Same thing just started happening with my Craigsnotifica app, none of the search results have any of the original text, but photos are still there. It's bummer too, because it appears that all development has stopped on this app. I tried some of the other CL search apps and nothing compares to this. It's the most efficient CL search app out there! if anyone finds out anything more about fixes or updates, please postany info you have.
Mine is doing the same thing starting yest. I think development stopped on this app when CL put the smack down on their API, and I suspect the text not pulling is CL tweaking the API. Sucks cause I had a whole job hunting system down pat, but at least it still pulls headlines, and then its just one more button to hit to load the original post webpage. Who knows how long that'll last.
Sucks that CL decides to kill all the good CL apps, without putting out one of their own, or that at least can do the things that we seem to love about this one. You would think its good for business.

Craigsnotifica still does notifications. Then I switch to the app I posted earlier.
I'm glad someone posted this up... it began happening to me a couple of days ago while I was out and about. I was so puzzled I uninstalled and re-installed and set up and everything. I had a bad feeling something had changed behind the scenes at CL and that the app was no longer 100% compatible. It figures, and it was only a matter of time as all development had stopped for this app. This makes me really sad. At least for now I can still hit the web link to get to the page for each ad I want to see, but I'm not very hopeful as I've tried a number of different apps in the past and none have been as nice and as effective as this one.
Has anyone ever tried to contact the dev and see what's going on? His last Twitter update was back in July, and then just *poof*.
There is another app that does notifications. It's called c*Pro craigslist Client Droid. The free version lets you save one notification, and the pro ($1.99) lets you save multiple. I just purchased so I'm not entirely sure how good it it is... YMMV.

cPro is pretty good. Try the free version.
CPro is okay. I don't like that you have click on the arrow buttons to see results in other areas. I'm not sure how you do an OR or AND search as well.

i have just bought this for $15.. and i cant get it to work.. i can get the original shell BETA to work, but once i put the 3d v1.0 on my phone i cant get it to work, it force closes everytime i hit home button...im thinking it is my ROM

not to worried about it, i got donated $15 today, and i seen that it came out.. so i said what the hell, i didnt lose anything

yeah brother ...btw i tried it on a garminefone my friend has and it just didnt work..it just did as mine..nothing just black screen for about 3 seconds and back to the original launcher...no works
its is amazing ..works fantastic on my nexus s. blew up adw ex or lp ..seriously..widgets are super cool

ok i found something on the internet, saying to turn airplane mode on, then try using it again, then once configured and running turn airplane mode back off...
work for me, but it had alot of bad comments saying it didnt work

FWIW, he contacted me without even me replying and is helping to take a look at my logs. While you can argue about the pricing and Android Market's refund policies, SPB has been doing shells etc for a while, and I trust the intentions.

First of all, I'm not one of the developers, and I'm not here to convince or argue with anyone regarding whether or not this App is worth $15. You all can figure that one out on your own...
• nonpafos contacted my via PM and offered to help; he's legit, and they use a tool hosted through their website to help log
• I can say this with 99% confidence: If you are getting the black screen and then quitting, you didn't get this through the Android Market. I know this, because I did the same thing. Whether through A*net, a friend, whatever, the APK you have is not the original. It has been modified, which leads me to:
• The *original* App checks for the Android Market purchase. It does it every time it boots, which is why buying this, backing it up, refunding it, and restoring it won't work. You can try it, but it won't work. I know this, because I did the same thing
• The App works if you purchase it legitimately. SPB support is also legitimate support, and replies quickly (at least during regular hours, AFAIK). They offered to refund me within 24 hours if I purchased the App through the Market. This was a necessary point in convincing me to try the App
• I support developers, and DO NOT support pirating. However, I will readily admit to using "alternate sources" for the purposes of testing an App before buying. You will very likely find that 15 minutes is not enough time to evaluate this App, but recognize that that is Google's limitation, not SPB's. My recommendation is to contact SPB and get an offer from them to refund within 24 hours. SPB/nonpafos: An awesome sign of good faith would be to publicly post that you will offer 24-hour test periods, but you may not want to

This has been bugging me a little and I want to see if anyone else is experiencing the same issue. When I buy an app (Apparatus, most recently) it gives me no option to refund. It did the same thing when I purchased Splashtop HD. So, anyone else having a problem with no refund button showing?

Its not just you. I had the same issue when buying ADW EX. I use Launcher Pro on my DX but didnt like it on my tablet so decided to take 5 minutes to play with ADW. I bought it, played for a couple of minutes and resigned myself to accepting the stock launcher.....but...like you found no refund button.
I honestly think you just cant return some apps.. I read the return policy and think it refers to "applications that are eligible for returns" perhaps not all are.

Did you use "Charge my Sprint Account" or something similar while buying it? I found that when I bought and charged my carrier, I was unable to refund, I think because they do not have the ability to "Credit" an account.

