I even have removed every app i don't use and i swiched off other that i can't remove. I have a clear start screen from apps or widgets and even this way..., SOOOOO LAGINGGGGGG! Do i need to unlock bootloader? Is it necessary?

I agree. Custom ROMs are supercharged, have build prop tweaks and newer drivers which makes our device faster.
You could try a variety of ROMs that are available in the dev section a stick to whatever suits your requirements.

I guess as the camera is diff, the libs will cause issues. Will not suggest to take risk.
All the old root methods are not working, looks like all old exploits are closed in 2.3.4. Looking for an exploit to root. Lets see. If anyone already rooted Neo v, please share.
I totally agree that it is a risk and I would not do it because I understand very little about the subject android.
but it is only a guess.
The issue is very large libraries because I do not understand
Is there any way relocking the bootloader ? Or still no change ?

Lol all I got to do now is unlock the boatloader as mine I can't unlock from what is says on the Sony Ericsson dev site. Mine phone is on T-Mobile any one got any ideas
Sent from my MT11i using xda premium
if you are on t-mobile then your bootloader & fastboot will be locked by your carrier...
Dial *#*#7378423#*#* , then goto service info > configuration . At the bottom you should see this
Bootloader unlock allowed :YES or NO , IF YES UNLOCKING SUPPORTED IF NO UNLOCKING IS NOT SUPPORTED
If it says NO then you have to buy 5 credits to use a full SETOOL to unlock your bootloader & you fastboot(if it is locked too)
@vimjam : The link Unofficial Unlocking Method 2 does not work.
Can you please update the same ?
hi, im new neo v user! and i want to install a rom! do i need to unlock my BL to install any rom? or there is some roms tht can be installed without unlocking the BL? sorry for my question i know its outdated )
I've red samoire that you can install any rom that is based on the official one with no kernel changes via cwm. I've tryed it with my neo and dosen't work.
My Root sts is Boot Loader Unlock: No and as far as i know there is no way i can unlock the bootloader for free...So I am courious about the same thing but on neo (mt15i) .
So Clear ...
We have two kinds of roms;
1)Official
2)Custom
The first one is that one which you already have and doesn't need unlocked bootloader BUT the second one needs an unlocked bootloader.
Feel Free To Hit My THX...
There are also a few custom roms for locked boatloader,
Eg
Romkola, Codename and a couple of others, although they are likely to encourage you to unlock to really see what a neo can do

hi all, so if someone can list the roms that can be installed without unlocking the BL, it will be so kind from him and +1 thanks to him from all persons who need this list of rom? ok??

why did you downgrade ? You can still flash ICS and then custom kernel like this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1398910
it will install busybox and su, and voila you are rooted ics

I don't understand why people keep saying "just flash a custom kernel"... flashing a custom kernel is not like rooting. It involves unlocking the bootloader, and not everyone wants to do that.
You should say: "Maybe you already know this, but there's another way to root ICS. However, it involves unlocking the bootloader. If you feel like messing up with your phone, you could try."
i wonder, ICS is leaked, there is a root for ICS, or we can unlock bootloader. all the ways are open for ROMs. why there isn't any?

it's useless.
Yes, there are no stable ROMs right now
Who know why there are no ROMs, maybe developer motivation, Sony support, few developers...
The best way to help the developers it's test and test their ROMs, the support will improve the ROMs obviously
I cant test it because I need the phone and I cant wipe it each time or change the ROMs
Even some developers does not have the phone to test it directly
So dont expect much from a new ROM... just test...
thank you. i hope its just moral. unlocking bootloader is problem for us because there isnt any good rom / there isnt any good rom because people worry about unlocking bootloader for warranty. but for example there is so many good roms for neo v or ray etc.

i don't think relocking the bootloader can supoort warranty. because we give our imei numbers sony for unlocking bootloaders. they can see. but some of 2011 xperias can be unlocked from hardware like neo v.
The rom I'm waiting for is cm9 or aokp... Seriously when!?!?

Have you searched?
Has told you must root and install cwm.
Without being very rigorous you have, working in locked bootloader:
MIUI
DualCore
Xtream
The first one has a completely new interface. The other 2 are based on original Sony Rom and then tunned for less trash and better performance.
Hope it helps... but search first

Are you sure about this ?
KA SSpeed is based on a tweaked Kernel... and with Locked BL you simply can't flash Kernels.
For the 3 I stated I can confirm they work on locked BL, for KA I wait for some feedback.
I can tell you that KA-rom doesn't work with locked bootloader, isn't designed for stock kernel I guess. I almost bricked my phone but luckily I could run Sony Update Service to restore it. Miui is a good choice for us with locked bootloaders but I personally don't like miui that much.
I'm a bit afraid of trying any more roms until there is a way to unlock the bootloader for us that officially can't. Most good roms need a custom kernel anyways.
But I do wan't something more compact, and with the look of AOSP. Maybe I'll try Xtream or DualCore, if it works well with locked bootloaders that is...

I use KA on locked bootloader and so far no problems. You just need cwm to make it work, and we all know you can install cwm even with stock kernel
Flinux,
With locked bootloader you have to make big sh#t to brick phone.
Unless it specifies on Rom information you have to edit updater-script file to flash into locked boot.
You can try dualcore, has it probably is the most light Rom, personally I use MIUI because it is the most configurable Rom available for xsx and has updates every week. Maybe a bit more heavy in memory... but my phone runs a full day with all roms, so no questions there.
If you need a Rom confirmed in locked bl I can share my modded zip for last miui version.

I said "almost"... but it wasn't a "brick" per say, just a stupid boot loop, and I lost CWM so I couldn't go into recovery to reflash. But as I said, I solved it by reflashing original with SUS. I have used KA-roms before on my Xperia neo, but I didn't get it to work with my Xperia S.
Anyways, I think I will try dualcore, since I don't care much for the sony launcher anyways. It seems like a pretty light and batteryfriendly rom. (too bad dualcore has stopped developing this rom...)
Great... another dev leaving xps...
My Huawei x5 had more devs and more roms available... and no locked bootloaders or flashboot locked modes.
Xps is an amazing phone, but for modding and development.. it sucks
I can't find other explanation...
