Hey,
I got the lumia from a friend, it was working flawlesly under his account,
I went and did a full clean up for the phone through the menus.
the microsoft "wheels" started spinning for a while, it didn't seem to end, I must have pushed the power button assuming
it will just power up again.
well, it does not,
I tried soft and hard reset but the outcome is withe a NOKIA logo centered in the screen it stays there foreever (I gave it a good 15 minutes to try to see if its doing anything),
on another occation it now shows a lightning sign (no nokia sign) with a smaller "wheel" near by. again stays for good 15 minutes and nothing happens.
its now connected to the power, but I have no idea how to try to proceed.
frustrating, all I did is a clean up and the phone won't boot..
ANY help mostly appreciated,

I am in the same boat after trying to flash an Australian ROM onto my Rogers Lumia 920. If you don't live in North America you should be able to download Nokia Care Suite and use the Product Support Tool for Store to refurbish or recover the phone. If you live in North America then you will need to wait for a North American ROM to be available. Hopefully soon! Now that the phone is officially released by AT&T I have been checking, almost every hour, for the ROMs. Still nothing. Hopefully with Rogers official release on Monday we will see something.
I'm struggling to understand why would a "factory" out of the box phone will fail to boot.
I have not flashed or rommed anything,
I'm sure I'm doing something wrong because its not logical,
any other suggestions?

Is it charged?
Well, hard to tell,
The situation is that it stays pretty much put on the NOKIA logo in the center of the screen.
Sometimes, with some key sequence I'm yet to "nail" I can get it into a mode where it briefly shows an image of a battery with some red, and an image of an
electric outlet (not sure if it says "connect me" or "I'm connected") but this shows for 4 times (each time disappears) and then the phone goes back to black
then the NOKIA logo in the center.
I've connected it to various computers, charges etc. nothing seem to make an impression on this crazy issue.
hints very welcome,

A short update, and not a very cheerful one,
I handed it here to a local mobile tech shop to try fix it, the guy worked on it (not opening just trying to charge it etc) and
came back to me saying that their (hidden technition forums I guess) forums say it will take a month until they fully understannd how to fix
these devices,

I just received an s740 (Orange branded) that I bought on ebay. All worked well, but the theme was pink, from it's last owner. I thought I'd do a factory reset instead of simply changing the theme.
So I turned it off, held the vol down and central nav button, powered up, hit vol up to restore settings... everything said it was doing it's job...
Now when I boot up, I get the orange boot screen, the version numbers etc in the bottom corner, then the black screen with the orange logo for about 20 seconds, then all I get is a white screen with 'mobile operator' written in a circle and nothing else.
What's going on?
I've just tried it again, and now all I get is the orange logo on a black screen and nothing else. I can't power down or anything.
Help!! Do I need to reflash it somehow? TBH I was looking to reflash it to remove the orange branding anyway (I'm waiting for my unlock code to arrive from an ebay seller to use my t-mobile sim)
I hope someone can help, I've only held this phone for 5 minutes, not even made a call on it yet!
Typical!! As soon as I posted...
I reset it again for a 3rd time and now it seems to be installing it's software again as it should!
... and now it works again!! Phew!! Panic over!
Anyone point me to how I to about de-branding it?
Thanks
I bought my HD2 about 3 weeks ago. Used from Australia (I live in NZ where the phone is not available yet). I got it from eBay, it's supposed to be 2 months old.
Phone worked fine, installed a cooked rom and everything was going great until a few nights ago.
I was playing badminton and had the phone in my pocket. When I took it out, it wasn't responding. So I pulled the battery out and when I tried to turn it back on, all I got was a white screen. I don't know if having the phone in my pocket while playing badminton had anything to do with it, but I didn't fall or anything.
Since then I've tried turning on hundreds of times. Most of the time it's a white screen with a slight yellow tint. Sometimes it's a normal white. Some other times it's a white screen with 'HTC', but in each case, it doesn't go beyond the white screen.
Have tried doing a hard reset, and it says it's successful, but when it reboots, same thing.
Have got it into the mode where you can flash the ROM (hold vol down when turning on), and when I tried to flash the cooked rom, it gets to 1% then resets. When I tried to flash an HTC rom, it just sits at 0% and eventually Windows gives me an error.
Have talked to HTC, and it seems I have to send my phone back to Australia to get fixed. But the service centers in Australia need a receipt/proof of purchase in order to fix it under warranty.
So it looks like I can't get it repaired without paying for it myself.
Does anyone have any ideas what's going on? Or can suggest something else I can try to bring it back to life?
Thanks
HI First time here for me.
I was surfing the net on my t989 and the screen went black. I try to restart but the phone vibrates for one second and nothing happens. I took out the battery and SIM card and put back the battery, push ON button, phone vibrates but do not start. I try to charge but it vibrates every 5 seconds, but it doesn't start. The phone is new - one month - just install 9-10 aplications. Please help. Thanks
Same thing happened to my SGS..power IC was damaged in mine.

