Hello all, I've been searching for the past 2 and a half days to no avail.
I'm after the Vodafone UK 1.17 RUU.exe file; I've fubar'd my phone and can't flash the stock rom to start again. I've managed to re-lock the bootloader, but I cannot ADB into the phone to transfer a rom etc so need to start back as stock and cannot for the life of me find the Vodafone UK 1.17 RUU.exe file.
Anyone offer any help?

Just to clarify, I was unable to ADB or access the phone before re-locking the bootloader so got it re-locked in preparation of running the RUU.
http://d-h.st/Sp2 tryy that and remember to post the end results
It does state 1.14, but I'll give it a go and let you know!
only one I could find mate.... hopefully it will work If you could let us know that would be useful to know just in case I get in a mess sometime in the future
It's given the error of incorrect bootloader (HBOOT I think it means). Updating my phone to 1.17 changed the bootloader to 1.40 so I need the 1.17 RUU. Really appreciate your help though, and from a fellow Nottingham citizen too!
I had already tried the 1.14 RUU and that hadn't worked. Just need to wait on someone to release the 1.17 or higher for my CID. I'm ok in the meantime as I've bought myself an Xperia Z, so the One x+ will be sold as soon as it's working
First off I know sounds daft but.... you did relock the bootloader? if not is there a file somewhere with the old hboot you could flash?
And more strangely I had a xperia z until I swapped it for the hox+ lol Would love to know why you like the xperia better?
EDIT - do you need stock recovery installed also???
EDIT EDIT - what about this file? http://androidfiles.org/ruu/securekey.php?file=ENRC2B/RUU_ENRC2B_U_JB_45_HTC_Europe_1.17.401.1_Radio_3.1204.168.32_release_299688_signed.exe
Oh and lastly the other freaky thing was the guy I swapped my xperia with was called Adam lol only he was from derby
Yeah I re-locked the bootloader before trying the RUU; even tried it with an unlocked bootloader. The fact I can re-lock and unlock the bootloader gives me hope that the phone isn't completely unrepairable.
The link you've provided has a different CID number to what's installed so it probably won't work, but I'll try anything at this point so thank you again
I like the screen size (big hands) and I find it runs alot more smooth than my one x+. The only downside so far is the battery life, whilst it's not bad I do feel I could squeeze an extra hour or two out of the HOX+.
Re the swapping of the phones, funny how coincidences happen from time to time!
EDIT - I've got it as much stock I can without the RUU, and I think it is stock recovery as the RUU only fails as the HBOOT version being higher than the version that's trying to be installed - thus not completing the install. Also, I don't think we can downgrade the HBOOT until we get S-Off.
i know this going to sound silly but why did you need to return to stock anyway? Could you not sideload a rom onto it with twpr ? I've been testing sideloading on cwm but it dont seem to work :crying: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1995002
Its worth a try no?
My friends kid accidentally formatted the whole phone when playing with it. Don't ask lol
I tried side loading a Rom but couldn't get it to work, so tried everything before relocking the bootloader in hope there's an RUU released.

Can also push the rom to the phone with adb while in recovery mode using the 'adb push rom.zip /data/media/' command
Sent from my HTC One X+ using xda premium
Tried it mate, as I said in the OP I can't adb into the phone so can't push anything over

Finally got the phone back from the dead!
Turns out I needed to reboot my laptop at each new command; i.e. adb command > reboot > adb command > reboot etc etc
Thanks for your help, if I find the 1.17 RUU I'll post it here

Probably your SDK tool is incorrectly installed and / or the HTC's drivers. It's very simple to install have a look at this tutorial.

I managed to push the rom to sdcard/twrp folder; which also answers the first question lol.
Just want to say again thanks for your help!
Selling it as I love the xperia, think I need a break from HTC and sense based roms for a while! Still like the hox+ but fancy keeping the Sony lol

HOW TO Flash T-Mobile USA Radio (Needs More Work)
All credit goes to he_stheone64 and his thread located here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2245615
Credit: The War Horse - for telling me the obvious, how to get the radio was listed in the thread above all along
I apologize that is my first stab at development and for any errors you may or may not run into. This is fully expected to work with he_stheone64 method above as the only thing I changed was the radio.img.
This thread taught me how to extract the T-mobile USA radio from my HTC One. Now its time for those in the community who really want to have T-mobile 3G speeds to test this out!
This is for you and you deserve it. As I promised with no more words....
This is how you can upgrade your RADIO without S-Off
1. Download Radio update.zip below and copy to your SD
2. Only an optional step for those, who want to have a Radio Firmware backup just in case
a) Connect your device via USB in recovery and open cmd in fastboot folder:
adb shell
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p31 of=/sdcard/radio_firmware.img
You will now have current Radio on SD as radio_firmware.img
Expected output:
PHP Code:
PHP Code:
Code:
~ # dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p31 of=/sdcard/radio_firmware.img
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p31 of=/sdcard/radio_firmware.img
153601+0 records in
153601+0 records out
78643712 bytes (75.0MB) copied, 11.826523 seconds, 5.4MB/s
3. Now just flash the Radio update.zip as usual in recovery, reboot your device and enjoy latest Radio
In case you want / need to restore your current Radio backup:
Either you adjust updater script to radio_recovery.img or just do it via adb in recovery:
dd if=/sdcard/radio_firmware.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p31
Download Radio from:

