I just spent a few minutes in best buy looking at tabs and I want one. Which ones do you all own and what is the best "bang for your buck?" I was impressed with both asus devices

I own the OG Xoom and love it. Best bang for your buck might be the Kindle Fire. Heard great reviews about it.

I have an iPad 2 and love it. (That isn't a joke, I honestly have one. You can see it in the reflection of my phone in the TWRP screenshots in that thread).
i've got the HTC Evo View (the sprint version of the flyer) and it's great. i love reading on it. and it was only $230
Transformer prime. Love it
a bad seed
There is no Rezound tablet, making this the wrong forum for the question.
Kindle fire? Thought that was an ereader

IPad or Asus transformer prime. Bang for the buck? Prime.
As for the fire, its a 7in tablet running Android but with its own unique UI I dislike. Rooted its pretty cool tho.
Rumor mill is that Asus may be making a 7in nexus tablet.
Should be cheap too.
I have two Asus TF101's and I'm going to order a new Asus TF300 on friday.
I have a kindle fire and love it!
The devs on that forum work their magic on the device. Just as the devs here work thier magic for our rezounds!
New iPad here. The iPad 2 is a great buy.

Unless something has change the KF has no hardware accelerate which means no YouTube HD video for one.

The HP Touch Pad isn't bad my man Leoisright has done a fantastic job on it. I don't think you can buy one and even if you could I would not recommend it at this point. If I was dead set on Android I would probably spend the extra cash and get the Asus Transformer Prime. Otherwise the iPad. BTW I haven't had to buy any apps for the iPad. Also the apps are much more mature then they were on Android.

I have the third gen iPad as well. It's great. The touchpad is also pretty nice. CM 9 with cornerstone is pretty hard to beat!
Dell Streak 7. It's an acquired taste. But I love it. Tegra 2 running Honeycomb.

i have no problem with u posting this in the general... but i myself want one but cant decide either
I got them around the same time, and I believe that I'll be returning the iPad to Best Buy tomorrow. The Note has pretty much made the iPad unecessary. I didn't think it would fill the void of a tablet, but it definitely has.
Anyone else put their tablets to rest after getting the Note?
I actually got my ipad as a gift of my girlfriend, and hardly use it the note wins hands down,I can do whatever I want, watch movies in mkv, flac support, add music without itunes etc.etc
Hardly use it

I think once i get an extended battery i will say the same. Right now the battery life on the Note just isn't close to a Tablet. If I get that Mugen 5400 I think I will quickly forget about the Tablet ;-)

I solved this with the Samsung charger/battery combo. It's great to be able to swap batteries.
To me, tablets are giant phones that don't make calls. So with the Note, I get near small tablet size while being able to still use it as a phone. I love it. I agree with the OP, I don't need a tablet with the Note.
Not exactly the same but for me I refused to get a tablet, I just don't like the form factor of having a large slate. I knew something smaller and more manageable would come out and the gnote is it.

Last month, I decided to buy a handgun instead of the new iPad. No regrets since I did have the iPad 2 and it was collecting dust.

I have a Xoom too and do not use it nearly as much as I used to. The Note pretty much does everything I need, probably won't sell the Xoom though.

Same here man! My iPad is work issue. Yet I find myself using it far less than the Note. The fun factor on the Note is infinitely higher.

I rarely use my tablet anymore.
Note > iPad
I sold my ipad last week to get some money back for other gadgets. I do miss it a bit like using it lounging on the couch. You can just see more of a web page as i dont use my laptop much anymore. I think i really just miss those 99 cent ios games that me and the little one used to comlete for high scores in like Rat on a skateboard and Rat On A Snow board that the play store does not have. But i agree having both is a bit redundant. Not that i game much on my phone anyway, i mainly due that on Xbox. But i must say i did find myself playing games more than normal while i had my iPad. Perhaps i was just bored lol. It's those dinky little games that seem to get you hooked! Especially the ones where you compete for high scores!

I never actually purchased a tablet for myself, since I always viewed them as nothing more than expensive 'toys'.
I only borrowed various ones from family and friends, ranging from ipad to transfer to galaxy tabs. Since I figured I would barely use a tablet that I purchased, I figured what's the point of getting 1 then.
But analysts recently have been saying that the avg tablet price may get 50% cheaper by the end of this year...so if that's really the case, then I may re-consider buying one then.
I use both of them daily, but at home I'm on my ipad2 99% of the time. Between the bigger screen and the battery life, not to mention the games its hard to compare the 2.

Hi guys , how y'all doing
I have a GALAXY Tab 10.1 , but I'm thinking of buying an ASUS Transformer Prime Tf201 , but I have concerns for the Wi-Fi issues is it solved ? Or not ? Please answer quickly
P.S : I can't buy the tf300 the TF201 is my only choice.
Thank you

Well, most of the wifi problem is because of the metal backplate. Compared to Padfone (which is plastic) it's about half strength on mine TFP.
It is solved on 300 or 700 with plastic backplate/antenna cover.

