Works fast and fluid throughout most of the UI.
You should add a link to this so CDMA users can join in on the fun as well.

Theres no 3fps limitation
Here are some screens (Scritch I hope U don't mind)
And video (of v1):
Boo
You beat me to it....
I had started work on CM10 too. It boots to a green coloured lock screen, and even touching it would hot reboot it.
My semester ends on 7 Dec, and I will have loads of time after that. Let's see if I can contribute something useful to CM10

Hi scritch007,
I have a suggestion for you, Fera and other devs. Since the ICS release from Fera is very much stable now and I believe next release of Fera Kernel and ICS (which will be included all your patches etc) will fix the problem reported by ppl so far. The rom is CM9 based rom is in stable state now thus you can focus on CM10 which is nascent while CM9 on which Fera is already working there must be a final release for CM9 and complete focus of all testers/devs/themers on CM10.
What you would say fellows?
Thanks
OK on another note
If you keep only the es209ra device tree on your laptop and keep it updated, I can run you the builds on my server. I have a full set of cm10 and cm9 sources there.
We can figure this stuff out once my semester exams ending.
Since my X10 is not daily, I am looking to help with it. ...
Changing LOG to ALOG itself was headache enough and then the gralloc was crashing on my face....
It's really amazing to see how far this one boots and works.

I don't totally agree in here with you. Fera made an amazing ROM, but it is ported from other devices libraries. I'd like to have a CM9 built that is fully working. On CM9 there is also stuff that don't work (properly). Wifi tethering for instance. Video recording/decoding
I tested your latest build its much stable than the cm10 build which tomgus and I had i can see that many minor bugs which were present in FXP cm9 are fixed. Good luck
Edit:- One thing have you ported any overlay parts from KTG or 3.0 kernel .
wow 4.1, this is like christmas gift :good:
I'm going to test, I have seen that
EDIT: i had replace kernel.sin from rom to tft kernel, then i can get to cwm

I feel what Faisal meant to say is that let's get the CM10 party started full-on.
Am sure it's hard to let something that's so close and so long that you have been involved with. It would be very community thing where Fera is already onto something and Scritch onto something better for the entire community. Pardon me if i 've been pushy. You guys got me X10 loving! Otherwise i was happy with my HD2.

Everyone always wants what newer and shinier, but cm9 still need some work. right now it's really good but im sure he knows it can be better thats why he continue working. And remember the devs are people just like you and I with offline lives and as you probably know that this kinda thing takes lots of time and especially since the cat was let out of the bag early people would want work to start on it and want it finished over night. hype aside, all we can do is wait and contribute in anyway we can.
In my opinion the devs must continue to develop CM9.
We should have a full working CM9 before going to CM10.
That way you talk, about leave CM9 and go on to CM10 will leave us without any completed stuff to use.
Next will be CM10.1 (Android 4.2) and then others, and if we always want the newest one we will end without anyone of those working like they should.
@Scritch, juz wondering, do you need logs for this?
If so, just checking, i can do adb just by connecting my phone to the com and booting it while running

For the moment I'm still looking why the display is doing such strange things. No need for logcat, but your command is correct. You don't even need the -v long
i am in
flashing it and ten will see what i can do.
i know wifi needs some tamdisk editing to get it working.
data needs some more work.
is tripple buffer enabled in the kernel?

lol, the screen is mad
In case anyone is interested I tried every fix I could find in xda for reducing CM10 display flickering issue like disable/enable ing force gpu rendering, disable/enable ing hw overlay, changing minimum & maximum cpu frequency but none worked, they made a difference and changed the flickering pace & pattern but didn't solve it
Thanks a lot for you great work & contributions scritch007, truly a fan of your amazing work
btw is it me or this really seems smooth, a lot smoother than our current ics roms?

