Hi guys,
Any1 pre-ordered this phone, have you had any notification yet that's its been shipped, as its been on sale in shops a few days now and I've heard nothing. Thought pre-orders got it first not the other way round.
Moved (Upgraded) from T-Mobile to EE, whose customer service is appauling now, even though nothings really changed I asked for delivery info 2 days later not a word.
I pre-ordered on 31st, got fed up waiting, being told different dates, I cancelled on 10th and bought from Phones4U, got it cheaper
Not got mine yet
Hi all
I ordered a White Nokia Lumia 920 on 29th October via the EE website. The next day, they added a notice onto the website that customers should allow 14 days for delivery.
I got a call from them on 7th November saying that there was a problem because I couldn't upgrade from a number that had been cancelled (even though they were ringing me on that number). I had been on T-Mobile two years ago and then moved to Orange which seemed to confuse all of their systems.
I got an email from EE on the same day saying that my order was on its way to me (very exciting I thought). The person on the phone told me that I would receive my device between 8th and 14th November.
When the device did not turn up by 14th November I rang Orange customer services who asked me what I had ordered and when! They appeared to have no record of my order!
I rang them back on 15th November and first they said that there was a problem with their systems and that I should contact UK Mail with my order number. I rang UK Mail and they couldn't help at all as I needed a reference number from EE, which Orange couldn't give me.
When I rang Orange back on 15th, the customer service operator said that somebody would ring me back in 24 hours and was actually rude to me!
I looked on my credit card statement to see if the money had actually been taken. The upgrade fee had been withdrawn on 7th November by "EE and T-Mobile" and the reference was the T-Mobile customers services number.
So, this morning (16th November) I rang T-Mobile customers services who told me that they had the order on their system but that Orange couldn't access it yet (!!) and that the device was due to arrive sometime before 21st November. I asked why it had taken longer than the time I was originally told but the person I spoke to couldn't give an answer.
I now have virtually no confidence that the phone will arrive before 21st November. If it doesn't I will be sorely tempted to cancel my order and go with Phones4U.
Thanks and God bless
andrew-in-woking
Got Mine from Phones4U sim free and popped a new full monty sim and getting over 10 mbs speed in areas where the signal is strong so to hell will EE and their 4G
According to EE's twitter feed the phones will start being delivered after today which translates into no idea when they will
l be posted.
If you ring EE or tmobiles after sales they with tell you another 21 days from your confirmation date.
I ordered mine on 1st November, received an email on 7th saying that it was on its way but also mentioning that it could take up to 14 days for delivery.
Out of the blue it arrived yesterday - no email ot txt etc to say it had been dispatched. Not great but I'm happy :victory:
Now getting used to WP8 - lovely hardware and screen is superb. Just need to find apps comparable to my Android ones.

I ordered on the 30th a White Nokia 920 on a 12 month plan and still no sign of it
Anyone confirm whether phones4u are selling unlocked 920. Popped into 2 different stores got 2 different answers.
Anyone bought one and tried it?

I have confirmed with several stores and heard from enough sources that the situation appears to be:
red/yellow: Locked to T-Mobile, Orange and EE also Phones4u exclusive
black: Locked to T-Mobile, Orange and EE
white: Locked to EE only
I know the white doesnt work on T-mobile etc which was confirmed on a different forum by a user testing it.

Awesome! can you go into the settings->about area and tell us what is listed under carrier?
Just want to double check its not a batch that was sent unlocked or something as everywhere else is saying t-mob wont work.

Think its contract only. Want to get one on PAYG or SIM FREE on 27th but I doubt they'll have them unlocked. I'm going early in the morning on wednesday, so I'll update on here if its availible on PAYG or Sim Free
EDIT: Here suggests it'll be availible PAYG for £499 on Wednesday
I emailed them and got a reply back saying there fones aren't unlocked?...
I know CPW's handsets are unlocked... I work for O2 and have heard there coming soon, not sure of deals as I work in customer services lol.

