Overclocking etc. is already included in the custom kernels, just go into the CyanogenMod settings, performance, cpu-settings and set the upper level as high as your phone will run on stably. Most phones will accept 729Mhz, some will go higher, some will become unstable. (don't use set-on-boot at first, if you selected too high a clockspeed you'll end up with an infinite bootloop)

Hello, x10mp user.
Just do a quick vote for ROM which you think is most stable and bugless and maybe smoothest. I think that will help new upgraders to choose leading ROM. Thanks.
P.S. If some ROM missing in list, let me know.

AND in the wrong section!! Post questions in QnA section!!
Looks like MiniCM7 Pro wining
Flame.E - GingerDX is best for me...
Minicm7 pro by far the best
GinTonic is the BEST!
less bug, + very stable and faster speed for 2D/3D
Tight fight MiniCM7 Pro and GinTonic.SE are two titans But I think MiniCM7 Pro is better.
for me its the gintonic the best.
used minicm7 before and it was good but when changed to gintonic i tought it worked better for my use.
but they are both pretty good
I have tested only MiniCM7 Pro (with stock kernel) and GinTonic.SE (with ZombiePanic kernel). My feeling is that MiniCM7 Pro was smoother and more responsive to user input than GinTonic.SE and than stock 2.1. I don't play games in the phone, so I can't speak about 2D/3D performance. Also, I had less forced closes and less battery drain with MiniCM7 Pro than with GinTonic.SE.
Hello guys, this is really my first post in here.
Can anyone tell me the most stable Gingerbread based ROM for X10?
Thanks
I am running cyanogen mod 7.2 and the FreeXperia Kernel and I have had no problems at all and it runs so much smother than stock!

Yeah I'm using also this ROM and I must say this is the best stock based ROM. If you would like to use some CM based ROM I would suggest you dixperia or techdevil. Those are also pretty good.

Already flashed the CM7.2.. Super smooth....
It's time to restore the app & data.

Ya, after trying out those cm ROM, Ya, they are fast, but not fully functional, the main function I lost is tethering out. I have a galaxy tab, with cm in my x10, I cannot tether to my tab.
In addition, the camera from cm ROM sometimes force close.

try the latest update from Maikinho10, it's a CM7 with fully working camera (and camrecorder), it's super fast and stable i was running it before switching to ICS

now I use ThJap based on stock 2.3.3. it is stable, more free ram, better audio quality but less UI compared to X10S. till now I just try this 2 custroms and quite satisfied with ThJap. next I want to use gaming rom but have no idea which rom is it
I´d add...and eveything works?
It´s a shame get an appearance ICS but after not working tether, cam recorder
It seems I´ll stay in X10s until change the phone
no doubt, donuthd.

My thoughts too.
Of the well known ROMs DonutHD stands out as a good all-round ROM.
That said, there are probably better ROMs and ones less will known, which may better suit ones needs.
If you compliment this with the DoomKernel v6 you'll get all the features that'll provide both good performance and battery life.
The fact that DoomLoRD is offering to develop a Kernel for the XPERIA S(LT26i) running JB 4.1.2[A phone which I also have] in no way 'rose tints' my judgement...much.
CM10 by scritch007 is a good JB ROM if you want to explore other Android ROM versions on an XPERIA X10. I've not tried many XPERIA X10i JB or ICS ROMs as I'm a fan of Adreno 200 2D HW acceleration allowing me to watch live 720p TV and recorded TV programs from my NAS. Adreno 200 GPU 2D HW acceleration only comes with GB 2.3.3 and it's derivatives.

There actually is a bug free and smooth JB ROM. It's called SlimROMs+ CM10 Revised3 for Robyn. I am using it right now, it does not freeze or lag too!