Have you underclocked/undervolted it at any stage? If so, try using ODIN to restore to stock, if you can even get into Download Mode. If not, send it into a Samsung Service Center.
Yes it sounds like it is not charging and the battery is flat! With the phone OFF you should briefly see a picture of the battery when you plug the phone into the charger.
Try putting in a fully charged battery from an another S2.
Can you get to Download mode (Powered off, press Vol up+Home+Power at the same time) or Recovery mode (Powered off, press Vol up+Home+Power)? If not, then you're in really bad waters...
Hi,
Thank you for your answer. I did't do anything to this phone since I bought it. Just 9 apps dowloaded. Worked fine and yesterday it got dead. I just do light web surf and some emails. Do you have any idea, please? I hate to have to returned since I'm in Canada and I couldn't even register this phone with samsund.com sice it is allowed only US addresses.

If you can't even get into Download Mode, as detailed above, really you're out of options for the most part. Looks like returning it is your only option.

Black screen
I have a SGS2 which turn on but the screen stays black have tried to reset and also reload formware but still stays black
Good day everyone,
My problem started a month and a half ago, but in a different form. The battery of my Motorola Razr (Non-US) went too low, and it only showed the bright white light whenever I tried to charge it. This is an error code that means that the battery ran so low that it is now in a protective mode that you can only get it out with higher amounts of amperage, using a cable that I don't have myself. I returned it to the store, they sent it to the motorola factory, and I got it back yesterday. Now, it might be important for me to note that I live in the Netherlands; the nearest Motorola factory was the one in Germany. It took a solid 5 weeks for me to get my phone back.
Right, so today/yesterday I tried to turn on my phone, excited to have it back after such a long time. It got stuck in a bootloop. All it does is show the red/white M, with dual core below it. This is the first screen you normally see when you boot the phone. After a second or 5, the screen goes black, only to be replaced by the red/white M, this time without the dual core text. After a while ripples start to show around the M, but without vibrations. The menu buttons also do not light up. Normally the same happens, but it vibrates rather violently and the menu buttons do light it; it means that the phone is booting the firmware.
The phone keeps this up for a few minutes, after which it starts all over again, from the red/white M with the dual core text. It does does indefinitely, until the battery runs out. It doesn't shut down in between, so this takes quite a while. I tried forcing it to reboot with the volume down + power button (which is a hardware reboot), but that just makes the cycle start over again. Very, very rarely (usually after looping for about an hour), the phone DOES go on. However, it soon crashes again, being on between 10 seconds and 5 minutes.
Now here is what I think happened. Before I sent the phone to the factory, I was running an old version of android, still in Gingerbread. I don't know exactly what firmware it used, but it was rather old, maybe half a year at least. However, now that I have it back, I appear to have been updated to ICS 4.0.4. The firmware running on the phone is also new (obviously), version 672.180.41.XT910.NonEFIGSRetail.en.EU (EU for Europe obviously, and NonEFIGS for non English, French, Italian, German and Spanish) as I live in the Netherlands. Now what I figure has happened is that the factory tried to flash my phone to the new firmware after they had fixed the issue, and the update didn't take.
Now, I could obviously return the phone to the store again and have them repair it, but that will take another month. Also, the store is very disappointing to say the least; they will not give me a replacement phone in the meantime, which is very bothersome. So I'd rather try and solve the problem myself.
However, I don't know how to flash 672.180.41.XT910.NonEFIGSRetail.en.EU again. All the instructions or guides that I have found so far only refer to the American version of the phone, or require me to be able to access the phone (turn it on). I can however access the boot menu with volume + volume - power held together, which lets me access the AP Fastboot menu.
Could anyone give me instructions what to do from there? I already did a factory reset, which did nothing to fix the situation.
I did find this link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1837971
But I'm not sure how to proceed with that.
Note: If I'm on the wrong path with trying to fix it all, please do say so! By no means do I want to screw up the situation any further, as I could still have it repaired for free, it just takes a long time and I'd rather not.
Note2: If I am missing any crucial info, please let me know too!
Edit/Delete Message
Alright, so maybe I should modify the title.. I tried using the method in
