So my title says it all, I did the s-off for my 1.19 hboot successfully but now I can't flash TWRP (via fastboot) because it says there is no partition there... What should I do? Thanks in advance

What exactly are you typing into the command prompt?
If your twrp is named twrp.zip you should be typing in
fastboot flash recovery twrp.zip

download the app goo manager and install twrp that way it the easest way!

You could also download the PJ75IMG.zip from TWRP's web site and throw that on your SD card and load it from your bootloader.

I've tried all those, thanks guys. My Voice wont work now either, data is fine and the phone is working great but no phone or text... gonna retry running S-off exploit and see what happens :/

If you're S-OFF, you can safely run the 2.13 RUU (which will fix recovery) without losing it. I did it after downgrading to HBOOT 1.12 (to achieve S-OFF) then ran 2.13 RUU and I am now on HBOOT 1.19 S-OFF. After you run the RUU, get the TWRP image at
HTML:
http://techerrata.com/file/twrp2/jewel/openrecovery-twrp-2.3.1.0-jewel.img
, boot to fastboot, then run
Code:
fastboot flash recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.3.1.0-jewel.img

Update software to 2.17 latest radios and everything.... Then do the unlock thing .... if you get to the unlock code bin part and apply and it says sucess but nothing happens.... Then you will have to snag the 2.17 RUU exe and run it then after that reapply the unlock code bin...
noob ? then. that is sytem update right?
Figured that out lol

I guess you can. You still can relock your phone I don't see why not
I have no problem using hboot 1.5 You can get a app on here or on the market called flash gui works like a champ when it comes to flashin roms and kernels without having to use a computer...
I just couldn't stand the bloatware on the stock phone now it's all gone
So after unlocking and putting Su and can on I can flash roms
Flash gui image is a must have if you are stuck with hboot 1.5

Are you opening your cmd prompt to the appropriate folder and is your recovery image there?
At the command prompt, type: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img[2nd recovery = your recovery's name, you could also rename to "recovery"]. Good luck.

.img files do need to be flashed through fastboot. I think the problem is that you're trying to flash a boot image to the system partition. Try "fastboot flash boot evilrc2.31.img"

Try renaming the .img file to "boot" and then flash it. I know some people had problems flashing recovery files and renaming them to recovery fixed the issue. So you want something like this:
Code:

Via the bootloader.
I'm suprised you're trying to install recovery through fastboot and not through the bootloader. Thats one of the best perks to being S-OFF
From http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/98
"Download - Bootloader Method:
http://techerrata.com/file/twrp2/jewel/PJ75IMG-twrp-2.2.1-jewel.zip
Download the file above and rename to PJ75IMG.zip and place it on the root of the sdcard. Boot into bootloader and accept the update. Boot back to the rom and rename/remove the file"
You can install all sorts of things through bootloader. It has to be on the external SD-card, not the internal one

Ruu Version

So I have the virgin mobile 3d and I am rooted with s-on. I've been trying to get it off tho. So I was following the quick and dirty thread. And so I relocked the boot loader and then I started up the RUU like the guide. And about halfway through the installation it gave me boot loader version error 140. So I looked it up and I think it means that I was trying to downgrade. And that's why it didn't work. I was supposedly going from 1.14 down to 1.13. These are the version The ruu gave. I'm not sure what the numbers were about but can someone help? That ruu was supposed to be the most updated one. And i have been searching like crazy. Any help would be appreciated. I understand these things, so don't be afraid to talk techy to me lmfao. Thanks

See the note for S-ON users in this post, which is also linked in the informational posts after Step3 of the guide. The reason you are having this problem is because you have already installed the OTA, which has a higher main version (mainver) than the VM RUU.

The PG86DIAG.zip file is an advanced diagnostic that is very tightly controlled by HTC, but the bootloader always looks for it anyway.
The filename for the zip doesn't matter when you use the fastboot flashing method. Can you paste the messages you are getting here starting with the "fastboot erase cache" command? Make sure you delete the PG86IMG.zip file from the root of the SD card before trying the fastboot method.

So you're saying I should extract the PG86IMG.zip from an older VM ruu? And then place in the root of my sdcard? That would give me the stock boot loader :-/. I already got s-off with jbear hboot 1.7
I'm trying to dual boot eventually so I want to be on hboot 1.5
Edit: one thing I haven't tried is leaving it named PG86IMG.zip and placing it on the SD card. But using 1.5 is that safe to try?. I'm thinking it will work because it is a sprint phone. It has sprint branding. It is just on VM. Let me know what you think

Follow the instructions in this post since you are S-OFF already. I recommend the JBear 1.50.5050 instead on the 1.50 hboot since that doesn't need to be unlocked to run extended fastboot commands.

[Q] Trying to root EVO 4G LTE, not working

I've been trying to root my EVO 4G LTE using various guides from this board, and I'm not having a lot of luck. I have HBOOT 2.09 and it's S-ON. It seems like the easiest way to root the device is to go S-OFF, but then it appears that the device needs to be rooted to get S-OFF. So I'm a little confused at this point. I've unlocked the bootloader and installed TWRP, but when I try to install the SuperSU root utility it gives me an error about mounting partitions and fails. My bootloader screen also displays "TAMPERED" which seems to be a problem but I'm not having a lot of luck finding a way to resolve it.
So... can anyone tell me what my next step is?
Thanks in advance.
Are you using Facepalm, Moonshine, or DirtyRacun? You haven't really provided enough details to help, at this point. What's your software version? I assume you're running the stock ROM?
I was running the stock ROM, I think it was 3.16. I tried using Facepalm but again it seems like it needs root to work which I haven't been able to achieve just yet. I tried installing the ROM from this thread through TWRP but it just hangs on the HTC screen so I'm not sure what's on there now. I can still get into the bootloader and recovery though.
You can't use Facepalm on 3.16 software. Use Moonshine.
Try flashing this stock rooted to get back to a working state: http://d-h.st/users/Captain_Throwback/?fld_id=10308#files
You may need to fastboot flash the boot.img to make sure it fully boots.
OK, I downloaded that ROM and extracted the boot.img. I booted the phone into the bootloader and ran "fastboot flash boot boot.img". It seems to have completed correctly, no errors at least, but now the phone just sits at the HTC screen with the red text at the bottom. Clearly I'm doing something wrong...
Did you flash the ROM too? Or did it reboot on you when you tried?
I just did the boot.img. Should I also do "fastboot flash zip 3.16.651.3_stock_rooted_odex_CPTB.zip"?

You have to flash the ROM in recovery.
Ok, so I went into recovery which is still TWRP, adb pushed that ROM to the phone then tried to install it. It gives a bunch of error messages about being unable to mount various items, says it's unable to find path for partition [name of the zip] and fails.
Thanks for your help and patience so far...
You do not extract the file, leave it as a zip and do not open it. Move it to your SD card while in fastboot (mount sd) and from there use twrp and select the correct zip to flash. But above all... DO NOT EXTRACT THE FILR

I don't understand what you're doing here. Boot to recovery, mount storage, copy the ROM zip over, and then flash it.
Ok, so I mounted storage from recovery, or least I tried to, my PC said it needed to be formatted. So I did so, copied the file over and flashed it which completed successfully this time. My phone now boots properly, I'll give Moonshine a try now. Hopefully I won't need to bug you again, thanks for all the help.

I'm having a little trouble with Moonshine. It reboots the phone a couple of times, gets to step 3 then just keeps printing periods in the program window. I've been reading through the Moonshine thread and it seems other people have had the same problem, but I haven't seen a solid fix yet. Anyone know what I need to do or should I stick with the Moonshine thread?