Oh okay , how do you get
wifi reception is the problem isn't sold yet?
Sent from my GT-P7510 using XDA Premium HD app
WiFi works, just less reception
WiFi works fine for me, I just find that I get lower reception compared to other devices. At home this isn't a problem as I get a good signal through the whole house.
Wifi issue is a manufacturing issue not a design issue. You might get one that works well but unless you are ready to return, return, return (within your in store return window of course. dont wait 6 months and hope to screw a store over) until you get one that is well built dont get a prime.
sorry but how about tf700?
The problem the only transformer available is the tf201 plus I can get it with the keyboard dock for a pretty good price .
If the pad 300 or the pad infinity are available I would bought them .
If there is a special way beside the tearing it I would be appreciative

I have to say I am very disappointed in the prime. And I have two powerful Asus laptops that I love but this is just a slow buggy tablet.
Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk 2
Can be good
I've been pleased with my Prime, and the dock takes it up to a whole different level compared to other tablets. Apparently there's been some variability in manufacturing, though. So if you can buy it and have the option to return, I'd suggest going for it. If it works, in my experience it works well. Not quite a laptop replacement, but very close, say 90%. And at least 300% of the battery life.
I wouldn't be buy, I have mine since January and it's camera doesn't work and another apps.... Try the Galaxy Note 10, is a quad-core with 2gb of RAM

I've had the eand I thought it was a wonderful tablet. I really didn't care for the GPS but wifibwas always weak and the ANR finally got to me. I've since swapped it for the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 and what a Difference! The note is what a tablet should be and finding it super useful with the pen too. Best of all wifi is good, GPS works, and never an ANR. Runs much much faster. To me its a no question option to go with the Samsung Note after having used both devices.

Tried the note 10.1 last day, placed the brightness bar to full, not that bad, but i guess eventually it gets disappointing....

Forget it. With all the issues owners have, getting a Prime at this point would be stupid. Personally, I wish I waited for the TF700. For now, please...just wait for the other models to become available.
I just got a used prime and love it. GPS need that dongle but other than that..which is no big deal for me I really like it.
I thought about the note since I like most samsung products but the fact that we got a tegra powered Nexus 7 made me want to own a tegra device.

$150 max. You will not have warranty left, the camera is likely to break, wifi is weak, gps is non-existant (can't charge with the dongle), cust support lacks,....

So when I just want to use the prime inside my or my friends house, don't need gps and definitely want to root and customize it the idea to get one cheap isn't that bad right?
Would like to switch from my netbook to a cheap tab and need the option of a good keyboard to attach.

The TF201 is not a tablet, its an electronic project kit. If that doesn't sound like fun don't buy one.
Like the specs for the price. Wife has the transformer infinity and I need something for ssh and Netflix...

Definitely looks like a great little tablet. I got my kids nabi 2 and this would be great for me and the wife. Instead of taking my laptop and risking theft or damage this would be great plus I still have my mini hdmi cable from my evo 3d that I no longer use.

I'm looking into getting a tablet. The new nexus 7 intrigues me but is the size all that different to the note 2? What tablets do you guys have? Do you find yourself using it over your giant phone?
Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk 4
My wife has the galaxy tab 2 7.0 and I play with that one. I don't like the size compared to my note ii. But I do plan on getting the new nexus 10 when it comes out.
About her galaxy tab. It feels too small. Like its not a tablet but a phone. As ridiculous as it sounds. She likes it because she can easily store it in her purse whenever we go anywhere. That's always a plus, but she does also only have a 4.3" phone so its a big difference in screen size to her.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk 4
I'll second the notion posted above, that the 7" tablet is kind of pointless when you have the Note 2. For what it's worth, since moving to the Note 2 I no longer use either my Nexus 7 nor my full-size iPad. I seldom need anything but my Note 2 and my laptop, which spends most of its days docked in my home office.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk 4
Now that I have the Note2 I rarely use my touchpad running android. If/when it dies I will probably replace it with a Nexus 10. The weight difference between the 2 tablets will probably cause me to use a tablet more often.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk 2
I have a first gen nexus 7, and recently I bought a note 8. The note 8 is what I reach for the most. The nexus was too small and rarely used liked the other posters point out. But the Note 8 is the perfect balance of size for me. Note 8 development is not the best, but I like TW so im running stock rooted on it. The fact that it has a sd slot helps a lot too. The price is higher though. Something else to note (ha), I do use the spen a lot. If the spen is not a selling point for you on a tablet, it may not be worth the extra cost. Good luck tablet shopping!

I have had the Note 10.1 for about a month now and find that it goes well with my Note 2. I was on the fence about just rooting and flashing my Kindle Fire HD and using it, but I also thought what's the point of using a 7 inch along side the phone. I have been happy with it so far and running TW on both helps.