I know this is late, but this happen to me also and Google & Dev try to make it seem like I was missing the 15 minute window, in which I was not, and since they try to make it seem like I was the problem, I insist they give me back my money, was going to let go($6.00) but they attitude force me to want the little money BACK.
Some do not offer the refund option, especially of they have a lite or free version to try first. If you read their description, you will see their policy.

I bought this app a couple of days ago and it hasn't worked once for me. The first day, whenever I tried to browse or search for a forum, it would say "retrieving from server" and just get stuck there. I thought they were just having server issues but I'm getting the same thing today.
Tried emailing the developer but haven't received a response back. Is anyone else having this problem?

right now though I'm getting a new issue. Whenever looking at a thread with a long 1st post (like anything pertaining to a ROM release, or explaining how to install a theme or something.) anywhere from 3-10 posts immediately following that are blank. when I tap on one of these blank posts the app FC's. viewing from a web browser shows the posts properly, but on tapatalk, as of a couple days ago it's blank...
annoying to say the least.

are you in a bad sprint area? mine will do that when im on sprints 28k speed 3g network.
I've used Tapatalk Pro for well over a year and haven't had any issues on a Moment, Epic 4G, Evo 4G and Evo 3D.

Yep, my Tapa does this sammmme thing too. It'll have TONS of blank posts after the OP post and anytime I touch the blank ones, I get an FC. I also have the issues with the server sometimes too. I just refresh it until it loads and that makes it work. Annoying at best, but sometimes it works just fine.
Update is better, but with BBC code enabled, links don't work. Only issue and now we can like or thank post.
Edit: actually, all is now working.

I'm getting those same issues too. Also, it seems like I get a lot of double posts from people back to back as well. Did the clear data trick and it seems to help for a couple of days.
And LOL at the 28k Sprint 3G network comment. I can't get over a 100k just about anywhere in town, much less any 4G coverage. I swear I think they're throttling it just to get everybody used to using wifi.
I paid for Tapatalk, and have used it a lot in the past. However, it sucks now, and I consider it completely unusable. I am getting all these crazy issues lately as well, yet it worked fine last month.
Another thing i have never understood:
I, for one, have no idea what it means to 'enable BBC code', or what the '3G compatibility mode' actually does.. Apparently Tapatalk doesn't want me to know either, because there's no documentation ANYWHERE in the app, or on their website that explains it. Is it some big effing secret? I'm done with it, using regular XDA app instead.

Actually, you're right, it's worthless because I thought it meant things like smilies would show up, but I see nothing but :smileycode: on most of them, and forget any of the animated ones on other forums.

I've been struggeling with the s2 ever since I got it, almost all apps FC, Bluetooth randomly turns off as does my phone, GPS never knows where I am, I get adds in my notification bar, my Widgets don't work, time is almost always wrong and my speed test never gets above 1mb down. These problems occur out of the box on 2 different phones and with S8.
I see people enjoying their android phones but I'm confused how. Do I need to be a pro hacker to even make this device work the way it should? What can I do to fix this? I'm so frustrated I'm ready to not have a phone just so I can destroy this on with my hands. I paid 199 for this phone, don't even feel it's with $10, maybe it is but android sure isn't.
same problems on 2 different phones? I'm betting its user error... maybe you can install s8 but not restore any old data... start fresh... have you tried that? are you using titanium backup?

Maybe you should try not installing malware from the Market?
I've never had any of the problems you claim, but ad spam in the notification bar sounds like a classic example of malware to me.

go get an iphone or winmo if android isn't worth your time.
If you have Ads in your notification bar, you have something installed that's causing this. This is not the fault of android or your phone. You installed something which causes ads to appear and might even be causing all your other issues. Wipe it out, DONT install anything and test it out. Make sure it works the way it should without touching it.
Dont blame the phone or the Android OS for something that you did. As for the slow download speeds, after you wipe it out, run the speakeasy speedtest through your browser not the speedtest app. That app is not 100% accurate. If the speed is still slow, call AT&T because it might be an issue with the network in your area.

Out of the box means nothing installed (new). Adds didn't start till I downloaded a couple apps. Sad the app store allows maleware
So since the phones don't work out of the box for me who should I blame? Bluetooth obivously shuts off randomly because I clicked the button wrong when turning it on right?

ROFL!! Although I agree with you, the post you are referring to was unnecessary.
I actually just switched from iOS to android myself, and considering I used to develop on iOS it was a pretty intense switch... I struggled mainly with the battery life of my phone. Notifications also caused a bit of a headache due to just how different they are.
Moral of the story, I stuck with it and actually like android more now. Given it's not as idiot proof as iOS was, but the things you can do in android (in terms of being able to do anything you want with your data and not having itunes) make it worth it.
Try flashing and rooting your phone, then remove all the apps you don't use. That fixed most of my battery problems for me, and the unnamed rom fixed the rest.

