Is it possible to disable the phone from vibrating when unlocking the phone? I am running Eclipse Razr ICS v1.5 on a DROID Razr Maxx. I have read that typically the setting is in the security section of the settings menu but I can not find it.

Try this : setting > security > vibrate on touch ( uncheck)
setting > sound > system > vibrate oon touch ( uncheck)
I have tried the "vibrate on touch" setting in the sound section of the menu(under system) but that does not seem to affect the lockscreen.
This might have no relevance but u can give it a try... In android keyboard settings uncheck vibrate on key press...

"This might have no relevance but u can give it a try... In android keyboard settings uncheck vibrate on key press..." That didn't work either...maybe it's not possible.
In OTA3 I do not think that option every time I lock the screen it vibrates. Have any solution to change the build.pro

Im on eclipse 1.5 with pin unlock , no issues for me. Can you try without any lock settings and see?
Settings > Security > Screen Lock > select "None"
I too hate the vibrate. I have all options for vibrate OFF and when I swipe to unlock the vibrate still vibrates. No settings, not even global will kill the lock screen vibrate. Someone will come out with a build.prop mod to eliminate it.
I managed to solve Galera installing apk Holo Locker, without the need to use the launcher. I use the launcher Atrix HD with circles and stopped vibrating with this app.

Hi, and first of all thank you xdadevelopers for your work! awesome I can have my xperia updated to 2.1 rooted here in Spain!
Now my question is if is possible to disable vibration on the dialpad, 'cause I can't find the option.
I know it's a little silly question but it's bothering me, thank you.
I think you can find the option in settings, sound and display?
but not sure.
thanks but there only can remove sound not vibration
when using the keyboard use the settings button looks like a repair tool there you can disable if is not there go to settings, check keyboard and uncheck it from the default keyboard option, same applies for android one

this works for the keyboard but no effect on dialpad, and when on dialpad settings buttons does nothing.
thank you anyway
Try going into settings "Sound and Display, and untick "Haptic Feedback". It says that it "vibrates when pressing soft keys and on certain UI interactions". Maybe that's the one you're looking for.
i have the same question, i can't remove the vibration on the dial pad.
send from x10a flash with x10i nordic 2.1
I have looked all over forums and internet and I have found no one who is able to disable the vibration from my HTC EVO 46. I cannot stand the dial pad lay out and it showing the call history right above it and can't seem to find a replacement for that either that will be my default phone dialer, not something I have to additionally go to.

how can i fix that? when i lock and then unlock it does it directly no lock screen comes. no lsinding tab or soming.
Yes !!!! TouchPad android ROM still not 100% working normally, please wait for future update !
You have to enable it in settings, cyanogen mod settings, tablet tweaks. Deselect the disable lock screen option.

And then wail because the lock screen is active but there's no pin or pattern unlock area present. In which case see my response on the same topic in the cyanogen mod forum for a fix

I actually like not having a lockscreen. Its unnecessary in my opinion

I'm having the same problem. The fix offered above didn't do anything. Any help is appreciated.
Settings > Cyanogenmod Settings > Tablet Tweaks > Uncheck "Disable Lockscreen"
Did not work for you?
No, the screen lock now works when I boot it up, but after that I when I use the power button to shut it off and on the lock screen doesn't start up. I've even tried downloading a whole bunch of other ones.

FINALLY! Remove Vlingo / Voice Command without root (ICS Only)
That's right. And it's so stupidly easy you'll be kicking yourself. I still am.
> Firstly, you'll need to install Go Launcher. Search on the Play Store for it.
> Then, when you've installed it, go into the app drawer and press and hold the 'Voice Command' icon (the blue one).
> It will shake with a red cross next to it, click to uninstall and follow the prompts.
> That's it. Gone. You can uninstall Go Launcher at this point if you want.
There doesn't seem to be a way to install it again, unless a factory reset brings it back (but that's no loss, i've been close to chucking my phone out of the window because of that thing keep popping up)
Also, this does only seems to work with ICS. My wife has a newer GT-I9100G S2 which is still on gingerbread (O2 UK) and this trick doesn't work.
You can also disable any system app (with or without root) on ICS.
Settings --> Apps --> All --> Find System App --> Force Stop and / or Disable.
If you need it later, enable it. Job done.
You can also just switch motion in system menu off.

Indeed I am kicking myself ha ha ha
Brilliant and thank you . . . .Vlindingodoobedaa has gone for good.
Hello I was wondering if someone could help me get a fix for the
[ROM][GB] Hybrid (Stock/CM7), Multilingual, DE blur notification toggle for the lock screen on my Motorola Photon 4g. I have the full ICS theme pack for it and the screen lock toggle will turn off the lock screen but when I go to turn it back on and hit the screen off button on the top of my phone and hit it again to turn the screen on there is no lock screen that comes up. I have to do a restart and it comes back on again. Thank you

I suggest to install a 3rd party lock app like "GO Locker." I had the same issues from time to time but GO Locker fixed that but I leave the Android Passcode on for Go Locker does not work immediately after booting but the built in Android passcode locker does. Give it a try! Many themes to choose from that are free!
Hi,
With stock rom (stable or open beta), when Poco F1 are locked and press Power Button, there are an option to shutdown phone.
This is a security problem!
If the phone is stolen, the thief can easily turn off the phone and prevent us from locating it, deleting its contents, ringing...
It happened to my stepfather, who only regained its Pocophone thanks to video surveillance of the space where it was stolen because the phone was immediately shut down and we cannot get your location.
Is there any way to disable the power off option when the phone is locked?
Preferably without Root access.

There is no way to totally disable the power button.
Even if you were able to make the shut down option to disappear, pressing the power button for 10-15 seconds will make the phone reboot.
Yes, press for 15 seconds reboot, but don't shutdown! After reboot, I can localized the phone again!
I only want remove the "Shutdown" option on power menu.
interested cuz it happened to me yesterday, i guess its a security thing. cuz someone turned off my phone and luckily i was wearing my Bluetooth ear piece and i noticed it got disconnected so i barely found it.
i think there should be a way to like put a password or fingerprint when u wanna reboot or shutdown the phone!!
Yes it's possible go to Settings --> Lockscreen & password-->advanced settings---> Power menu acess

I don't have this option either on MIUI Beta or Global Stable...
It's possible (somewhere) activate that menu option?
Go to settings->notifications & status bar.
In that under notification shade turn off show on lock screen.
By doing so, quick toggles and power menu doesn't show in lock screen...

There's no option like that in 10.3.7
I have that option on custom miui by xiaomi.eu
Its very useful but still i would prefer if the power button was completely locked by password so the phone cannot be rebooted to recovery by the thief.
