I do know about the simple replace png tricks... I want to go to the next level... Who knows, I might come up with some new stuff...
P.S.: I have managed to successfully decompile and can view the XMLs. But I need to know which file controls what.
So Please Help Thanks.

[HELP]MMS theming help please!

I just can't figure out why my text don't align properly. I tried many times and can't get it to work. Someone please lend a hand to a desperate man....
I'm using apk manager to decompile etc...
This is what I do:
Extract MMs.apk>decompile>edit XMLs for font colors>compile "select Y for system apk>select Y again - delete resources XXX and edited files">sign apk. I get no errors. I use eclipse to sign the .9png as well.
I made the bubbles from editing the originals, and I think they look ok as far as I can tell. The text changed color as it should. I'm ready to trow my pc out the window!!!
BTW- What file do I need to edit so I can make the blue header with pic and phone number black?

Dock Icon in PNG shows blank

Hello,
I'm really really new in terms of customization but of course I'd like to learn and try.
I have Launcher Pro installed and I wanted to change the dock.
When I click on the App Drawer Icon and select the png file I want to replace it with, it's just totally blank
Here is the icon I want to put (the 2nd one): thecustomandroid (dot) com /2011/10/docks-by-desylvia/
In fact I'm trying to get this overall look but with no tutorial it's not easy and I don't want theme packages, I prefer personal customization with different widgets etc. And I like that dock but I just can't find it anywhere. I've read it's from Gomorrah.
Anyway, I just need help with the PNG icon, I'll do some additional research for the rest .

Oh and by the way this lock screen and the homescreen are from Desylvia.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Can someone do a "How To" change color in an APK?

I'd like to edit our digital clock APK like in this thread for the Skyrocket -- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1419584 -- so that we can use it on the Note. I'd like to have the clock blue instead of green. I used APKMultiTool and decompiled our digital clock apk and looked around to try to find where to edit the color of the date/time. I looked in the res folder and found several xml files I looked at with notepad c++ but not having much luck. I'm trying to learn but if someone could point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it.
Nunn has a pretty nice little video. If you are just starting out this is a good video to watch.

If you want it without the white outline just make the 'bg.png' transparent
Flash it via CWR
any chance........
any chance someone would make the date white, leaving the stock background stock and not transparent?

[Q][LPQ] How do I change the space between notifications?

Hi this is probably a stupid question. But i have searched and looked around in different thread in the forum. And i canĀ“t find a concrete answer that works for me.
I am new to this with modding and theming but i am learning as I go.
My question is how do i change the color or transperency of the space between notifications(see screenshot)?

I had to change back to stock background cause it was to ugly
I have tried to find the correct picture in the drawable-hdpi in SystemUI.apk without luck.
I have tried to look at the value and layout folder in SystemUI.apk and changed stuff without luck.
One thread told me that it could work to change the divider_height_xxx.9.png in framework-res.apk which i also tried.
But still no luck. Does anyone know which file to change?
It's possibly that i am changing the right file but doing something wrong.
Thanks in advance.

Never mind. I figured it out... Now running an ICS themed with (halfway functional) blocking mode (thanks adrynalyn) and WiFi toggle with location symbol removed, status bar and pull down. also thanks to icedventimocha for the theme i pulled the pngs out of.
