Ahh Kies................ Nightmare
Make sure you do these before you carry on..
1. Make sure your admin
2. Restart
3. Make yourself a brew or Coffee
4. Search the hell outta google..
just a few things off the top of my head you could try..
Try loading windows in diagnostic startup mode> Hit start, run, type"msconfig", select diagnostic, restart, install kies..
If that dosent work revert back the changes you have made..Dont forget to make a restore point too..You could always revert back to before you installed kies

Tried everything you said...Still kies doesn't work and gives same error...Maybe you could tell me how do I I9300 jb ota..I from india...Youmobile.org says its available...But here there is not even a hint of an update...Samsung service centre guys say wait indefinitely for update and that we will get a call or sms from samsung when its released...Is this realistic information, mate???

KIES is a nightmare... it is an epic fail... iam not suggesting JB update via kies or OTA is a good option. try flash JB using ODIN. it is the safest and relaiable way to update (atleast for me). you an find ROM in SamMobile.com. download and flash... enjoy JB
the samsung will not intimate update via call or sms. u may check update in settings>about device>software update.

Sorry it didnt work.. Have you got a friends pc to try it on...??
As post above states ODIN - Try that method.. it should work ..use a guide from the stickies - good luck again

You should also try to clean/fix your registry. Try CCleaner, it's a pretty good program.

[Q] Emergency need help ASAP! Firmware upgrade failed totally

Hi all,
I hope somebody will reply immediately. I wanted to upgrade my Gf's phone to a new firmware update.
The upgrade process got stuck at 22% while downloading and the power went off.... KIES said that i should run emergency recovery....
Now when i turn on the phone i get a sign of a mobile phone connected to a PC with an exclamation mark.
What can i do ? my questions are the following..
1 is there a way to unbrick and how?
2 i had backed up all the contacts and information ? are they saved because i do not want my gf to lose all her photos and information?
Guys help.. nobody can save me from the woman's wrath.
Remove battery for a minute. Put battery back in. Put device in download mode. Use Odin to flash firmware.
Use search function to find out how to do anything you don't understand above.
here is the pic i get
a mobile phone a triangle/exclamation point and a PC!

Did you bother to read and do anything from the post above?
i did... it cannot get into download mode..
What did you do when you try to get into download mode?
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A
OK i got into download mode and through KIES i am now in EMERGENCY RECOVERY...
the problem that it is stuck at 16% for over 5 minutes now. is that normal?
shall i use KIES or ODIN to flash the normal firmware?
also where i can find my gfs data that i backed up in my PC?
Look at the settings in Kies where you backed up the data to.
Is the blue bar on the phone moving? I don't use Kies to flash my device because I don't trust it.
Ok, it seems as if you want to do things your way so good luck with Kies.

[Q] Galaxy s3 firmware upgrade through kies is not supported on my device?

I updated Kies and connected my S3 to see if there were any updates
Kies says my device doesnt support firmware upgrades through kies..is this true or do I need to reinstall kies as I previously used it with my S2
Meaning is usually one their is actually no update for you yet .
Or you have none official firmware .
Solution as always same as SGS2
Wait Or use CHECKFUS or download stock firmware from sammobile or from stock firmware post or from stock rom thread .
jje
hmmm, strange way of writing this message ?
Anyway, I am still running official stock so I will wait untill there is a new firware available for The Netherlands
For the time being I am testing battery life with this one
Not to bad I must admit. First battery cycle 7 hours on screen time
have you rooted or has your CSC changed? that error is also tied to incorrect CSC codes
haven't done anything so far.
Just took it out of the box and started to play with it ;-)
using mac or pc?
This is using a PC running Windows 7 and last version of Kies
if all is well with kies it should look like this

This is what mine shows :
you could flash stock unbranded GT-I9300_PHN_I9300XXALE8_I9300PHNALE4_I9300XXLE8
http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=8&view=4666
maybe that'll fix it, bit of a strange one to have that problem out of the box?
I thought it might have something to do with the fact that I used to connect with my S2 and Galaxy tab 8.9 ?
When you suggest to flash the LE8 this would be using ODIN ?
yes,

check my previous post for your stock unbranded firmware link
Thanks for your help
O, I also found that problem when I tried to update my Galaxy Y, I think the application has some problem. And I have downloaded the latest version of the Kies, its sucksss...So I update my mobile via mobile, so you should update it via your phone going to about>software update....

[Q] Flashing fail

I've got stock XWLPD firmware in my phone and I tried to flash CF-Root in it.
After clicking start button, Odin started to check for SetupConnection. It took under a minute and then it said: "Can't open the serial (COM) port" and the red Fail! thing popped up.
What's wrong and how to fix this?
I've got a picture of it:

Do you have drivers installed? If you installed Kies, then you have drivers. But also make sure Kies isn't running when you run Odin; they don't play well together.
Looks like I don't have some SM Bus Controller. I tried to update it but Windows Update doesn't find right drivers and I'm not sure what's the right driver if I try to update it manually.
KIES says I've got a new official XWLPG firmware update. Is it possible that updating my phone would fix my drivers?
I just didn't want to update it yet because I can't find it from XDA if I need to flash it back after trying to root again...

check your pm mate
Yes, I made it!
I tried to update all drivers but that didn't work very well.
Then I uninstalled and then reinstalled KIES and downloaded the drivers again and now it works and I've got a rooted phone now.

After updated to JB 4.1.1 (i9300XXDLH7)

Hi all,
When I was on ICS, my USB connection is okay, after flashed to JB 4.1.1 (i9300XXDLH7) is not recognized anymore. Please refer to the print screen pic. I cannot go back to ICS via Odin.
I've try to another computer but still the same issues. Also, I've try to install Samsung's USB driver here (https://androidfirmwares.net/Tools/Download/9)

If you have Kies uninstall it and re install if you dont have it install it, then plug in your phone and see if the drivers install correctly it worked for me last time I had a problem similar to this
I just install Kies and try as you advised, still not working, here are the exact error here. Any more ideas?
Some suggestions here:
-Try different usb cables and port.
-Turn off your phone and take out battery for a few minutes.
-Hope you have nandroid backup your ICS rom, restore back your backup.

Uninstall the devices manually in device manager, don't forget to tick the "delete the driver ' option, now restart your pc and install the drivers either from online or through kies
《tapatalked from galaxy s3》
Problem solved!
I try few thing here:
1. Uninstall Kies, turn off my laptop
2. Install Kies.
3. Restart my SGS3
4. Use new USB cable (old connection still recognized by HTC sensation)
I'm not sure which one if the right problem but I try the above steps and it's working now.
Thanks for the suggestions and advised.
Cheers,
imkr
Just install the s3 root kit ith drivers onto your computer, you not have to root your hone, just use the drivers to get it to recognise your phone

[Q] "Access to the software update service is provided to users..." Update Error??

[Q] "Access to the software update service is provided to users..." Update Error??
I had my phone rooted, then unrooted it via the method on here (as I thought I was going to sell it... crazy I know!) and now I can't update to JellyBean??
Anyway, I've been running it on the Samsung stock ICS as I knew the JB update was coming. So the JB update is here and I've been trying to update to it via my phone by going through SETTINGS > ABOUT PHONE > SOFTWARE UPDATE. All I receive now is this message...
"Access to the software update service is provided to users in the order in which they request it. Try later."

maybe he doesn't want to use that bloated malware that doesn't remove all the files it installs when uninstalled.
