegas,NOVA 3
etc. And to play games in w70,the game data
must be kept in phone storage. Don't worry, with
this trick you can turn your entire memory card
into your phone storage.
©Things needed:
1.TWRP backup[strongly recommended]
2.Es File Manager
3.A small file called vold.fstab i provided
4.Some idea of system partition
Now download the file i provided and Put it
somewhere. Now open Es File Manager,go to
tools>root explorer and give root permission.
Then again click on root explorer ans click on
Mount R/W. Mark both dot as R/W and save it.
Now copy the extracted vold.fstab and paste it
in device/system/etc. A promt will appear asking
to overwrite, click yes. Now reboot your phone
and voila!....Your external memory card is
showing as your phone memory!
Thank You!
How to root symphony r40??
How to root symphony r40
Hi,
I'm using the last Envi-ROM based in stock 23.0.1.A.0.167 and I would like to disable the charger plugged in notification so I tried to remove ChargerPluggedIn.ogg from /system/media/audio/ui but it says that it's an only read file and I can't do it. I'm root and I tried with RootExplorer, ES File Explorer, ADB (mv, chmod,...) but I'm not able to change the permissions neither the file nor /system folder.
Any idea?
Thanks in advance
So i just changed the permissions of that file with rom toolbox lite to 777 without issues. I also moved it up a directory without issue. Maybe try that app ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/...+lite&pcampaignid=APPU_EaWoVMe9Nce7mwWlnILYCw)
If you still have issues why don't you backup your phone and redownload envi-rom zip. Open the zip and navigate to the file and delete it. Then install that moded zip file and restore your data from the backup?
You can try to remove this file via file explorer in recovery, like for example aroma explorer.
Sent from Xperia Z2
Nope no good. Could only see /system/bin/ no other directories.
Thanks a lot for your comments. I tried toolbox with the same result as the previous tries. With aroma explorer I can only access to /system/bin/. So no luck for the moment. It seems that the only solution is install again the ROM without the file, but I still looking for other alternatives first.
Here is the solution: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2/general/4-4-4-sony-ric-killer-t2953141
