[Q] Any AOKP ROM with samsung motion features? - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi. I was searching through the threads and roms but I didn't find what I was looking for. So my question is there any AOKP rom in which the samsung motion features are implemented? I mean the features like double tap on the top of the phone and it jumps to the top of a list or palm touch to mute/pause etc.

I haven't found any ROM that isn't based on official ones that have those features as well, probably it isn't that easy to extract those features and port them... The thing I miss the most from official ROMs is the screen detecting whether you're looking at it or not...

Install Nova or apex launcher over Touch Wizard. And here it is. LoL

Wrong section....
Sounds like a good idea, but there would have to be some serious overhaul to the OS.
Then again, I think GridOS uses a lot of gestures for its features and it is basically a OS skin, sort of like Sense and Touchwiz. MeeGo on the N9(i think) is also gesture oriented. Maybe once the ARM version is released it can be ported over.
Dude start posting in the correct forums.......

[Q] Stock ICS instead of TouchWiz

I seriously dislike the TouchWiz UI. It's very boring and dull, I love the way stock Android looks with its dark and light blue theme, very minimalistic and intuitive and I hate the way TouchWiz is just black grey and a mixture of other colors. I'm using NovaLuancher but it only changes the home screen, I'm looking for stock android settings menu and notification/status bar. Is there a solution to this yet? Putting stock ICS on the Galaxy S3? Or are there any launchers or skins that make the settings menu and notifications look like stock ICS?
No one? I'd also like to know.

Check themes and apps section.. If you can't find any themes, then no.. Just hang on... There will be 100 theme releases soon where all is "aosp" and every rom is AOSP themed. Cm9 and aokp will sure also find its way some day

Forgive my ignorance but I've been a iOS user since the first iPhone and I just switched to ICS because I was sick of the iPhone. What is AOSP? I know what CM9 is, what would you recommend me to install on my phone?
AOSP stands for "Android Open Soruce Poject" it is basally the barebone android OS made by Google for all to see. Many roms are based off of it, as the code is release soon after googles flagship nexus devices.
I like aosp too but dont yiu guys think it makes the phone look cheap? I find touchwiz icons classy..
I would suggest waiting a month or so after your carrier gets it to put a custom ROM on it. By then a lot of bugs well have been worked out and there will be some great tutorials available.

no, because you can customize it to your liking. there are thousands of options.
to the op download a launcher and it might imprve your experience.
I doubt CM9 or other stock ICS ROMs will have features like smart stay or s voice...if they do include them, that would be awesome!

CM9 for SGS3 would be custom to suit the S3.. So I'm sure it would include all the features unique only to the S3....
I think the TouchWiz 5 UI is quite nice, MUCH better than the 4.0 on my SGSII, however, I use Nova launcher because S launcher is driving me crazy
Nevertheless, AOSP is still much better, and as the SGSIII is a hugely successful and famous device, so it won't take long for the first AOSP roms to spread from the ground Just have a look at the SGSII
cheers

[Request] Working Floating Multi-Window

Is there a flashable zip for floating multi-windows on VZW GN2? I searched and found a couple of threads but they seemed somewhat complicated and quite buggy. I had this feature on my GS3 with Synergyrom and loved it, I'm sure it would be even nicer on the bigger screen. Sorry if there is a simple answer that I overlooked.
Here is a simple way of getting floating multi Window. I know of no other mods at this time.

Is it because it's built into the rom that it works so well on Synergy for the GS3? If so is it something that can be done for GN2? I ask because I don't fully understand what can just be flashed and what has to be built in to the framework of the rom to make it work properly.

Ihave the same problem, but I deal with the three shortcuts instead of five. Then I use an spp to control jist the lockscreen rotation. Im my opinion, the benefits far outweigh losing two shortcuts.
You can also change the dpi if you want all of your shortcuts as lpng as you can deal with smaller icons.

This seems to have no effect on my VZW Note 2. Running Jelly "Beans" with Nova Launcher and Widget Locker.
Are you hitting the save button in the right corner of xposed after you change your settings ?

Yeah same here on beans 13 didn't change multi Window at all. Tw launcher. Beans stock kernel.
Tried both resolutions. Tried different dpi.
It would be really cool to have this. I am not smart enough. Lol. But i know there are tons of smart people in these forums.

