It seemed just like all the other carriers but yes best buy only has the working demos some out some not. I had to request to see it. The note seems fast I can't wait to return the iPhone 5 I just hope Samsung stays and updates fast when needed. Note 2 plus unlimited lte should Rock

Have the white GS3, I miss a dark colored phone. I admit it was unique having a white phone, but the white is a distraction, it doesn't allow the screen to blend into the phone as much as I would like. Just my 2c, and the button? It's obnoxious, like Mike tysons face tattoo. Shouldn't be there. Ah well!

I had an s3 when they first released. Yes...the WiFi notification is rather annoying. But if the note2 doesn't have the toggles you want. Check out power toggles in gplay. I use it all the time. Its awesome and doesn't require root access.

I'm sure there will be once some development goes live. I believe there was a way to remove it on the s3 w/o requiring root. I believe the app that was used is called SqLite. Don't hold me to that though. I could be wrong.

SQLite is a database engine. Maybe a sql database was edited to turn off the notification?

Yep, though root was required to make this change. I wouldn't be too worried though, a fix for this issue should be quick after root is gained

Looks like that could be the SGIII but I think Samsung would modify any upgrade a bit more that just looks like an extended SGII sans the bezel.

Refer to my previous comment, sir.
physical buttons are better than software ones.
1) if you use software buttons then part of the screen is lost to these buttons and therefore you are actually using a smaller viewable area.
2) if you use a bigger screen to compensate for soft buttons then you end up consuming more battery.

Has anyone been having issues with color banding problems with color gradations?
I've compared the same apps using my Note with my Skyrocket. The Note seems to have a very serious banding issue while the Skyrocket displays them fine. (See attached images)
I will go to the store and compare to another Note just to make sure before I return it for a new one.

As you can see in my post above, it apears to be a software issue not an issue with the screen. The software is telling the display to look like that.

This is one of the problems we are going to see on this device. These graphics were not made to stretch as far as the note stretches them. As more HD phones come out, we should see less and less of this. As pioneers, however, we'll have to deal with it for now.
It's the same reason phone apps look bad on tablets, and why tablet versions are eventually released.

An easy way to tell is to put a picture or graphic with similar tones to the graphic in question into your gallery. If it's a hardware issue, you should see similar banding. If it's simply trying to scale a low res picture too high, you won't.
I remember when the iPad first came out people were installing all kinds of iPhone apps on it and them complaining about how they looked. That's why they put that little "2x" button in the bottom corner. The apps would default to iPhone size unless you hit the 2x button, in which case the app looked bad. Then they started developing tablet versions of the apps and presto, problem gone.

Don't get me wrong, there probably are some units with bad displays. That happens with every phone that comes out. I'm just saying it's not likely a systemic hardware issue. By all means, if people are getting better performance than you, go see about a replacement. But if we are all in a similar boat (like the guy that posted a similar thread showcasing banding in the notification pulldown), it's likely a problem with the images, not the phone.

I wonder how effective it would be to take the stock images that are most affected (pull down notification, for instance), upscale them and hit them with the gradient tool in photoshop. Maybe if I get some time I'll give it a shot.

Sadly like most reviews they have no pictures of the note side by side of last years android model phones. I got my note finally (the grey one) and my rezound is the exactly the size of the screen area of the note. The s pen works better than I expected it too, but I purchased this for the screen size(my rezound has the same resolution), the 2GB of ram, removable battery, and the microsd slot.
I still cant access it from phone. Hmmmm

I think you mentioned the big ones - depending on you viewpoint. It's also a bit smoother AFAIK. I'm on BoneStock and can't really say for the plain ME7 for certain. There is a completely stock version you could try over in the dev section.

You pick a good time to ask because I was just about to ask what from ME7 I can add without locking down the bootloader.
I've seen it around the forum before but I can't find it again.

ME7 doesn't fix the people smear. It just changes some of the touchwiz backgrounds to a very dark gray.
The people smear is most likely hardware. The GS4 is the first amoled panel to completely shut off the subpixels when displaying black, and it seems the green subpixels just can't turn on fast enough.

idk if i could tell a difference anyway. It's included in the brand new hyperdrive rom that i flashed just a little while ago so i guess i'll find out anyway haha
People keep bringing up the apps to sd function but after reading Verizon's "Change Log" I didn't see it in there. I've read some confirmed rumors online about the updates that went to Germany and the UK having apps to sd but I haven't see it happening in the US nor was it on Verizon's change log.
Can anybody in the states confirm this features existence?

Yes, it does turn it a dark gray, but i found that the purple smear improved somewhat in other areas as well. (100% black) or maybe its just a placebo effect thing.
I am not a developer by any means. Just wondering if there is any efforts in Theming the icons on the second screen? Or perhaps mods
Would be great to get maybe more toggles like blue tooth or nfc.
And different icon styles would be pretty awesome too.
Seems with the second screen there is so many possibilities to explore

Why don't you root it and install recovery on it? I've already rooted and installed TWRP on mine the second I got home.
Someone is working on it, hopefully we see some nice options soon.

More or less looking into it for now.. I updated java the other day and it's been a pain in the d*ck.. I finally got it up and running again. 2nd screen is tied into a few things so it'll take some work.. What ideas are you guys wanting for modding the second screen?
The easiest answer is to allow for icon Theming but I think there are great possibilities
Maybe some people that don't want it and you can extend main screen somehow
A app draw toggle
Maybe a 6/7 icon shortcut instead of 5
Blue tooth toggle switch and many other additional toggle switches not provided
Right now I can't figure out how to make Powrramp a default music player on it
Definitely custom icons. That would be great, custom colors for notifications possibly.

Well I'm thinking a little less aesthetically.. I'd like to look into brightness control, auto rotation etc. I'd like to add if possible a little more functionality to it. I guess maybe see if we can change the background color or signature color. I've barely looked at it though so no guarantees yet. My wife was getting irritated with me after fixing java all day so I had to stop.. I'll look more into it as the days/weeks come..

Lol I realized that after I rooted it that I wouldn't be able to use android pay but whatever it's not that much of a hassle swiping my debit card and they're going to release updates for bugs for the v10 since it's fairly new I hope they're not major ones since I won't be able to take the OTA's

Ooh I got lucky I didn't even know the Tmo variant was the only one that was supported I bought it and found out after I hate how the carriers all take out the earbuds that are tuned by akg I really wanted to use them with the hi-fi dac audio on the v10
Yeah I noticed mine did not come with earbuds
One tweak I would like, if possible, is for it to stay on the music player or toggles when the screen is off. About 5 seconds after being on either of those it'll go back to the default screen with the date and time.
I think the second screen more customization from feature update.
Because hide activities for second screen now.

Widgets? That one thing could give us so much. An always on weather/clock widget that shows call and SMS count. Uccw. Just saying, that would be kind cool. Or move the notification bar up there when the phone is on, so we can take it off the screen and not miss it. Thank you in advance for any work you do.