Not only would this be better placed in Q&A but there is a thread specifically about this in the dev sub.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2245615
To answer your question though, you will need to get the T-mo radio to be able to flash it.

Thanks! However, it was stated in this thread that we first need the T-mobile radios right? so Im asking.
If anyone has the t-mobile radios please offer it here for download. Then we can begin the progress on flashing it over to test on the dev editions. Thanks
Yes! Please help! Thanks in advance *^O^*
If you get the radio, could be used on the att htc one x plus?
I'm currently using the att one x+ on t-mobile.

Thanks guys for making this possible.
I'm trying to backup the original radio but got the permission denied message.
Did i missed anything?
1. The phone was booted in recovery mode.
2. open CMD and go to phone's adb directory
3. typed the adb shell command and then see the rest command log

Can anyone confirm that tmobile 1700 AWS is working on dev edition?
I'm on Tmo with a 32gb unlocked One, so I gave it a shot. I have a SGS2 as well so I know I get HSPA+ here and not Edge, which is what I'm getting now on my One.
I backed up the radio, unlocked the bootloader, flashed recovery, flashed supersu, flashed Tmo radio, did factory reset. No luck, still getting Edge on my One.

You might need to root it first. Then enter the command "su" and grant permissions before the "dd" command.

I believe his phone is rooted already as he already has recovery. Your log you posted "adb server is out of date. killing..." IS CRUCIAL.
You need to launch adb and update it. How? In windows 7 just press start and type in "sdk manager". Everything is straight forward from there. Then try again

hey guys, i was thinking about the phone and was thinking that there might be a way to actually remove or alter the ***TAMPERED *** warning either via fastboot or using abd shell / dd command and hex edit. i know that we can already modify the CID and other things, but how about the tampered warning? it would be very interesting to try, and to see if anyone actually knows how or of a way to do it. I know already that you would probably need to be s-off, but i can't say for sure.
(i hope i am posting in the right forum. if not, feel free to move me appropriately. thanks!)
I am a bit hesitant to do a full bootloader memory dump, which i know is possible, but if there isn't any risks, one could should me how to actually do that correctly. I am, as of yet, a developer in training. i downloaded the latest Jellybean source from SDK manager and i am going to try to build something for either this phone or for my thunderbolt, which now has the ICS kernel i need to build into jellybean.

i was talking about while being s-on. its possible to edit other things in adb shell while s-on using dd and hexalter.exe, so why not the tampered warning? this is different than the s-off thread, so it has merit. i was just wondering if it could be done or if anyone has any ideas how it would be accomplished. someone well versed in "dd" programming.

The linked utility does indeed require s-off, but it will allow you to change your hboot screen to look 100% stock.

If you're s-on, then you might want to try this approach, but be very very careful... Changing the "HTCU" at 0x8404 back to 0x00000000 should change you back to "*** LOCKED ***", which may also remove the "*TAMPERED*" flag. I have not had the need to test this, so let us know if it works for you.

You can download the RUU (ENRC2B) from this :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2094118
you need to relock your bootloader before running the RUU
http://www.androidfiles.org/ruu/get...Radio_3.1204.168.32_release_299722_signed.exe
I'm sorry, I must have missed that one :/
I Tried this before but the RUU used didn't work, but I'll try to re-download and go from there.
(RUU_ENRC2B_U_JB_45_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.17.707.1_Radio_3.1204.168.32_release_299722_signed.exe)
Will it be a problem that my phone is 1.17.708.1 and that this is 1.17.707.1 (0.0.001 lower)?
Also, do I need to flash the stock recovery. And If so where would I go about getting it?
You will only have to relock the bootloader again and then (while in fastboot) run the RUU. Remember that you will lose everything on the device.
To relock the bootloader use Hansoon's toolkit. It has all the commands build in for easy use.
"Wrong CID" I'm not sure why this is wrong. 662 came back from fastboot getvar cid, and does indeed correspond to Hong Kong.
What would you advise from here dear sir?