Re: [CM9][ROM][GSM][CDMA] ExtremeRom Beta2
this rom is amazing! Its as fast as a bullet!
But wat u could improve:
1.Leave the trebuchet launcher, it had more customization and it matches the looks of the framework.
2. Debloat it a bit more. Things like disable auto brightness, dev tools and terminal emulator are not necessary. instead make a flashable zip of them, like an addon pack.
3. Add complete touchpad control ( Everything from Farenheits thread)

Its Alright Though On Friday i Go Back To School So Updates Will Be Once A Week And Please Report If Working Via OTA I Just Updated In CWM

[KERNEL][STOCK/CM10][ALL MDPI] nAa's 3.x eXtend [20130926]

Code:
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM/kernel
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
*/
Now this is nAa 3.x based kernel. Major props to him for making it happen. I thought we all would be forever stuck with ancient 2.6 kernel
The original from nAa is already good enough, but because i know howto compile kernel and feels uneasy using kernel compiled by others, here u go, somewhat extended kernel from the original one.
Click to collapse
FEATURES:
Pretty much the same as nAa's, difference is:
1- compiled using Sourcery G++ Lite 2011.03-42 crosscompiler which is gcc 4.5.2 for kernel 3.4.x and with linaro 4.7-2013.06-1 which is gcc 4.7.4 for kernel 3.0.x
2- my own cpu frequency table with oc upto 1.8ghz with 100mhz steps. slightly preundervolted too.
3- not sure if its just me or the rom i'm using, interactive governor in nAa's seems abit buggy, it stayed at lowest frequency after waking from deep sleep thus making phone lags and unuseable. so i've patched it and make it default governor for kernel 3.4, and ondemand as default for kernel 3.0
4- enabled conservative and powersave cpu governor.
5- lowmemorykiller driver patched from various source
6- some networking stuff eg disabled all packet scheduling algorithm except sfb, and using veno as default tcp congestion avoidance algorithm.
7- using slub memory allocator instead of default slab.
8- enabled and use tiny preempt rcu instead or tiny rcu.
9- enabled sched autogroup.
10- wifi compat-driver is from "old" nAa's 3.4.0 which i think backported from kernel 3.8 or 3.9. current naa 03 kernel, he downgraded to compat-wireless from linux 3.2 due to some people said got connection error. that didn't happen to me so i haven't downgraded it. the 3.0 kernel uses compat-wireless 3.0.9-1.
11- currently patched to upstream linux 3.4.50 for kernel 3.4 and to 3.0.85 for kernel 3.0
12- removed smartassv2 and smartassh3 cpu governor. seems buggy and doesn't work well with kernel 3.4 and 3.0
13- added fiops disk io scheduler and made it default for kernel 3.4, sio as default for kernel 3.0
14- only for cm10. nAa's 03 got all individual ramdisk for stock, cm9, cm10 and cm10.1 ramdisk so it should boot with all those roms but i've only added cm10 ramdisk. if kernel detected that booting rom is not cm10 or cm10 based it'll force boot into recovery.
15- modules will be insmod directly from within ramdisk. existing modules in rom wont be touched.
16- miui based on cm10 compatibility by adding its required services in ramdisk.
17- stweaks support for kernel 3.0
18- probably many small things i forgot...
for more geeky bits by bits changes, read changelog.txt

BUGS?
it inherit the same bugs from nAa's kernel, probably more due to what i changed. but do not, i repeat, do not report bugs in any rom thread if u chose to use this kernel instead of default provided kernel in rom zip. by doing so u just made life harder for those rom maker/compiler. i'll *****slap anyone who does so.
but if u still want to report bugs, report to me and provide logs. without logs i'll just ignore it.

Exactly. I already wrote clearly in thread title, in first post and in changelog. Thats why i changed boot init script to force boot into recovery if booting into unsupported rom. Spare them hassle of watching lags and systemui crash.
Should've made the script to trashed and corrupted partition tho, teach them unforgettable lesson to read properly :sly:

Nothing. Wifi should always be fully working. Modules are called directly from ramdisk, not involving any files from rom. But if its not working, logcat and dmesg would be awesome.