Getting JB Style, Keeping TW Features - Hyperdrive & Nova

I'm assuming I'm not alone here, as I have seen many people across the forums saying that they have either already gone to, or are thinking of flashing an AOSP ROM, and are worried about losing all of those Samsung Goodies (Like hover, air gestures, eye control, TW Camera, etc.) They generally also seem to want the customizability of a custom rom, as well. So, let's discuss how people have gone about getting that JB feel on a TW ROM.
The way I currently have this set up is with the Hyperdrive 5.7 ROM as a base. With just that, you get a smoother, faster, and enormously feature-packed TW ROM. The customization you can accomplish with this ROM is very impressive, especially considering it is TouchWiz. On top of this, I'm running - yep, you guessed it - Nova Launcher.
Nova Launcher is, in my opinion, the obvious choice for getting stock JB feel on any device. Nova allows the important customizations made to Hyperdrive to continue working, while adding the JB feel right on top. I've also run the script from within Hyperdrive to enable the Nexus 4 Softkeys, and I've shut off the lights on the capacitive keys on the device itself. This makes them completely invisible, so the device looks much more like a Nexus device, if you like that sort of thing.
What do you guys think? What other options are out there? I'm looking to give some insight to users who may want to get this type of feel on their S4, while also getting some feedback or better/different ways of achieving this. Good luck, and happy theming!
looks good just get rid of the nav bar

What does the dialer look like? Still the ugly white?
What about incoming call screen?
Just changing the launcher doesn't make it AOSP themed.

Why don't you just go check out the ROM thread yourself before completely discounting it? No, it does not have the white dialer. It's very well themed and runs great.

You and I have our wires crossed. I was responding to the OP, which references a combo of hyperdrive rom and nova launcher.
I wasn't referring to the Eclipse ROM, which I see has AOSP dialer instead of TW dialer.

Yeah. So the dialer and incoming calls are both part of the TW base. Nova launcher is just that; a home/launcher replacement. Just as you said. Though I am sure there are theming options for these things through third party methods, since many people dislike TW appearances.
I am just trying to get more of an AOSP look/feel, doesn't need to be completely coated in JB.

Eclipse is a themed TouchWiz ROM with a couple AOSP parts. It is not built on AOSP base. I believe it has the air features and TW camera, as well as many others.

I fully understood the point of the thread which is why I suggested Eclipse ROM. It's Touchwiz based and includes all the Touchwiz gimmicks as well as the TW camera. It's most certainly NOT an AOSP ROM as you seem to think it is. It's just a very well themed Touchwiz ROM.

You know, its really easy to post a reply without being passive-aggressive about it. I made a mistake and was unaware that Eclipse was Touchwiz, I was misinformed. Now that I have been home and had a chance to look at it, it looks like a really great option! Thanks for posting it here.

The main portion of it is DashClock. I like the accuweather service more than Yahoo though, so I used overlapping widgets in Nova Launcher. The weather widget on top of Dashclock is a 1x1 weather from Beautiful Widgets.

I am no longer running this ROM, but it is an included script with Hyperdrive. If you go to sbreen's included script installer, it was somewhere in a media folder and you just run it from there. He posted the instructions on the first page of the Hyperdrive thread somewhere.

Help finding suitable Rom

I'm looking for a Rom that has a stock android look and feel, like the stock status bar and stock look for settings, while still maintaining a great camera and gallery app, preferably the touchwiz ones. The air gestures are nice to but not absolutely necessary. A stock android like lock screen is also a must.
Any help is appreciated

When you say Stock Android look and feel do you mean AOSP?
Hyperdrive has a lot of options for pretty much every apsect of the rom
Eclipse S4 TW Edition is basically a TW rom with the look and feel of AOSP. Those are the two best in my opinion. If you're really trying to get down to nearly pure AOSP programs and stuff you can check out Andybone's Barebones Rom too. It just depends on how AOSP like you wanna go.

My ROM doesn't have anything AOSP
An AOSP theme is coming thanks to nito for giving me the permission to use his work.
Tried your Rom, was great but I didn't like how the Rom settings say there is an aosp lock screen but nothing happens when I toggle it. Also you need to add a default music player, be it Samsung's or play music. Also hated how it doesn't restore all apps, had to manually do that.

Lol. Wasn't necessarily talking about theming but more about the removal of more things that some people consider bloatware (all the extra Samsung cool guy features) but after relooking I think I was thinking of someone else's ROM. Yours is one of the first ME7 based roms. My bad Andy.

If you are talking about my ROM..
Google auto restores your apps,...
Not ROM related.
also there is NOTHING wrong with the AOSP lock screen,
and Samsung Music is found in Aroma, choose hub..
I suggest doing a FULL CLEAN install, and NOT installing anything outside my thread.
I can only assume you flashed an android.policy.jar and that broke the AOSP lock screen. User Error.
Also I don't include ANY app you can download from the play store.. why would I?
waste of space.
Everything you hate about my ROM can all be solved by fixing your user errors, and a little research.