I really hope they have some sim-free in store on 27th, hopefully CPW wont have took my money out of bank if i can grab 1 from there early.
I asked about this and my local CPW and P4U both said they were unlocked, but that means they can take any network's sim card. It doesn't mean they don't come on a contract - that's referring to as "sim-free" and even that's a bit of a misnomer as it could have a PAYG sim.
I don't know if I'm being helpful or pedantic here. I mean the former, honest!
handtec if im saying that right, has them on the 27th for sale, unlocked no contract, hit them up

So, i rang the next nearest shop and they are having them deliverd tomorow for sale wed, so i asked about a sim free model and they said they should have some for sale but they are limited amount so looks like some of us might be lucky to get there hands on 1 on wed 27th,

NICE hopefully the same pal
As i had the same info from them earlier
They made an announcement on their eForum yesterday:
Vodafone said:
There have been a number of unanticipated issues during the software approval for Galaxy S 2.
The next phase of testing is scheduled for Friday 13th. We'll provide an update on Monday 16th with the latest information on timings.
If the device passes testing with Google on Friday, we'll be able to confirm despatch dates for preorders in our Monday update. If not, we'll give as much information as we can.

What the... Does this mean they're filling it with bloatware? I've heard from other sources that VF will be selling the GS2 unbranded, but then how could it have issues regarding software approval?
I've been due an upgrade for a month and have been holding off for this -- which is why I haven't bought the phone outright. I still haven't been able to confirm a deal for my new tariff because they can't confirm deals until the phone is showing 'in stock' for those in the call centre.
I heard the date of 16th being the release date for some time now, so hopefully on Monday I'll here "the phone is available!" and I get in before they're out of stock.
Anybody else in the same or a similar boat? Very, very frustrating!
Hey, I managed to pre-order the phone through an online early upgrade on the 4th May. When I ordered it said something along the lines of shipping "from the 16th May" so this could mean any time after that date really. I phoned the warehouse team on Tuesday (10th May) to try and get clarification if they still expected to start shipping on this date, and the guy I spoke to said that they anticipated stock to arrive within the next 2-3 days and that once it was in stock they would start shipping immediately. However after seeing the update on their forums yesterday I can only assume that what I was told was a complete lie.
It's really frustrating that a) Vodafone would load the phone with software (bloatware) Google obviously don't approve of and b) that they would delay the launch of the phone to do this!
why not get it through CPW or mobiles.co.uk?
sure to be unbranded then + probably cheaper anyway...
got mine on release week on VF upgrade via mobiles.co.uk
Because mine was an early upgrade (my contract isnt up 'til September) I had to go direct through Vodafone. Although by the looks of things, Vodafone might not be shipping my order until September anyway
I'd say you're probably better to wait a couple of months, especially if VF are ****ing about with the firmware...
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App, innit!
My O2 phone works fine on a Vodafone SIM, so if they're having problems in testing they must be screwing around with it. That means you'll get any official updates some time after everyone else.
Plus is there the remotest chance you'll get the phone for £149.99 on a £10.50 per month contract with Vodafone? Nope.
Go to phones 4u or carphone warehouse. They will give you an unbranded sgsII as an upgrade.
I got mine as a Vodafone upgrade from phones 4 u. on April 30th.
Mine was an early upgrade. My contract doesn’t finish until 12th of June. But i was able to upgrade from 12th of April. The 2 month is added to the end of my new contract. So i can upgrade again 12th of April 2013. But again my contract won't be up till 12th of June 2013

They won't be able to do as good a deal as Vodafone will (most likely) do. I'm hoping I'll be able to get a handset-only upgrade which would mean: £35 p/m 18m, 600mins, Unlimited texts, 500MB, Vodafone passport.
Looking at mobiles.co.uk I'd have to take 300 less minutes per month and pay £79.99 for the handset. That's pretty good but since I've been with VF for a good number of years I think I can do better.

Could you barter or did you have to stick to their standard deals? Carphone warehouse can do my tariff with that phone if I pay £159.99 for the handset -- no thank you :-/
I would check on Phones 4 U website but unfortunately they kind of con you into allowing them to use your information for marketing before showing you the goods it seems. Oh well.
Could it be the NFC devices which are supposed to hit late may early june?
Means they could still be unbranded?
An optimistic view, I doubt it though. I have little faith in Vodafone! I received a response (to an email I sent) from one of Guy Laurence's people. I responded by asking her if these VF handsets will be branded. My next question will be about NFC.

why are you waiting at all, I upgraded my vodaphone contract using Phones4you, got a great deal. 25/month, £60 for phone.
You can get voda's version will be full of crap and more expensive.
@stoolzio
Can you tell me how this worked? I tried three different P4U stores and they all said that they no longer do "handset upgrades". ie: They'd give me the phone, on my network, but only if I changed tariff. Since I want to keep my existing tariff I couldn't do a deal with P4U (or CPW, either).
Did you change your Voda tariff?