I looked up the CID and it's just for HK, the phone came unlock so I doubt it needs a locked RUU. But hey, I've been wrong before.
Is there any reason the phone would not accept the correct RUU?
Okk,
This might seem a bit weird but I had the same issue with my Intl HOX+ and I have given it to hTC and they asked me to shell out aroun 18K to change the motherboard! (Which of course we all know is not required since this is a software issue).
So here is what I did:
1. I relocked the boot loader (I hope you have the unlock_code.bin with you, else get it from hTCDev)
2. Of course it started giving relocked security warning.
3. Again unlocked the boot loader and voila - it booted straight in to Elegancia!
This essentiially happens because unlocking the bootloader formats all the partitions except system and boot (I guess, because my media files were gone...).
See if this gets you through.
But DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK!
I am talking about International HOX+, I do not know if ATT works in a different way.
Unfortunately that hasn't worked and I'm still stuck with the stall during boot :/
I think my best bet will the RUU, but I just can't get one that will work.
Do you know a ROM that I could side-load onto my device and just use it with that?
Thanks

flash twrp through fasboot as only twrp provides side load option.
when twrp is flashed ,boot to recovery.side load incertcoin rom through hasoons toolkit.
don't worry about 707 or 708 etc.Mine was 707.1 but i am using incertcoin which is 401.3
after falshing incertcoin if it is again in boot loop then
use this command from adb
adb shell
wipe data
and reboot
you will be done.

I tried this one: RUU_ENRC2B_U_JB_45_hTC_Asia_TW_1.14.709.17_Radio_3.1204.167.31_release_291089_signed.exe
(But that didn't work)
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

Couldn't he edited the RUUs android-info.txt to only include the BS_US001 CID essentially to where he won't have to use fastboot OEM writeCID ?
1) Plug phone into computer
2) Reboot into Hboot by restarting phone and quickly holding volume down
3) Select fastboot
4) Open CMD as admin and CD directory to where your ADB and Fastboot files are
5) run command fastboot oem devices to make sure phone is recognized
6) run command fastboot oem write cid BS_US001
7) run command fastboot reboot
8) Run RUU exe file from HTC
9) Done
You must have a folder that contains your fastboot and ADB files in it. Without those you won't get very far.

Yes, but not as easy, and one really needs to learn this just as we all have, it will make you a better person at the end of the day, I promise. :good:
Its an exe,not the .zip files here and they are encrypted. So long story short no thats not doable.
Agreed folks need to learn at least the very basics of adb and fastboot commands.

Number 6 is incorrect BS_US001 is correct cid. And as i said above android-info.txt file is encrypted, unless someone decrypts the zip it is not doable.

OK...good to know...I was able to edit the android-info.txt file from 2.12.1700.1 RUU to only include GOOGL001 and 0P6B17000 without any kind of problems unless the encryption/decryption lays on another level during hboot.
Yeah cannot edit any files in the exe rom.zip, can pull boot.img out but thats it without it saying its corrupted.

There isn't enough info here for this post to be very meaningful in any way.
If you just did the RUU, and the battery life is "horrible" on the first day, its because the battery meter needs to be recalibrated after an RUU or ROM flash (and a factory reset prob doesn't help matter, either). Charge to full, than drain to about 10% or so, in order to set the "high" and "low" battery meter flags. Maybe you've been using the phone longer (and this isn't relevant) but as you've provided no detail or specifics, we can only guess.
Also, if you flashed the new LP Dev Edition RUU, its a new radio. So possibly reverting to an older radio may help. But again, you provide no details, so we don't even know what RUU you used.
For that matter, we don't know if you are using the AT&T network. If not, that may be your issue as well (as the Dev Ed is intended for use on AT&T's network).
Hi yes I am using the Att network and the problem is it's reallly Kathy and battery last like 6 hours with sot of 2 hrs and it says android os and Android system use half the battery
And I used the dev lp ruu

I gave a couple suggestions, so try those before typing any more poorly constructed run-on sentences.
Also, I have no idea who Kathy is. She must be a real drain.
I have done what u said and it hasn't worked. I apologize was at work and rushing . The Android os and android system are the ones that are draining the battery the most

Maybe, maybe not. I think some folks have reverted to radios in the past and claim better reception. Some folks have had issues. Its just an idea.
Or you can try the Euro or Asian LP radios. But I'd be surprised if it gave you better results on the AT&T network then the US Dev Ed radio.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=58306004&postcount=734
Instructions on how to flash radios on the first post of that same thread.
But you said you tried my suggestions, now you are saying you didn't try this one. So its frustrating to try to help someone when they give incomplete or incorrect information.
