To get an accurate response to this question, you should email Samsung.
You are asking a question regarding the release date of an official Samsung firmware, on a non-Samsung affiliated forum.

True. Also it appears to be quite difficult for people to not ask the same question over and over again here...

Indeed. Common sense seems to be extremely lacking for many users on here who fail to understand that they should use browse or search before creating topics.

What now with ATT MIUI thread locked?

Now that the galnet att miui thread is closed where can we find updates? I am aware that we can go to the galnet site but I only see the I9100, correct me if I'm wrong but we will have problems if we try to flash this version. If we don't get our own version on galnet what needs to be modified from the I9100 version to be compatible with our device. Sorry if it's a dumb question or if it has been answered elsewhere.

Best bet would be to try and get galnet to add support for the att sgs2

Lets jump on miui.us forums. Those roms have ota support. The dev seems new though.

Here is something I found on it. Seems like they were asking for donations to get beta releases of their Roms and XDA did not approve...
Mod please reply
I for one would really appreciate a response from a moderator as to why, particularly given the conversation pasted in the above post, why it is that these threads were killed. On the surface, it seems arbitrary and without merit...
Went through other galnet threads that were closed and the reason is that they don't release their source for the rom.
yea they are shady. Good roms but they do not comply to gpl.

yeah I remember seeing a few devs doing that back in the cappy forum a while back..
Galnet is gone... I'm not sure if we'll see the whole story, but from what I can see, I can say I don't like their attitude. It also looks like this is something that has taken a LONG time to reach finality.
As to why vanilla MIUI might have been pulled - I don't know. I'm fairly certain vanilla MIUI for the I777 was kosher GPL-wise, unless there's another GPL component beyond the kernel in question.
Here, this may enlighten the situation a bit...
zelendel said:
It means that the android kernel is protected by GPL laws. Which means the source code has to be made available. MIUI breaks these laws and refuses to post the source. So all MIUI roms have to have a custom kernel not made by the MIUI team.

So long story short, they violated several rules and GPL laws. They are gone and not coming back.
It didn't get pulled I had the admin removed it because it was to much drama at the time but it looks like I shouldnt have even tho I don't know as much as some ad these other dev, I'll reopen the thread and anyone is more than welcome to Help out with the development of the rom/port.

No, opposite. As long as they are not including the stock MIUI kernel with the rom then they are not breaking any XDA rules. But if you do see a MIUI rom including the stock MIUI kernel, thats where they break rules. There is a stock MIUI kernel built off of CM. The source has been asked for a few times and they flat out refuse to release the kernel source... so the upper staff decided to can the whole thing.

No more releases?

It's about one month i cannot see any new "stock" release. LA4 (2.3.6) and LPB (4.0.1) are the last I can find. What is happening at Samsung? Are they working on some new hardware and spending more effort on it? Or do they think this is the best they can do? IMHO there is still a lot of work to do.
Is there someone with fresh news?
UPDATES:
1) Gingerbread will have more updates
2) Icescream Sandwitch first official release will be at the end of March
3) there are rumors about a US official ICS release at 1 of March

Jeez if you read the 7 million posts on here you will see that Android 4 is due for release soon . Hardly likely that Samsung will update 2.3.6 though networks may still update as that are always behind .

1.there's no need to release 2.3.6 updates!!

In conclusion the opinion is that gingerbread will have no more upgrades and we must wait till the end of March for the first stable IceScream Sandwitch Sgs2 release.
Personally I hoped Samsung would have been releasing some more Ics beta test releases to give evidence of their immense work and in the same time they would have been bringing that experience on gingerbread, has they did till last releases.
I will copy these Infos on the first post and I will keep it updated for more news.

Scrollable widgets in ics sluggish

For me the scrollable widgets in ics are pretty laggy. In particular the Agenda and Social hub widgets. If you scroll trough them, it doesn't go as fluent as in normal apps and is actually pretty laggy. Can anybody say whether this is normal behavior or not? I've done multiple wipes and re flashes but this behavior stays the same. I'm on the stock ICS rom

because if youd bothered to read up on anything you would see that scrolling in general on ics isnt as good as it is on gb. Making two exactly the same threads asking if it is normal is a bit pointless.
But hey, try making a 3rd thread asking the same question. Maybe it will have changed

I have yet to find meaningful information on scrollable widget issues in ICS. I'm not condonining the OP's multiple thread creation, but this is one of the top Google results related to the issues, which indicates there isn't a whole lot out there.
Can you please point to some relevant threads? From what I have read, there are absolutely no issues with scrollable widgets and ICS, and that all apps have all been properly patched already.
Now I know this isn't the case, because neither of my phones are working properly... it's not a ROM issue because both are flashed from scratch.
My only guess is that it's a launcher (Go Launcher) + app (Pure Widgets...) issue.
Can anyone confirm? A few comments/reviews on the Pure Widgets apps on the Google Play Store seem to agree with me.
As a follow-up, I have found out that the issue is due to Go Launcher... I tried the latest beta version (v3.00 beta 1) and the issues disappeared!

I understand that. However, there is no reason for anyone to rude about it. It would have taken an extra 2 seconds to tell OP why his post was a "Fail". I get every new comer to XDA will ask the same questions over and over. If you (not you Phalanx7621 directly, I mean users here in general) don't have anything to post that will solve OPs issue, why bother wasting your time posting anything?

Whatever man. All I wanted to convey was that even though OP posted in the wrong forum, there should still be some level of decency to tell OP why, even if the latter sentence is "Fail on so many levels" and have a mod close this thread.
Request for Mods: OP posted this in the wrong forum. Please close this thread. Thank You.
We do report threads. But maybe you don't realize how often this happens. Its irritating to us because it could have been avoided by simply looking to see what forum you're in. which isn't really too much to ask. I agree, extremely rude responses aren't appropriate, but everything most of us say is light hearted and not meant to be taken too seriously
