[Q] Quick question for the 4.2 quick settings - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there, not Adam here (sorry :') ),
I would have a little question for the people who would already have installed the 4.2 :
Could we choose what settings to show or not in the quick settings panel ? If so, what are the possibilities ?
Thanks

This is a great app addition but would be so much better if it were to replace our notification center

Found this:
According to Android Central, there are eight settings listed: Google+ profile, brightness, settings, Wi-Fi, mobile data, battery, airplane mode, and Bluetooth. The Google+ button takes you to your profile, settings opens up the full settings menu, Wi-Fi takes you to Wi-Fi settings, airplane mode is a toggle for the feature, Bluetooth takes you to Bluetooth settings, mobile data shows your carrier and signal strength, and brightness brings up the brightness slider, and battery shows a percentage remaining and will take you to the full battery menu if tapped.
Click to collapse
So it looks like you can't choose which settings will show.

Awesome App For Task Bar

Those of you who miss not being able to tap the the task bar in 2.2 (like you could in 1.6) can install an awesome app that lets you open most important quick settings from the task bar by sliding the task bar down. The app is free, its called Quick Setting (by Sergey Shafarenka). Just slide the top task bar and you will see the option for quick settings, then tap it and you will find: ringer, volume control, bluetooth, wi-fi, gps, mobile data. battery meter, and brightness.
If you prefer separate icons, you can try Status Bar Switch by friedflow for wi-fi and bluetooth - both free. I found them first but now that I learned about the Quick Setting App - I may just use it for everything.
Anyway, try it and let me know what you think.
i just tried it, and it looks really cool, specially together with his other app the battery widget which is cooler than the battery widget i had.
Only one thing missing, the option to be able to turn on airplane mode keeping wifi on
+1 for Quick Settings. Ive been using this app since my X10. One of the first apps I installed on my Streak, and couldn't live without it.
Up! +1
I've been using this excellent little app for 3 weeks already. It even give the shortcut for LED flashlight (given you configure it properly) so no need other 3rd party app for flashlight which may or may not work on our streak.
You can even customize what kind of settings you wanted to show, including GPS, mobile data, autosync data, wifi hotspot, airplane mode, auto rotation (yay!).
Edit: i show this to my friend and now his satisfy with it in his desirez
Great Find
Must have app!!!
Thx
Coupled with Visual Task Switcher (for mutli-tasking switch), my streak is finally user friendly

Thanks a lot!
Whats the differen between the 2g/3g icon and the up and down icon? If i disable 2g/3g the up and down shouldn work?
Up down icon is for turning the mobile internet on & off, 2g/3g button is for changing the connection type (2g or 3g)...
Thanks a lot. Is there a way to change the battery icon on the top, to a % of battery left?

See, why do not you simply go through the CM settings and explore/test things? Because all what you have asked here would take about a minute or two to find there.

How do you remove DSPManager? I think uses a lot of battery
What's that? Mine has a good battery life, what drains the battery, or at least used to drain, as I didn't use it for a long time was Google Maps, other than that, everything is just fine.

Um..where are the bluetooth settings?

Seriously, i feel like a complete idiot. Where in the hell are the bluetooth settings after the ICS update? Also, while we're at it the only way i can get into Wi-Fi settings is by dropping down the window shade, going to quick settings and then clicking on the wi-fi icon. Where the hell are the actual settings menus?

wow, totally not intuitive, only can access bluetooth settings once you turn it on. Same for wifi
In the Settings menu (via the icon in the app drawer or Menu softkey > Settings from the home screen) click on the text itself to the left side of the toggle switches.
Edit: yep, you can access WiFi's Advanced options while off, but not Bluetooth's settings. It is rather dumb.

[Request] Option to limit Quick Settings toggles

Quick Setting toggles in Paranoid are awesome, I really appreciate how they work.
However, I miss the option from CM to edit the toggles behaviour, intended as which options the toggle can show.
In my specific case, I would like to:
- remove the Device option from GPS toggle and use just Low/High precision
- remove LTE from Mobile Data Switcher, as I have no 4G traffic (I love Italy for this things... and sarcasm) so I can have 2G and 2G/3G (someone maybe prefer 3G only)
If anyone has any other preferences, write them below, I'd apreciate if others have my same thought.