I got mine through phones4u in PCworld, maybe things are different. To be honest I think it depends on the branch and even perhaps who you talk to, a bit inconsistent, i'll tell you why.
I first ran Phones4u and they told me the same, no upgrades, however they told me they would be doing next week (two weeks ago now). They also told me they had no handset trade in policy, none at all, nada nothing, didnt exist.
So, the following week I walk into PC world, there and then I am offerred an upgrade of my current vodoacontract and given £90 for my old HD2 (with android on it no questions asked). I was so dumbfounded I just got my cash out and signed up.
Now the proud owner of one SG2 with same phone number, minutes and everything.
Seems like they now have the S2 in stock, going to give them a call later to see what they will offer me...

WHATTTTT??? WHERE DID YOU FIND THIS????
I called and spoke to some really nice woman and she checked on their internal "coming soon" list and said that, she can see the GSII will be coming but no date. (This is in spite of the fact the "consumer" websites says June)
So where did you see that you can get it from them direct?
(My contract is such, that I could only do a straight call-up and delivery (regular) upgrade.)
I first saw it as an option when i logged into t-mobile.
Called them literally 2 hours ago and they were offering some horrendous £35 plus contracts for the handset...

Sorry to be so immature BUT OMG!!! Things must have changed since literally a few days ago!
I'm going to try and log in now. (I'm on my dad's business contract so hopefully it will cover it )
And as for the price, it is indeed a very expensive phone.
I've phoned T-Mobile up twice and both times, I've been told they're stocking them, but their internal "coming soon" doesn't actually have a release date!
However the GSII, is on their website.
So if anyone orders from T-Mobile directly, could they please inform us, and when it actually gets delivered??

I did try, but the shop here couldn't process the order.
I phoned on Saturday, they said they'd got a shipment that very morning. Mine should arrive tomorrow; I'll be happy to answer any questions
Worth noting that if you order online or over the phone, you get a 7 day cooling off period, so if you don't like T-Mobile, or your contract, or the phone, or your cat's reaction to the phone or anything else, you can send it back and the contract goes away
Source:

From what I've read, this does not apply instore. When I first signed up with T-Mobile 18 months ago in a brick-and-mortar store, I asked about this.
Me: "Do you have a cool-off policy?"
Sales guy: "Yes, we have a policy, and that policy is that we have no cool-off period."

Its not specific to T-mobile. Its a statutory protection offered in the distance selling regulations and applies to all distance sales.
I had my T-Mobile SGS2 delivered this morning.
I phoned T-Mobile up on Friday evening and they said they have just got in a delivery of SGS2's so I upgraded to it.
It has got the T-Mobile logo on boot. Havn't tried any other sim cards but I am quite sure it will be locked.

I caved and picked one up at the weekend on contract in black and it's an awesome phone. Had a look at white, but actually think black looks classier with the matt finish and also feels nicer to hold than the gloss white. The white still looks very nice though in the flesh - I was very tempted!
Thanks for the heads up ....just ordered mine. Do you know if they come factory sealed? I have had bad experiences of buying SIM free handsets from Amazon in the past where the phones looked like customer returns

I've ordered phones from Clove in the past and they have arrived in new condition. I don't think you are going to have a bad experience with them.
Good to know. Thanks for the reassurance

I ordered mine yesterday.
We might be eligible to get a free wireless charger from Nokia, Clove are looking into that atm.
If Im not unlucky, I should have it in my hands thursday or friday, as the phones arrive today after FedEx has made their pickup and thus will be sent out tomorrow.
I figuratively cannot wait!

I ordered mine yesterday morning too, but had no confirmation of delivery yet. However, the money has left my bank.
What time did you order it? Just trying to figure out how likely I am to get mine and I can't find any way of checking the order online

I ordered mine around 8pm (Norwegian time) yesterday, got this email at 11.16am today:
"Many thanks for the information. Your order will now be progressed. When we send your order you will receive your tracking reference by email. We are expecting our machines today, however, probably not in time for Fedex, so your order will be shipped Wednesday for delivery within 1-2 working days."
A user on a norwegian discussionboard ordered as well around the time I ordered, and his just changed to SHIPPING about 15 minutes ago, delivery via DHL.
Im expecting it in-hand by thursday/friday.