DK - Standard troubleshooting steps... Use the phone STOCK without ROOT and without any new apps for a few hours (at the very least)...
IF the phone still gives you these errors STOCK you can complain to AT&T about your issues because it is clearly the phone (HARDWARE) as ROOT cause of these issue.
HOWEVER...
If you're experiencing these issues either:
After restoring from previous backup
ROOTing the phone
Downloading apps from outside of Android Market
Then this is clearly a software issue.
I've been using my SGS2 for over 30 days STOCK non rooting and I've run into ZERO issues.
Please report BACK after you take the SGS2 to STOCK with no 3rd party apps installed...

I'm so frustrated I'm ready to not have a phone just so I can destroy this on with my hands. I paid 199 for this phone, don't even feel it's with $10, maybe it is but android sure isn't.

Factory reset and go back to stock, if you are still having issues then return it for a new device. I have not had a single force close, wifi issue, bluetooth droppage, nor widge malfuntion. If you are installing other roms it sounds like you are not following instructions. you could be also installing applications/widgets that have not been updated in awhile to support SGSII? Feel sorry for you having so many issues, but take it back for another and complain. Maybe they will upgrade you to a skyrocket or something else if that will make you happy?
No complaints on my SGS II other than it can't cook me dinner or replace my nagging spouse.
Why not list the apps you installed, or as other suggested bring it back to bone stock and do a factory reset.

Allow me to explain things as straight forward as possible. Please note I am not going to attack nor will I insult you.. I am spelling out facts.
Android Market does not allow malware.. There are 3 types of applications. 1) Free Application offered for no cost, 2) Ad-enabled application free to the user but you have to deal with ads gets money to the developer, 3) Paid for application. You pay for it
Now with that said.. Lets look at what your installing, If you can list out all the applications on your phone this is done by
Go to Market
Click Menu
Click My Apps
Type in all the application names there in here.
That will better help us diagnose your problem. Without that we really can not help you as a novice user you may mistake "out of the box" with nothing done when you have downloaded 10 applications. That is not for me to say but for you to show us.
Next when your asking for help please make sure to be terse and to the point with your problems, adding in extra frustration for it only makes you seem "troll" like. I could see how the other user seen you as if you where promoting IPhone and bashing Android.. Make sure to keep your personal impressions to a minimum and that will help you out here.
And remember, 99% of all problems you will incur as a user with force close are usually the users fault. Now if your a developer.. Well yea.. You will be crashing a phone alot.
So get us that list and lets see if we can't make your phone experience as good as ours is..
I hate this feature a lot. I wish it would go away.
I don't remember the phone doing it when I first got it but it seems to now. I didn't pay much attention because I didn't expect the phone to do it seeing as how none of my previous phones have.
Without having to root the phone and disable it - is there a setting somewhere that I'm missing which is causing the phone to wake and the volume keys to work normally even though the phone is locked?
I'd check your recent app downloads? Cause that doesn't make any bit of sense. Just tried it and nothing happened. Up down held up and held down. Nada

Reddit news. Google Wallet. Chrome Beta. DI.FM Radio. ES File Explorer. Facebook. Soundhound infinity.
Pandora, Roam Control were both recent but removed them and restarted the phone and it's still doing it
And that's it, besides the preinstalled apps. Literally. I wish I could attribute it to an app
That's very strange, is your phone completely stock? I can confirm another EVO that is not doing this.

I would do a hard reset and install each program one by one to see which one does it. I have those all installed except Reddit, Di.fm and soundhound. I have no problems at all so it could be one of those.
I wish I had your problem op... I'm used to the power button on the right side (epic touch), and find it quite convenient

I've been attempting to avoid that real hard. I have flashed all past phones and I was trying to just enjoy this for what it was for a while. Flashing roms always sacrifices features or has other tradeoffs. Tired of that. Kept the number of apps way down, kept everything as simple as possible and of course... things still go wrong. Haven't even rooted it yet.
Time to start over

Mine was doing that too. I even complained to my gf about it, but ever since it happened about 2 times and its been fine since. Seems like ghosts in the machine lol

Man I want my phone to be as unresponsive as possible when it's off. and I want it to be hard to unlock.
If there's any semblance of "easy to unlock" I pocket dial a solid 18-22 people a day while at work... and since I've got my exchange account paired to it with the company phone directory of a few hundred people... it starts getting interesting real quick.
haha this is funny. these few have volume wake by accident(likely b/c of something they flashed or another app borking something) and do not want it at all, all awhile these others would love to have the feature....haha
to further clear it up, this is not a new sense feature as others have mentioned as mine here is bone ass stock not a single mod or even app downloaded on it yet and it does not do it one bit...

I use face unlock.... So if my phone dont see my face...... It wont wake....... I used to use volume wake on my 3d and got so used to using it. I didn't realize how cool it is to use the volume keys.