Do you enjoy using the Stock CyanogenMod Kernel because it is extremely stable? Have you ever kept using the CyanogenMod kernel but wished you had some Governors and I/O Schedulers for better battery life and speed? Then look no further! Introducing the SimpleKernel! This is nothing more than the CyanogenMod kernel (Thanks to dhacker and Hashcode) with added governors and I/O Schedulers added to enhance the kernel slightly, and it has been compiled with the Linaro Compiler. Other than that, this kernel has no other pieces of code added to keep it simple.
This is only for CM10.1 or a ROM running 4.2.2.

I will add this to the To-do list. Probably look into this after I fix bfq I/O scheduler, and add OC.

There is a thread in XDA forums that explains EVERYTHING on this topic, so repeating is futile.
This is nice - we have now two kernels, nice work!

The last time i saw that post it did not have many of the newer governors.
Anyway here is a link to the same thread which has now been updated with a lot more details.

can you try a kernel build for droid 4 ?
there is a problem with the sound in cm10.1 and cm10.2 and until 10.1.2 it worked fine with cfq or deadline but now cm10.2 and 10.1.3rc2 are not working anymore no mater what scheduler I choose.
I flashed this on droid 4 cm10.1.3rc2 is booting and everything seems to work except the hardware keys (option, home, back, search). I would like to see if it's working stable with row scheduler.
I tried to build my own cm but the zip file will not boot and I followed several howtos and all the files are in the zip file.
Regards

This sounds like something is wrong upstream which I simply pull my source from. And without a Droid 4 or any sort of log I can't fix this. Sorry.
As for the hardware keys, do they not work completely or do they just not light up?

yes, the sound is upstream, but I think that is a bug in the motorola proprietary drivers, but it worked ok with cfq and deadline (found it by chance because noop was previously the default one).
the keys light up on screen touch or on hardware keys touch(not those on screen).
Previously I tried with an older version of jbx kernel but it will lag after some time and I am curious if your kernel will not lag but without home key I can't use the phone .
O maybe you can tell me by PM how you compiled the kernel so I could try with droid 4.
Thanks !
Working great. Thank you

My WiFi is working fine have you guys tried running the wifical.sh script them turning airplane mode on and off. Although I did have trouble with slim/jbx and WiFi not working after a dirty flash but a fresh install took care of it I think somehow some data might have gotten corrupted

I tried manually running the wifical.sh script and it comes back with an error and says could not calibrate. Tried reflashing cm10.1 and WiFi worked, then flashed simple kernel again and WiFi is broken again.

No Wi-Fi here also. LS2.9
I have tested again this kernel over last official Carbon 4.2.2. ROM using Safestrap in Slot1 and I got same problem... It doesn't boot, I got a black screen...
Any help would be appreciated. I'd like to test extra governors and ios...
Thanks!!!

the kernel is not nAa kernel ,it is lupus jb v8 kernel and camera works for neo l .tried by me . iwill provide u the screenshots after some time
and what will be the point of using a 2.6.x Kernel with a cm10.1 ROM.. and whats the point actually of opening a new thread for this.. you could have just mentioned this method of using this ROM in the discussion thread.. actually everyone knows this working method about 2.6 Kernel and cm10.1 ROM.. to be honest I have tested and given results about it as well ! even Bakisha I think.
Did you ask permission from him (mikeioanna) before Creating this thread ??
of all the little experience I have on XDA.. this thread should be closed as duplicate to original work and duplicate thread as well.
and something else, in the op you says you uses a 3.4 kernel, which isn't correct
Man, you made me curious for a while.

Anybody actually tested this, I mean if the Camera really works?

the way you have to install this rom and the bug list makes me think rom was 4.4 cm 11
first of all no dl link
second is here
1)first flash lupus jb v10 kernel
2)then press volume down(-vol)to enter recovery and then do full wipe(system, cache, data, dalvik cache)
then select zip to install from sd card as cm zeus lx.....
4)reboot system
note :first boot will take some time .
so it means its 2.6 kernel and its not even a new thing
this thread should be removed
please remove this thread @wedgess
OP doesnt really know what he is doing..this thread should be closed soon as doesnt bring anything new and are misleading users and not his work anyway.
first time i saw an OP asking wich kernel he is using??
please dont make this nonsense threads..useless and no point.
Thread closed, there is no purpose of this thread as the Original One is here in the same forum..