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1837971
But I'm afraid that only made the situation worse. My phone now automatically boots into AP Fastboot, giving the message that the flash has failed.
Now I understand that I should be able to just re-flash it, but I would be very thankful if someone could point me to the right files/procedure, as almost everything I can find is for the US version, and I'd rather keep the EU version with my language pack and all.
Thanks in advance
Resolved Bootloop problem
Hi Dazm;
I had the exactly the same problem and i resolved it yesterday. You need to flash a custom ROM for in order for it to work again, but you battery is to low to do this e.g. if you hold both volume+ - down and keep power button for 10sec and go to fastboot ap, it would indicate this.
So what i did was the extreme lol, i created my own factory cable, I bought a usb data cable cut of the one end (micro usb) stripped the red and black coded wires, removed the back cover of the Motorola Razr XT910, and you will notice at the bottom corner of the phone is a positive + negative - with screws. I connected the red wire to the positive + and the black wire to the negative - and the other end of the usb to my computer. This will charge for 1 hour 15min, once this is done, you will need to download RSD lite 5.7 and install on pc, download stock ROM and flash the ROM with RSD lite and there you go. Mine work 100%, sorry if im not to clear, was in a rush.

Thanks for the reply! I'm not sure this is the issue though, I can still charge my phone (It's at 100% now), and it says Battery OK in the fastboot menu. However, exactly which custom ROM I need to flash is the main part of my problem, I think.
Interesting, I'm going to have to keep my eye on this thread.
I am experiencing the same thing, after an OTA update to 672.180.41.XT910.Retail.en.FR from GB. I also experiencing a rebooting loop with the occasional boot that last about 5 minutes. Clueless about what to do at this time. Maybe flashing with a fastboot file found here.
Hopefully you can resolve your problem and help me solve mine in the process. Unlike you, it's improbable at this time to have my phone service by Motorola; Moto US won't touch because it has French software, Moto FR would fix the phone (after I cover the service and postage) but will not sent it back to me because I have an American address.
Hey there. Out of nowhere today my phone rebooted on it's own and is now stuck on the "LG Life's Good" splash screen. I have the AT&T version (H900) and bone stock everything (I have not messed with bootloaders or rooting or anything). I tried removing the battery and this also does nothing. Anyone else have this issue and know what to do to fix it?
Thanks
Update: After letting the phone sit for about 20 minutes it magically booted and is now working fine... not sure what happened.
Have you tried doing a factory reset of you phone?
1) Turn off the phone.
2) Then hold down the Volume Down and Power button together for a couple of seconds.
3) As soon as the LG logo is displayed, let go of the Power key, keep pressing the Volume Down and then press once more the Power button.
Afterwards you should see a factory reset menu on your screen.
4) Confirm process by choosing appropriate options using Volume rockers to navigate and Power button to confirm.
5) Now your phone should restart.
6) Success! The hard reset has just been completed.
I am having this same problem.
Was using Pandora and GPS. It cut off and has not come back on. I attempted to open in safe mode recovery mode l and tried to-do a factory reset.
When I did the reset It went through the erasing process but when it rebooted it stayed on the LG screen. I've tried all the "common" trouble shooting suggestions... Its been two hours now.
Any new experiences with this issue?
Im also having the same issue with my V10 - Verizon model. Watching a YouTube video and it reset and got stuck on the LG logo splash screen. Followed instructions to do a factory reset and after about 45 min of being stuck on the factory reset screen after I confirmed it reset and booted up. All data and setting were still saved, and after about 3-5 minutes it reset again and went right back to being stuck on the LG splash screen.
Any other advice? or is it just dead?
I am having the same issue with my stock AT&T V10. It randomly turned off, then I couldn't even get it to turn on. No charge screen. No Life's Good. I took out the battery and it would get to the blinking red question mark, but there is no way that I can see that I can use the phone without the battery. Sometimes the phone will boot to the LG screen, but mostly it will not. Even if it does, it will shut down after 3 mins or so.
Once I tried to hard reset it, and the phone just vibrated until i took the battery out. So I dont know whats going on. The phone has been running warm when playing Pokemon Go so maybe that's the culprit? Not like I was playing it all the time though.
Luckily I moved *most* of the new baby pictures over to the microSD. Ugh, I hope I can get the rest!

