i want to chane my menu button to recent apps, cause my framework-res uses "3 dots" menu funcion on the screen, so i dont need the physical button on my xperia mini pro any more.
should i edit generic,kl in /system/usr/keylayout?

We can use the menu button if we keep presing recent apps button, so....
why need to see the menu in top of the screen in apps?
I hate this, a normal phone with hardware menu button doesnt show this menu on apps, is there any way to hide this from all apps?

I remapped my capacitive menu button to Recent Apps on ICS. However, I've seen somewhere before a mod or something that forces apps like GMail, etc to show the on-screen menu button (I think it's called overflow menu). My problem now is that the apps still think that I have a menu button so it's hiding the overflow menu. How do I force ICS to show it? Or how do I make it know that I don't have a menu button anymore so it should show the virtual one?
I've done it long ago but my hard drive crashed so I can't figure out what I did before to achieve it.

How can I change my Xperia mini (ICS. 587) menu key to small app key?
I have changed "MENU" in "system/usr/keylayout/cyttsp_key.kl" to "APP_SWITCH" but it made my menu key to recent app key but what I tried is to make menu key to small apps key.
So anyone can help me to change my menu key to small apps key and long press home button in to recent apps?
With gravity box i made long press menu key get me to recent apps but when i'm at home screen it sendes me to launcher menu (to edit home screen ) and then to recent tasks so i want it to disable that menu and go directly to recent tasks any ideas how to do it
May be u need to dis able menu key long press action of your launcher.
I hate that Android has removed the menu button. Is there a way to put it back? What I would really like to do is change the recent screens button to function as the menu button.