Update from Clove.
"Hi all,
Just to confirm:
If you have managed to place an order, your Lumia 920 will be shipped from stock that we receive this week.
We shipped as many orders as possible on 13/11, but due to the late arrival of stock and the timings of our courier collections, we were unable to ship some orders. We do expect to ship remaining outstanding orders today.
At the moment we do not know when we will receive more stock, nor stock of the other colour variants, but will provide an update as soon as we have some more info."

Would it be possible for someone who's ordered from clove be able to confirm the device is factory unlocked please? I'm on an O2 contract, and very tempted to get myself a 920 factory unlocked/sim free, provided it will accept my o2 sim card, unlike the "sim free but locked to EE" devices that phones4u are selling. I know Clove are stating that their devices are factory unlocked, but it'd be nice if this could be confirmed.
Thanks
Ian
A guy on a norwegian smartphone forum got his today, its unlocked.
Also, I have an email from Clove confirming that they are in fact unlocked and will work with my operator here in Norway, which would mean its fully unlocked indeed.
did the norwegian guy get his phone from clove?
Thanks
Ian
Yeah of course, I thought that was implied .

I got mine yesterday too. I am on Giffgaff, which uses the o2 network, which works fine!
So I am ready to get a new phone to replace my 3+ year old Galaxy S4.
Replaceable batteries and expandable storage are must have features for me there aren't a lot of options out there.
Being rootable is also a must have feature and an unlocked/unlockable bootloader is a very strong preference.
I'm currently on Cricket (which is owned by AT&T and uses the AT&T network), the coverage and pricing are good but I may want to switch to T-Mobile in the next couple years. If I'm going to go T-Mobile that means I need a phone that supports T-Mobile Band 12 (I've used T-Mobile before without Band 12 and would not ever consider that again due to abysmal coverage).
I have searched both on XDA and on Google and I've found conflicting information about whether I could use the European H850 and have it work with T-Mobile Band 12, specifically I've seen several places where it's listed that the H850 supports LTE Band 12 but I don't trust T-Mobile to find some way to block their implementation of Band 12 for non TMO devices.
Does anyone here know for sure that I can use the European model LG G5 (H850) on T-Mobile and use T-Mobile Band 12?
Thanks in advance.
I have H850 on metro pcs, which uses T-Mobile network.
I forget which LTE band they use, but my LTE is faster than my WiFi...and yes it does have band 12 available as shown on the box my phone came in.
The H850 supports every band T-Mobile h830 supports plus like ten more.
I've had no dropped calls or any other problems in regards to my service.
Also T-Mobile doesn't care enough to block non T-Mobile customers from using every band they are paying for...
I use metro so I don't have access to the full T-Mobile network, just as cricket doesn't access full AT&T network...but my internet is beyond fast

What do you mean you don't have access to the full network? You're just prioritized lower than T-Mobile users, meaning you'll get throttled if the network is under heavy load, nothing else.
OK guys follow up question I'm ready to get an H850 where is the best place to buy one? Want an EU model that's bootloader unlockable and needs to come SIM unlocked obviously.

Definitely. There are others on here who pointed me in their direction. They are well established with tons of great reviews. I almost got scammed on with a bait and switch on eBay then somebody told me to go with Clove. They are legit. Use PayPal and enjoy your phone. My device from them had had no build quality issues and I've been nothing but pleased with my purchase
Clove have been around for a long time and are a respected retailer. Though they aren't the cheapest though.
I just bought one sim free from EE on the high street for £399 including taxes. I had to buy a payg sim for £10 though.
On my box it says B12 so no reason why it wont work.

Following up on this, I did end up buying from Clove, ordered on 6/16. it shipped on 6/20 but did not arrive until 7/9.
Bigger problem than the long shipping time was that there was very poor information on the status of my delivery. When they shipped (dispatched) they sent me a Royal Mail tracking number but whenever I checked it the only thing the Royal Mail web site said was that shipment was "on it's way" with no detail or progress let alone an estimated delivery day. What's worse was that about a week into the shipping time the Royal Mail site stopped providing any status at all, saying that they had no reference of my shipment. After a few days of this I was getting really worried that my phone was lost in the mail but eventually the tracking number started returning a result in the USPS system.
It took 2 weeks for the phone to get from the U.K. to the U.S. and another 5 days to get the last 25 miles to my house.

thats odd as clove are a good fast shipper. usually shipments into the USA are held up by lengthy customs clearance on the US end. most USA mobiles unfortunately are a waste of time as they are pre loaded with crazy carrier bloat and the network restrictions are absurd. steer clear of the h830 etc like the plague.
sorry you had to wait
