What do you mean by full wipe? Wiped dalvik cache, cache partition and data/factory reset in recovery
Sorry, I mean wipe data/factory reset + wipe cache partition. Or if you have backup of stock ROM, you can restore it.

What's the imei being displayed? You might have a corrupted EFS.

Good news. It's not a corrupted EFS. What do you get when you enter #*1234# into the dialer?

Its says "Mobile network not available"
Any news? Same situation.. emergency calls only..
I tried to restore efs folder but I have not solved..
Imei dispalyed is correct.
Service State: Out of Service.
Roamning: Not Roaming
Mobile Network State: Disconnected.
when the phone boots it ask the sim pin code.
but emergency calls only..
Whoops. It should be *#1234# and automatically take you to a screen giving the PDA, PHONE, CSC and build info values.
Same problem here?
my IMEI is ok.
How did you solve it?
My SGSII is not rooted.
*#1234# gives:
PDA: I9100BUKJ3
PHONE: I9100BUKI1
CSC: I9100SFR§KI3
Build info:mon oct 17 14:37:12 KST 2011
Enter network settings APN etc manually and test .
jje
APNs are right (set manually)

Hi,
I'm currently on a CyanogenMod rom. I need to flash back to a stock ICS if i want to flash an AOKP or other rom or just install over CyanogenMod ?
Download a stock ICS ROM off sammobile.com, put your phone in download mode and flash via Odin. If you want another custom ROM, download the .zip file, put on SD Card, do all wipes in CWM and flash.
Chris.

I'm on custom ics now and wanna flash the AOKP rom.
And do i need to do all wipes before and after flashing any rom ?
Your safer to. Prevents any force closures or other app problems. Just do cache partition wipe, data wipe/factory reset, dalvik cache wipe and battery stats wipe. Then flash ROM, and then re-wipe cache partitions and run fix permissions. That should prevent any problems. Also, none of your data will be wiped off your SD card. Also, make sure you back up your EFS folder to protect your IMEI, there is a developer on here that makes the Advanced EFS back up application. Use it as a precaution!

Ok flashing complete. Now i need to reboot and then again go into recovery and do all wipes or immediately when completed flashing without reboot ?
Do them now as a precautionary procedure. And that should be you!

Thanks 4 help
Check your IMEI by dialling *#06# and make sure it is the same as the one on the box of your phone. If it is, back it up immediately if you haven't done so already with the application I mentioned in my previous post. You'll thank me later when you need it and have it backed up!

Well back it up. I may sound pushy, but you don't know how often people post here saying how their IMEI isn't the same. That causes a LOT of problems!

[Q] Emergency calls only after flashing custom ROM

Hi,
Have searched around the forum looking for a solution to my problem. I have seen many threads about the same situation that I am in, however none of them have given me an answer.
I cannot make calls/texts or use mobile data.
I am on 3 network and can confirm that the SIM is working fine as I have used it in another phone.
The IMEI number remains intact, and I had made a backup of the EFS prior to making any changes to the phone.
Signal bars appear however a message saying 'Emergency calls only' does also.
Puzzled as to what this problem is,
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Have done a restore and still nothing has changed. I though that if the efs was corrupt, then my serial and imei would be also?
"No sim card" error is not solved yet (27/02/13)
Same problem here. Problem is reported in other threads with different situations. Some were lucky and just managed to get rid of it by re-inserting the sim card but most are stuck with it. Wondering if it's not an issue with ICS/JB

Change the csc with an app of the market and set it to your region. That might work.

[Q] Wiped out IMEI by accident

I was trying to install a modem for t-mobile to get their 4g as my phone is unlocked. I seem to have either wiped out the imei or something because now my computer doesn't detect the unit being there but I do have CMW that I can reboot to. Is there something in there I can try to reinstall?
What steps did you follow?

[Q] Network problem.

I'm sorry if this has been posted already. Can't seem to find any thread.
The thing is I updated my s3 from 4.0.4 to 4.3 directly via Odin.
And now I'm getting an "Emergency calls only" error.
I tried reading every thread. If there is someone who would help me??
Please.
Thanks.
Can you see your imei etc in about phone?

Yes. The IMEI and serial number are intact.
When I call on that number, I can hear a ring.
But phone doesn't notify!
Have you cleared the cache (and dalvik if rooted)?.
Factory reset?.

Yes. I tried data, cache, dalvik wipes.
Nothing helps.
Will going back to ics help?
I have the efs backup. But it's v1
Usual reason a phone is on old firmware is the efs had been badly repaired and won't work with v2 firmwares.
