Some Questions.... - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

I have rooted my xperia U on ICS.I want to ask some questions
1:Is bootloader unlock necessery?
2:I heard a new update is coming. Will i lose root after updating it?

1. Only if you plan to install a Rom that needs a custom kernel.
2. Yes

It means i cannot overclock my phone
And if i have cwm recovery already installed, will it update or not?
I am asking this because my wildfire s could not update with custom recovery.

For O'Clock you need a custom kernel. For custom kernel you need UL bootloader. I didn't understand the second part.

Whenever there was a new ota update for wildfire s,it can only be updatable through stock recovery, not with custom recovery.

bootloader unlocking and rooting has nothing to do with flashing through PCC. just connect and if it says update do it...... u will only get problem if u flashed a custom rom.... if u flash custom u wont get update via PCC.... wait for a .tft file of ics...... i bet some one will eventually post it( and hopefullyearlier than the default PCC of ur region ).... then just flash it via flash tool..... if u find a .tft of ics sola the follow only the first step of this link

if i helped please click thanx.............
With an unlocked bootloader you cant update via pcc. You can either relock your phones bootloader and flash a stock rom or wait for someone to upload a ftf and flash it via flashtool

Thanks so for relocking does the rooting matter or do i have to do something to revert back the rooting also .. or just relocking is enough
Your phone won't boot after the relock so you'll have to flash a stock rom

hey im just wondering, will my phone be still rooted if i'll update via flashtool using a tft for ics sola or would it revert back to a non rooted phone? i hope it does stay to be rooted because i enjoy my rooted jb sola atm.

Friend i have two issue with this kernel.
1). After i flash it it display "Unfortunately, keypad has stopped" and "Unfortunately the process com.android.phone has stopped" errors.
2). I can't see Superuser app in the app drawer.
Can you help me to fix this things.
Edited:- I flashed the superuser app via recovery, now it fix, but i have that errors.
Thanks!
@gregbradley: is that kernel from Neo V, based on .431? If yes, in .431 neo and neo v had different kernels, and when neo used neo v kernel user got problems as above. Not sure if it's same on .587
@android addicts: if you wanna keep her phone stock as possible, my advice is to have stock .587, then hotboot kernel which have CWM, and flash superuser.zip, on the next boot phone will boot with stock kernel and you will have superuser.
How to hotboot and what to hotboot check here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1678690

No. Don't do that.. You will end up with problems.
Don't do OTA updates on phones with unlocked bootlaoder, specially not if you used official method.
That update is because you have .587 fw and .431 kernel, that's why you got notification about update. Let me guess, it's ~14mb?
If you just wanna root, and keep stock kernel, try following my instructions.

If I may ask, since I see you didn't end up wit boot problems, did you unlock bootloader with unofficial way, with s1tool?
p.s. you have another option, since you have root access, install titanium backup, and uninstall update center app
but still, my advise is flash stock .587, hotboot kernel with CWM, install superuser.zip and that's it, you are on stock with superuser access.

Or you connect it in fastboot mode to flashtool, it should say Bootloader Status: Rooted (or simliar) :good:

Your phone will return to stock as it just came out of the box if you flash the factory image via fast boot. Including kernel and recovery therefore, you will lose cwm. You can also lock up the boot loader again using toolkit.