@jjall Very odd. Glad I am not the only one, though! I chatted with an AT&T service tech last night and he basically said he has no idea what is going on, but what he read about something similar indicated that the phone and all the files are most likely corrupted. Luckily I moved most of the photos over to the extra microsd, I am going to an AT&T service center to see if they can work any magic and retrieve any other files. Last night the tech started a warranty replacement and the new(ish) phone is on its way.
I did get it to boot to the white safe mode screen but was not ready to say erase all, just in case it erases the photos. I chose to restart the phone and nothing, just black. Every once in a while the phone will just vibrate for 30 seconds before shutting down while the screen is black. Other times I get the soft vibrate as though it is turning on, but nothing happens. Some times I get the LG screen, but then that just turns off. No rhyme or reason except that I at least get some response after the phone and battery have been apart for a while.
I'll update when I get back.

Yeah. I get the same thing. I'm taking it to att today to see if anything can be done. My only problem is that I dropped the phone a few months ago, the only time i've dropped it, and lens came off without me noticing. I'm pretty sure that voids the warranty. Either way, i'll see if i can pay for an upgrade or something. Good luck to you.

My guys said they could not do anything, but as I was playing with the phone, it magically came to life! I was in the process of moving all the photos to the microsd, then it froze, crashed, then wouldn't turn on. So it's possible! They mentioned taking it to a cell-phone tech place to see if they could do anything as they have better tools to help fix things. Dunno what that would do to the warranty. The tech guys did say they dont carry any spare parts or batteries for the V10 because it never has a problem. I told them that there is a rash going around and they might see it soon.
I did notice that the colder i kept the phone, the more of a chance that it would *at least* turn on, before crashing. So at least there is hope...somewhere. Hoping a new battery will help maybe, even though it seems to be a hardware issue.
How's your luck @jjall?

