[Q] Samsung vs AOSP Exchange SMS Support - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When connecting an exchange or office 365 account to an S3 using samsung stock ROMs or modified stock ROMs you have the option to tick SMS sync which allows you to see, compose and reply to your SMS's in outlook.
What part of the ROM is missing that means that stock AOSP and other manufacturers ROMs don't support this feature?

[Q] Is the mail app in ICS improved at all?

Anyone here that had the 2.3.6 Mail app an upgraded to ICS, can you tell us if there is any improvement in the activsync capable mail app?
anyone?
For instance, does the 4.0.3 exchange client support multi select yet?
Does it support Notes syncing from exchange 2010 servers?
Is there any Office365 additions?
ICS allows mulitple selections, syncs Mail, Kalendar and Contacts.
Notes and Tasks are NOT synched.
The E-Mails are now displayed properly and the Contact handling is really cool as it integrates tie information about the Contact from Exchange, Facebook, Google+, Yahoo,.... in one Tab.
ugh. So if I want Notes and Tasks I need to for out for a 3rd party email app?

[Solved] Gmail push and Microsoft Exchange in one mail app

hello,
can someone tell me please why the stock Samsung mail client doesn't support Gmail push but e.g. kaiten/k9 etc does?
I would like to have Microsoft Exchange (that works flawlessly on Samsung stock mail client) and Gmail push in one application. but for some reasons Microsoft Exchange doesn't work on kaiten und Co but Gmail push works and on Samsung mail client Microsoft Exchange does work but Gmail push does NOT
right now I use stock mail client for exchange and kaiten for Gmail push.
I would love to have exchange on kaiten or not preferred but as alternative Gmail push on Samsung mail client.
I do have a Samsung galaxy s3 international 9300
atm on Boeffla 2.9.0 with UltimaRom Kjata xxemb5
but it has nothing to do with the rom and Kernel and such . same behaviour on Samsung stock / emr2 / emb5
thanks for tips/hints
regards
well. I don't know since when. but Samsungs stock mail client now can push Gmail as well.
so. time and patience solved my issue

[Q] Want S4 Exchange on my AOSP Rom

So I couldn't last very long on the Galaxy S4 without flashing Carbon AOSP Rom but i really miss the Exchange features in the S4. Mostly the fact that it syncs the Tasks and how the Calendar looks and works. Plus a new feature, being able to make a Task or Calendar event from an Email.
Does anyone know if its possible to flash the Exchange (email, calendar, contacts and tasks) to a AOSP rom? If so how.
Thanks,

I've been using Enhanced Email very successfully! There is a beta available if you contact the developer.
So who should I contact, can you provide an email address. Thank you

KitKat 4.4.2 Email.apk 4.4.2-5 - smtp sending issue

Hi all,
Owners of various devices on KitKat (Moto G, various Nexus etc) who use email provided by UK ISP TalkTalk (POP3/IMAP) are reporting an issue with the KitKat stock email app which is failing to send messages to the TalkTalk smtp server. The account details authenticate with no problem, and email goes into the Sent folder and there is no delivery failure report/error message, but the message is never received by the recipient.
It seems a clear KitKat bug as tests with older devices/older versions of the stock Email app are working fine with identical account entries, whilst third party email clients (e.g K-9 mail) are also working fine with the same account settings on the KitKat devices.
So question to the wider world of XDA - is this a problem for users of other POP3 or IMAP email services?
