Public transport using NFC? (Oyster, Orca, Clipper, EasyCard, etc.) - Nokia Lumia 920

Hello all,
With NFC on our phones, has anyone heard of public transport agencies that have NFC payment in the works?
I bet a lot of us would like to replace our Oyster (London), Orca (Seattle), Clipper (San Francisco), EasyCard (Taipei), etc. cards...
Just a thought!
Thanks

thanks dear
so which version is better the version with NFC or with-out NFC ??
It depends. Do you have a use for, or intend to use NFC? If so then that is the better one. However the device with NFC will probably be slightly thicker.
If you have no need for NFC, no desire to use NFC, then it doesn't matter. If you want NFC functionality then obviously the one with it is better.
Supposedly NFC is going to be rolled out big-time around the UK just before the Olympics, but at present there is almost no where to use it.
Here is a BBC article detailing some of how NFC is used in Japan where it is widespread. At the moment however it is much less common throughout the rest of the world.

If you are a tweaker, and like to create custom tools to aid you, having NCF means you can create custom NCF cards to make life easier (in theory).
If you are not, you will have to see how wide-spread NCF are in your country, region, area, town, whatever. As of now, NCF technology is only widely used in Japan (for years).
For me, I don't really care.

I'd ordered a set of 4 xperia NFC tags on ebay and it cost like 12 euros that is ~ 20 dollars in CAD.
Its been a little over a week ill let you guys know is it real deal or not when i get it on hands. Ive had 2 xperia NFC tags before but something came up and i never got them back so i can tell is it real or not lol.

I bought my branded XPS in Portugal. The box came with 2 tags (red and black).
I made the other 2 tags (blue and white) out off two old University cards using the "NFC Tag Writer & Reader" free on the market.
Just need to erase what was in it and add as URL the following (explained in another thread):
For the red tag:
semc://liveware/A1/1/NT1/2/smarttags1
For the blue tag:
semc://liveware/A1/1/NT1/1/smarttags1
For the white tag:
semc://liveware/A1/1/NT1/4/smarttags1
For the black tag:
semc://liveware/A1/1/NT1/3/smarttags1
Actually if you buy the blanc nfc it is pretty cheap but I guess everyone should have NFC tags at home and can use it. Some old metro tickets, University cards, gym cards ... etc There is really no need for buying the overpriced Xperia tags.

Unlocked New Nexus 7?

So I know that it won't be released on July 30th like the Wi-Fi only model, but I am curious as to how to actually obtain the 4G/3G/whatever service. I know you buy the device from the Google Play Store, but does it come with a SIM card that you just go to T-Mobile or VZW or AT&T website to activate? How does that process actually work?
I've owned many tablets, but they are all Wi-Fi only. This will be my first tablet with Data.
While I'm here, my main use of this is for mostly media(ie Google Play Music, YouTube, Pandora, etc) but also Navigation via Google Maps, is it a good device for Navigation in the car? Do you recommend a certain dock/mount for the car?
I know it's a lot to ask, but I very much appreciate any information you have
When you purchase a tab, it doesn't include a SIM card, you need to purchase one from a dealer (of your favorite carrier).
Any dock for car should be fine (provided that it supports 7'' tabs), of course, there are specially-designed docks for the Nexus 7, but again, any of them should work.
So who would you recommend for that? VZW? AT&T? Or T-Mobile?
I have VZW now but they are expensive.

[Q] Square up competitor

Hi everyone, I'm a developer in the UK and am starting a start up to bring a Square up style service to the UK however I have run into the problem of security and compatibility with the US system of magnetic strip credit cards vs the UK/ european union system of chip and pin credit or debit cards. Does anyone have some sort of open source app like this I can look at?

no NFC ?

Has anyone figured out if It is possible to activate NFC as the specs state there is NFC however nothing on mine.
Thanks
No NFC on Zenfone Max Pro M2
I wish to follow this thread too. I heard that there is NFC in this model in certain regions but not here in Indonesia and Malaysia. Does that mean that the phone has the NFC chip but is disabled here? Is there a way to activate it?
Why would they disable NFC for phones sold in Malaysia and Singapore? NFC payment terminals for goggle pay is found in almost every shop here. I think it's left out to cut costs?