Actually, i just got home and I decided to try out to see if it worked. I got the 0% battery sign. Plugged it in and it actually seems to be charging! So i'm hopeful. I also noticed that my phone has been getting hot lately. And that my battery life was crap. But that's just LG. I talked to an ATT customer service rep. and they told me that I could have the camera lens replaced so that my phone would be covered for an exchange. Even if it turns on, i'm going to exchange it just as soon as save all my files. Hopefully they'll take it now that it's working....
EDIT
it decided to turn on while it was charging. Froze on booting screen. It was HOT. Like I almost dropped it.
Hmm, I was going to say "CONGRATS!" but sorry. Did the battery get hot or did the phone itself get hot? Feels like mine is getting hot at or near where the led flash is. Gonna let it stay in this LG welcome screen for a bit and find out. I'm wondering if a new battery would help, but I have to wait until the 19th though before my replacement shows up.
Also, were you playing Pokemon go before? Wondering if that is what started this all.
Hello!
So the same thing happened to me. I was not playing any games on my phone. I had JUST clocked out of work using an application on my phone and sent a text. It has turned off on its own and didn't want to even turn back on. I removed the battery and set it back in.. it turned on to the LG screen and stayed until it blacked out again shortly after.
Same issue with TMO LG V-10 here. Was using phone and it went black and shut down. Now in a loop with the LG boot screen. It tried a few times then just goes black.
Well I just got my replacement and the new battery didn't do anything to help the broken phone. Guess I am going to lose some important pictures. I have a few days to keep on trying before I have to send it back to AT&T. Interesting this is happening to a few people all around the same time.
@Buzzbee21 did you notice your phone running hot at all before the shut down? Mine was running hot a lot, so maybe the heat protection is the problem.
At time yes. Not so much when it did quit. However, I left it sit on a fan and chilled it, and one time when I was able to get to the wipe screen, before it quit again, it got very hot in the afformentioned area.
Less than a year old. Getting a warranty replacement, but still disappointed as I think having the replaceable battery and abiltiy to put a large Micro SD card in it, along with the finish, camera, and Audio make the V10 one of the nicest phones out there.

this may sound weird but the same thing happen to me.... put the phone in the freezer for a while then boot it up but be prepared to get your pics, music, etc off of it quick... mine works fine until it warms up to room temp, then back in the freezer it goes to do it again... did it like 4 times today and saved over 1600 pics, bunch of videos and music. (saved them to a mircoSD card)
Wow. This happened to me last night, and I thought it was the weirdest thing. I wasn't even using my phone. It was sitting on my dinner table, and I noticed the screen on with the LG logo. I went over and picked it up. It stayed on the logo a few minutes, so I took the battery out. Then I turned it on, nothing but LG screen. I kept messing with it with a combination of Power/volume down and finally got it to come on to my home screen. It worked for about five minutes before being wonky again. I took the batter out all night. I'm hoping that I can get it to come on again today (I've tried 10 times and not been able to) so that I can make sure the developer options is checked, then I can hook it to the computer and mess around with it.
Thanks for this thread. It seems most of us just started having this issue in August. I'm planning on getting the V20 next month, but I need this one to last until then. haha Please keep us updated if anyone figures anything out and I will do the same.

SO, not saying this will help anything but, after messing around with the phone for several hours I've learned this:
If you take the battery out, then plug it into your laptop, then turn it on: a battery icon will pop up with a ? on it.
From there, if you hold down the VOLUME down key, and insert the battery, it will take you into the quick boot menu automatically. Unfortunately I never set that up, and not it will not allow me to set it up. I assumed I could get to safe mode from there. This is the first time I've seen where I would have to "set up" the quick boot menu. This is my first LG phone though. I usually use HTC, or MOTO.
Now, the more interesting thing is, begin as I did last time.
Phone off, battery out, plug into computer, power on. Then hold the UP volume key as you insert the battery and it will take you to your "Tethering" option. So for most of you that have this problem, maybe you will be able to get the data to back it up. Unfortunately for me, it tells me I have to do a Firmware update first, and to not unplug the USB connection until it is complete. If your firmware is up to date, maybe it will allow you to do back up (I thought my firmware was up to date, but guess not).
I hope this helps someone, and I do hope that someone can build on what I've done so far so we can figure out how to at least get our data off the phone.

The phone got hot. It was getting hot starting from around the power buttons. And it sometimes got hot before i downloaded pokemon go. Not as often, but it happened from time to time. I think it might be because i'm no longer using the original power usb cable.... idk. Just waiting for a replacement.
Can you say the first 3 digits of the serial number of the device to boot loop problem?
