Recently my friend downloaded a video of resolution 1920*1080 on his galaxy note n7000
We both used mx player to run that
His note played it well
Bt my xu showed "cant play video using hw decoder "
Why so??
I used sw decoder to ran that video, it lagged too much... When he used sw decoder... It also lagged in galaxy note
My question is that why cant I used the hw decoder while he was able to use that
We both have mali 400 ( he has mali400mp4)

All of the player that mentioned above, lag when playing video 300mb++ size. Go to market and download 'MX VIDEO PLAYER' for free. Its the greatest player (all format) and your HD video can be played smoothly. Enjoy!
Thats not true I try to play with Mobo Player Jackass 2 in HD and it has got i think about 4 gb and no lag on my Neo =)

Hey Guys just want to ask that which resolutions are good for converting a video for LWW??? Coz i m new here so i dont know abt that phone too much ... 1st i was on samsung galaxy mini and there was a pc suite called KIes that do this job for me easily................
Resolution: 720p or lower will work.
Format - MX Video Player plays quite a lot of formats, download it from Market if you can't play with stock player.
Best is ofc native resolution (320x480) but if you wanna play just some normal divx rips and etc and dont so much care about capacity you dont need convert
Sent from my ST15i using XDA
Okay ill try to convert on 480x320....
Why convert anyway? I watched regular 720p films fine on my LWW, without doing any converting anything.

Dn't need to convert ur vids.....:/720p works just fine just use mx player as said above !!!

no need to convert? please...
if you play 720p cpu is using a lot more of power! to convert this 720p on the fly to match smaller screen, and the video is using too much memory on your sdhc...
I always scale my videos to match the screen resolution, its just better!
example, if you have 720p tv show and it weights 1.1GB... and the same video with the same quality (*on cell screen!) after scaling down with avidemux to match 480x360 weights about ~300MB or less!
with scaling videos to match screen resolution i can put whole tv show season on my card

720p/x264 in mkv container works just fine.
I really try few mkv in all modes mx player (soft/soft fast/hw) hw dont work for me. Here is problem? What mode you using?
Sent from my ST15i using XDA
Mostly S/W or even S/W Fast when i'm watching files shared over wifi.
H/W mode is not supported for all codecs afaik. I would suggest you to go through this page, it might answer some of your questions.
Iam just confused how so many ppl here can play on same hw 720p smoothly and i just with lags. I check it later, is not so important play 720p on 480x360. I just wanna try

Hi All
I have LG optimus p500 phone which came with Android 2.2 when I bought it. With this stock rom I was able to play all formats of videos very smoothly. I was able to play Ranging Thunder car race game. Later I upgraded Android 2.3 Cynogenmod 7. This time videos played smoothly in the default player but was playing very slow in the other players such Mobo player but the game Raging thunder was playing properly. Now I have upgraded to this ROM on ICS.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1563818
Now the videos are playing slowly and the colors in the Raging thunder game looks like x-rays (I am not sure if this is called Color banding problem), proper pictures are not appearing in the game.
I would be really great if someone could help in resolving this problem. I have attached the screen shots of the raging thunder game.
I have the same problem in the below ROM which I had also tried.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1626281
I am using the same videos files that were working in stock rom.
Thanks
Rahul
It's the same on all ICS roms for our O1. As stable as some of the ICS roms are, they still lack functionality in some aspects... and playing videos and hi-def games is one of them. You'll have to roll back to CM7 for better performance with videos and games.
openmax
if we get openmax drivers then our video and games will now run smoothly

Thanks a lot for your reply. Do we have the open max drivers for lg optimus p500 if yes where can I find it so that I can install in mobile to solve the above 2 problems.

N its pretty known to everybody that ICS is still not stable enough for our phone without those crap OMX drivers... why open a new thread to report a bug thats well known to the devs n everyone else on p500 forum?
The OP knws the reason for his new-found bug n no one can do anything bout it...
As for Stock ROM is concerned, it can decode DivX n XviD codecs using H/W.. While Custom ROMs dont have the required codecs to render them in H/W...

Guys try this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25957091&postcount=412
It managed to load completely my 2GB folder of videos and plays wmv files aswell with the help of the "Hardware acceleration" option enabled.
