Hi.
This is my first try at a hack for android. Been readin java previously so i know the basics.
I think there are others that would enjoy this "hack" aswell.
So to the hack i want to make.
Remove notifications while in Car-Dock playing music.
Remove the 25% volume thingy for media volume.
These "features" are incredibly annoying.
If my N1 is in the car dock the media volume goes down to about 1/4.
My notifications go on top of the music. While my N1 is in the car dock im quite sure i would notice a incoming call / sms / email. So there is no actual need for a sound.
What i want to do is remove the lowered volume and all notification sounds when in car dock.
I already removed the car home screen becose its utterly useless.
But this didnt affect the volume as i thought.
If anyone wanna help out with this it would be greatly appriciated
You could use the app PhoneWeaver to fix both issues. It has a car dock trigger and you can turn off all the notification sounds. Also allows you to specify a level for the media volume.
I tried one of these previously.
It removed the sounds. BUT it still muted the music for the moment the notification was supposed to play.
So it didnt disable the notifications. Only muted them.
i would actually like to have mine lowered like you describe, it always seems to crank up the volume so much so that it distorts the sound when i dock it and it is then not adjustable through the settings or through audio manager pro.
I'll have to check out phoneweaver, i emailed audio manager pro and they said there was no plans to set up profiles automatically triggered by docking the phone...
the way i deal with this is i have two home screen shortcuts for audio manager pro that sets all audio and mutes notifications and another that sets it back to normal
holy crap...6.99 for the app, perhaps ill wait to try it out
Ill get to work on this project next week when i have some time.
hi,
i got the new 4.3.1 android CyanogenMod.
all sound like ringtones and notifications are too low, i can barely hear it. i checked the sound in options and its on max. how do i fix it?
one more question: how can delete all sceens but the home screen so i would have only one screen?
Hi all,
Bit of a question here.
I've just upgraded from a Galaxy S3 to the Xperia Z2 and overall I'm loving it so far. It's just such a huge difference. Only thing I'm missing is a screen protector (As soon as I removed the peel from the one included in the box it just seemed to suck dust from the air and became impossible to put on without dust and bubbles being under it ) but overall it's a great experience.
The only issue I have is that, compared to my S3, and compared to the volume that games/videos can reach, my ringtone and alarms seem to be very low volume, even when the volume is turned up to maximum.
Is this something others have noticed?
I've tried several alarm apps, the stock one, Alarm Clock Plus and Alarm Clock Xtreme Free but all of them put the alarm at the same level which just isn't as high as I could get from the S3.
Does anyone know of a way to boost this? The alarm in particular is what concerns me the most, since I use my phone as an alarm clock to get up in the mornings for work. At the moment I'm a tad paranoid so keeping my sim-less S3 as a backup alarm to go off 5 minutes later

Not possible unless Sony updates their firmware.
Needs root to change the gain levels.
me to I've just upgraded from a LG G2 to Z2 and i have same issue the notification/ringtone very low
Hm. Well, for me, my alarm wakes me up just fine. I'm not exactly a light-sleeper, but definitely not a heavy one either.
As for text messages... I do occasionally not hear it.
Darn. Hopefully it's something Sony address in future updates.
I'm looking to avoid rooting at the moment given that I bought the phone Sim-free so am rather paranoid about bricking it.
Same thing for me.. Tried to play some music first then turn on the alarm and it's such a difference! I too use my phone as an alarm and I really can't be late for work anymore Tried several alarm apps as well but no luck.. Hope they fix it soon

Will check this option and share my experience
Thanks anyhow
Any confirmation?
I thought it was the volume security policy used by Sony like on their MP3 Walkman.
Anyone tried with Viper4android?

Thanks, tried it and its noticeably louder when receiving a sms
I haven't tried it yet, but this thread mentions another setting that might boost the volume of the internal speaker.
Will be testing it later today when I get home from work. Don't want to be testing my alarm in the middle of the office XD

Enable xloud as well
low ringtone for alarm
Hi,
In the sound selection menu for the alarm I have the possibility to replay a new possible tone. This is much louder than the alarm and it is much louder when the tone that is emitted when I pull the volume slider for the alarm to the right and keep pressed, which is too quiet for me. Currently, I find no way to set a reasonable volume. Currently, the vibrator is almost louder.
What have I done so far? I tried diffent sounds and mp3s. I have turned off all sound effects. No increase the ringer volume, no EQ, no Sourroundsound, no Clearaudio +, no normalization. The adjustable volume, is whe I use the side-mounted switches -> to maximum. Also the menu Sound settings volume - every sound slider is at max. However, the max volume is also different than the volume that is output when I replay this file in the menu where I can choose the alarm tone. The replayed sound is much louder and enough for me.
Please not a new ROM, I do not want to tinker.
Thanks for your help
Greetings
P.
This sound issue is already fixed on the new FW (.314).

No, the newest software .314 doesn't fix the problem. Without xloud and normalization(this helps the most I think) turned on I could barely hear notifications. Now they are the same level as when I play them from notification picker. Which all is kind of weird to be honest. Ringtone is normal when somebody rings me. But level of notifications when SMS comes or whatever is 2 times quieter than when playing sound from notification picker in settings menu.

There's a mod in Themes and app section where you can get both speakers working for notification as stock Sony ROM only use bottom speaker for notifications. This might help a bit
One thing I've noticed with xLoud is that if I put the phone into vibrate/silent mode, then the xLoud setting no longer takes effect when I put the volume back up again. Even if I disable and re-enable the xLoud checkbox, I'm back to the volume I got without xLoud. The only way to get it working is to power off the phone and then power it back on again.

Yea I used the mod before but that doesn't change anything :/ Sony messed up firmware.
xperia Z3
I solved the problem. I downloaded the app Ringtone Maker, opened it in the desired mp3. Click on the Fade and volume and set to 4-5. Save as like new notification and add to the desired application. Done.
As the title says, I want to turn off the notification sound when connecting a charger or docking the phone. The sound hasn't been there before for me and it appeared after I upgraded to 4.4.4.
How do I turn it off?
The notification sound is utterly useless for me and it wakes up my wife when I place my phone in the dock late at night on my nightstand. Some idiot at Sony probably thought a notification sound would be a great idea
Same issue here.
It was a retarded change without adding the option to turn it off.
If anyone has an idea it would be much appreciated.
Take a look in this folder, maybe you will find something interesting.

mr.loverlover: Thanks, I already knew where that sound file can be found. But since I don't have root, there's not much I can do about it.
Sry for the late reply.
hey lads, new galaxy alpha owner right here , have a problem with messenger app
.i cant turn off the in-app sounds
even though i turn them off in the settings they still are there
they are always at max sound, they are too loud, once i get a message i hear the loudest beep sound
even if i change the notification sounds to very low sound ,the fb messenger sounds are the same(too loud) all of this while in other apps the sound is normal and even in the keyboard the sound is normal
anyone else has the same problem with the same app?
overall i am too excited with the phone ,love it already
edit: ok figured it out after some testing, it seems the app's sounds change volume with the ringtone volume controller and not with the notification volume controller, thats pretty dumb.... cause i want the ringtone to be loud but i dont want the notifications to sound too loud... if anyone has any solution plz write it ,thanks
