[/COLOR]BTW, the quick memo app puts a signature "lg quick memo" (annoying) at the bottom right of pictures. I found that this can be turned off in the settings, so if the automatic screenshot (vol dn + pwr) doesn't work this will be a reasonable work around, but I would like to be able to do it the easier way if possible.

Figured it out. It is timing sensitive. I had allowed too great a gap between the first and second press. I wonder if this can be adjusted or if a different combo or shortcut can be used/created. Thanks for your friendly replies/suggestions. :victory::highfive:
Random: Unrelated, but I can't wait for the JB update. I had been running jellytime on my inspire and feel like, regarding the LGOG, a great phone is being held back by an OS that is now two updates behind. Hoping once official JB update is out, we can start to see some custom JB roms as well. Not sure if that is how it works, but would think that it would help to have the factory/carrier rom as a point of reference would be a positive step. Too bad they are only updating to 4.1. Anybody think we'll see some 4.2 roms anytime soon? The development threads don''t seem to have a whole lot happening yet.

Thanks man. Thats the main procedure. Screenshot using quickmemo leave a 'LG Quickmemo' logo on right bottom corner. Thats why 'Volume Down' + 'Power' is the best

Thanks mannn. This is the actual procedure! Using quickmemo, leave a 'LG Quickmemo' logo on right bottom corner. So, 'Volume Down' + 'Power' = Rocks

Saw it in LA store today - looked awesome - but no stock and said cant sell until 19th.... One question - it only hade three pages and I could not find a setting to change to standard 5 pages for Andriod. With blinkfeed taking one page this is a concern.... Anyone that has one figure out if 5 pages are possible on the ATT version. I know from reviews they have shown 5?!?!?

Yeah 3 is default. Hit home while already on the homescreen and there should be an option to add one. IIRC

No you have to add pages from the settings. Same place you add widgets to the home screen.

You can also just pinch to zoom on the home screen and tap the + to add another screen.

Hi Guys, i am starting this thread to share some of the Official LG hidden options which have been overshadowed by a race of themes, patches, custom roms, etc to make your device better. I've found these hidden options after fiddling around with my device for hours and I was surprised to know it was there the whole time and I was unaware about it. I know many of us will be surprised but would also like to:good: Invite people to share if they know they have found a secret inside their device.
Changing Homescreen Icons:
This is the pictures of my Homescreen before the change:
Steps-1
Press & hold icon for 2 secs & then release. as you release you'll see a small paint brush picture on the top of the icon. When you see that quickly tap the Icon again.
Step 2:
Now you can choose icons from the presets or use our own picture from the phone by clicking on CREATE PHOTO ICON.
Step 3:
Now select the icon picture from your gallery and done! :good:
Wow!
OMG! I Surprised. But i don't think that its HIDDEN.
But Nice.
Ya may be not for you but i thought sharing would be nice.
woooow. that's a secret!

That seems like a setting you wouldn't want to mess with.
Just because a setting can be changed, doesn't mean it should be.
Having used AOSP for the past year, it's taking me some time to get used to the LG features, but it's interesting.

If anyone wants to get qslide out of the notification tray, I found a guide on androidcentral that worked.
To remove qslide from your notification tray...
First, pull down the notification tray, then in the quick setting at the top, scroll to the right and look for qslide. If you have it, toggle it and qslide will go away. If you don't have it in quick settings already, select edit and add it in. Then go back and toggle it, then return to settings and remove the qslide toggle. Qslide will be gone like it should be and we will have world peace!

You can turn off auto dimming without root, the option is under settings -> display
it's not auto brightness though. it's something completely different.

U talking about thermal throttling that when it gets a certain temp, it dims they display? This can be turned off in the service menu ....
Open dialer, and type 3845*#800# I always turn off thermal throttling that dims ur display when phone gets over 100 degrees. Do this by going to High temperature property off, and thermal deamon mitigation off, and enable them both...
That is the code for the at&t version. The 800 between the #'s is the model number, so Verizon guys would insert there model there...

Is there any way to remove the bottom launcher bar off the home screen? I can remove all apps but one. I want it completely gone if possible.
Only way to do that is to change launcher, and then have a swipe gesture to hide/show it.
Yeah, use GMD auto hide soft keys. Must be rooted. It's the best. I have mine set up with all gestures instead of buttons.

I wouldn't be too scared to root. I really know very little about rooting and all that and this was the second device I rooted. There are more than enough resources on Xda as well as YouTube just to make it that much more idiot proof. As long as you are smart with your mods and stuff you'll catch on really easily and learn as you go. I never flash roms or anything, just correct the little things (Like hiding the navigation bar, fixing volume issues) and really enhance my experience. And it is easy enough to go back to stock. If I could do it, just about anybody can do it.

Has anyone noticed that if you use the volume down button shortcut to access the camera app you can then use the home button to go directly to the home screen without unlocking? I am on a stock AT&T variant using the fingerprint scanner as the primary with pattern unlock as secondary. Seems like a pretty major security flaw... Does anyone have experience with other Android phones new that have a fingerprint scanner? Is this an Android issue, or an LG UX thing?

But I'm not seeing a home button when using the camera shortcut...all I see is the "back" button and when pressed, it takes me back to the lockscreen.
