Security on Bluetooth Tethering - HTC One X+

Is there any way how to force BT autentification through PIN for new devices? By default my HOX+ after turning BT Tethering on just makes device visible for 2 minutes and anyone can connect and pair freely with it. No PIN required to make pairing. Tried to look in BT settings, checked security settings and no option for enabling autentification. Is it possible to enable?

Auto switch between BT tether & wifi

Does anyone know of or use an app that will auto-enable a bluetooth tether when wifi isn't connected & vice-versa?
I'd like to have my Prime on line at all times but choose the best available connection.
I looked at having Tasker do this, but it isn't capable of activating a specific bluetooth connection - it can only toggle the bluetooth radio on or off.
Any ideas would be welcome.

bluetooth settings & autoconnect

Hi all- Long time lurker/searcher; but haven't found an answer to this one.
My android phone auto-connects to my car's bluetooth adapter upon starting the engine and it's great. However this works only when the bluetooth device setting has both "use for phone audio" AND "use for media audio". This particular bluetooth adapter has a rather crappy microphone, so I would like to use the settings as shown in this screenshot:

However, with this setting the auto-connect no longer happens. I have to open the android bluetooth settings and manually connect every time. I assume this is by design. I'd imagine this is a 1-line setting in a config file somewhere? Any suggestions for making the auto-connect happen regardless of the unchecked "use for phone audio"?
The android device is a Droid X running CM7 stable (indeed, very stable). Thanks

Bluetooth Tethering

Hello,
i´ve some questions about the bluetooth tethering on my Xperia P (and also outher NXT devices):
After the activation of bluetooth internet connection sharing i can disable bluetooth and reactivate it, the option is still active. After reboot of the phone the tethering option is disabled after bluetooth activation. Is this a bug or normal in that case?
Does the released Xperia Link App give me a choice of connection with WiFi or Bluetooth? Can´t test this at the moment as my tablet is still on the way to me
Thanks

[Q] Looking for Tether TO bluetooth Widget

I have a Bluetooth tether enabled Android phone and a Android Tablet.
Does anyone know what app (widget) can specifically connect the tablet to the Phone's bluetooth tether? one click?
without having to go into the settings.
Did you ever find anything? I installed BT Auto Connect. It can connect when Bluetooth is turned on. So you just need to toggle BT. But I am also looking for something for when I walk away with my phone, I don't want to have to turn off BT then turn it back on.
Bump, I'm also interested in this.

[Q] "Simple" bluetooth question: Disable Automatic Connection or workaround?

[Q] "Simple" bluetooth question: Disable Automatic Connection or workaround?
I am looking for some way to prevent every phone in the house from trying to connect to a bluetooth speaker or receiver when it's turned on.
the devices in question all run Android 4.4.4 stock unrooted Motorola roms. I have access to Tasker, Locale, Llama, etc etc and would not mind paying for additional plug-ins if that's what it takes.
Turning Bluetooth Off is not an option as we have other devices that sync over bluetooth and I would like to take advantage of Trusted Devices.
If there is no way to disable auto connect, then the next best thing would be a way to remove the device/unpair. I'm under the basic assumption that unpairing a device is something that could be done with a shell command in Tasker, but i've trollled the web high and low today and cannot find any kind of current commands for controlling bluetooth. I've tried a handful of bluetooth plugins for tasker, and while some of them give me the triggers I'd need to run such a command, they don't seem to have the ability to delete the device pairing.
I could even work with a command that cleared ALL bluetooth pairings if such a thing is possible