Will try to understand JIRA in this case...
also, if we could get an update on that quick notification settings so we can decide if left or right edge of screen shall pull it down.. not just random.
thank you
@Pirateghost I can't register on JIRA; is that normal?

It stucks in an infinite loading; later I'll check if something change (I'm writing from the uni, as my computer is not working)
Re: Option to limit Quick Settings toggles
Whenever, I start my phone, all the toggles are there. The other best thing about this I had discovered is in order to remove them, one can simply turn off the toggles via notification switch or just via uninstalling the entire app.

I have no idea what this means. The QS tiles are not able to be uninstalled.

General How to optimize battery consumption on Realme GT2 PRO.

Hello everyone, I put a little tutorial to maximize the battery life of our Realme GT2 Pro.
As I describe, I have my drive configured. If you want, you can inform in the thread what results your phone now shows you with this configuration.
Greetings.
1.- DEACTIVATE AUTOMATIC UPDATES.
In this way we will avoid that the mobile is constantly looking for updates and therefore consuming battery.
1.1- We go to the Play Store and in Settings / Network Preferences / Update applications automatically, we mark not update applications automatically.
1.2- Once this is done, we go to Settings. We follow the path Settings / About Device, click on 3 of Realme UI, now click on the three dots at the top right, in the window that appears click Auto update and then mark the option "Do not allow", so we disable download automatically.
2.- DEACTIVATE THE WIFI ASSISTANT.
This option allows the mobile to automatically change the network, without us having to be aware of it, but it uses the battery unnecessarily. We are going to configure it to do it manually.
We follow the route Settings / Wifi / Wi-Fi Assistant, enter and deactivate the option "Auto connect to the best Wi-Fi".
3.-DEACTIVATE THE PRINTING SERVICES.
We have these services to connect to printers active all the time and the phone will be constantly looking for printers so that we can connect.
We go to Settings and at the top of the search bar we will write print. Click on the only option that comes out, "Default Print Service", once inside we deactivate it and avoid having it in a continuous search.
4.- DEACTIVATE EXPERIENCE IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM.
We follow the route Settings / About Device / Experience improvement programs and inside we deactivate the two options.
5.- ACTIVATE “OPTIMIZED STANDBY” OPTION.
We follow the path Settings / Battery / Advanced Settings / Optimized Standby, once inside we mark the Balanced Mode option. In this way we minimize energy consumption when the phone is not in use, but without causing delays in receiving messages.
6.- ACTIVATE SMART 5G.
We follow the path Settings / Mobile Network / Advanced Settings, once inside we mark the smart 5G option. We will get it to automatically switch between 5G and 4G reducing battery consumption.
However, in places where there is no good 5G network, it is convenient not to activate it and follow the path Settings / Mobile Network / SIM 1 or 2 / Preferred Network Type and press 4G/3G/2G.
7.- APP QUICK FREEZE
We follow the path Settings / Battery / Advanced Settings / App Quick Freeze.
There we select the apps that we want to restrict their activity in the background.
With this we will restrict the background activity of the selected applications, reducing their activity will also lead to lower battery consumption.
In addition to the above configuration, I also have the following:
Dark mode, manual brightness at 70-80%, Screen Refresh Rate I take it in "High", Screen resolution in FHD +, touch sounds, screen lock sounds, capture sounds, keyboard sounds, all off, vibration off.
In Developer Options:
"Logger buffer sizes", I have it set to 1Mb.
Window animation Scale / Transition animation Scale / Animator duration Scale. All three are by default at 1x, I lowered all three to 0.5x.
Good points ,thanks .
Might also want to include setting screen refresh rate to auto Select
Great guide but I have a question, do you have a smart 5g option? Just got mine today and I'm on the latest version and there is no such toggle.
Disabeling the gaming app also makes a difference for me.
Never used game app. Just disabled ...
If you disable the Google Feed, you also reduce consumption, it will not be active in the background.

That option is no longer there, with the last update it has disappeared
I think the last update also improved battery life
Laat update did indeed update the battery life. I went from 5 to 7 hours on screen time! Very pleased with this.
Glad to hear that. Hopefully more good fixes are coming.
How are you doing with the battery life?
Spoiler: Battery SOT
