Sorry about that they crammed so much xperias together that did not see the xperia S was not in it. Thanks alot though. But how's it running on xperia P?

Cm9 is stable and works just fine.
There's only a few small bugs that are being worked out but its definitely stable. I can't comment on cm10 because I'm not using it, but I have been using cm9 on my S for months now.

Cm7.1 vs 7.2???

Which cm version is better in terms of battery? I m currently on Grif_07 cm7.1 and it is incrediblely smooth! If the battery of this is better then i m going to stay on this ROM until the release of official CM7

The other one
Go for 7.2 lastest nightly 12.4.21:thumbup:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=23540759
Or edited version by itasoulos v2 or w8 till he relase v3
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24489125
The official CM7 is already out It's a nightly build but it works fine. I wouldnt say that the battery is exeptional but that's probably because I abuse all the functions and features (which uses ram).
Any bugs on nighty? I prefer to wait for the Stable one, if this nightly is okay now, then Stable version will be here very soon.
Also I m feeling that 7.1 is smoother than the vo-1 or FAT builds cm7.2, which both of them r battery monsters

many people report that CM 7.1 has better battery backup compared to CM 7.2.
but CM 7.2 is more smooth.

Yes and no.
Mostly post rc are stable but they might have new stuff added and removed, thus may have issues.
Oh so these issues will be solved isn't it.. I even sometimes get a signal drop.. very rare.. there hasn't been an update to the rc1 since 26-6-2012.. hope something comes up soon.. cyanogen are really awesome..

CM9 Nightly is pretty stable tbh, never experienced any signal drop and it only randomly rebooted once, might have been my fault too.
I think you should give it a try.

No we have regular updates after RC 1 last time I check it was at 5-7-12
But it shows for the galaxy s2 international version cyanogenmod 9 rc1 last update date is 26-6-2012.

You have to look under nightly, not RC.
Am using a rc1 nightly is too buggy
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
placebo guy... RC = renamed nightly. As codeworkx said, there's NO difference between a RC and a stable nightly. You can't take out the RC tag, swap to NIGHTLY and say that the nightly is a unstable one. Months ago, the first stable nightlies were coming out.

Shortage in kernel development

XSX and SSpeed is now officially stoped
That leaves us with Adv Stock Kernel
Anyone willing to develop more kernel?

I'll be leaving the kernel temporarily, once I got everything back together in my personal life, I'll continue it.
We should keep in mind we are all people with other primary jobs and family, girlfriends, dogs or cats. Life is complicated as it is. Keep it simple.

well, we still have FreeXperia with us and my hope is CM10 from them...
I'm sure everyone is waiting for the kernel source code of ICS to get publish by Sony as its easier to built by that way.
Well i still have my HTC legend. I don't know android so much as building them but i know that the GB and the ICS kernel are worlds apart. and thanks to this forum i can see CM10 running on my Legend although its in the alpha stages but its there...
Trust the dev here my friend!

I know what you are feeling here, when I had my Arc S I had many choices either Custom Roms or custom kernels. when I got my Xperia P I'm left with nothing
I tried many times building my custom kernel but it never succeeded in booting
I guess I better stay in Windows Apps programming

Many developers have left these forums to get other phones.
Sony's Xperia line is just not that exciting to modify, it seems.

Exactly, for example the developer of ArcKnight kernel which is one of the best custom kernels for Xperia Arc & Xperia Arc S, replaced his Arc with a Galaxy S 3. which means no more ArcKnight kernel. and so did others.
The stock kernel from Sony is already very good, no need to tweak it much right? There are 2x OC kernels based on stock, a pre-rooted stock kernel, 2x CM 9.1 kernels and 1 CM10 kernel.

2 OC and 1 CM9 kernel development is stopped
That leaves us with a prerooted stock kernel and 1 CM 9 & 10 kernel
Not really have a choice

But they are stable no?
Ya stock kernels are good, the only reason that is pushing me on to making a custom kernel is I want the latest build of the stock kernel (which is on July 30) with CWM & auto root included. no tweaking is necessarily I think.

I mean what the point of unlocking bootloader if there is no custom kernel?

[Q] Jelly Bean for X10i any possibility?

Dear fellows,
Just seen Nexus S has got OTA for JB 4.1.1 it is having 512 MB RAM (split 128MB GPU / 384MB OS) the same we have for X10i. So is there any possibility for CM10 or any other release port for our old X10i?
Thanks
Not really no. Ics isn't even that stable yet and doesn't perform as good as Gb. It'd be almost mission impossible to get a stable jelly bean port

I'm using ICS very stable release from Feravolt ICSv4. Its butter smooth and I'm satisfied for daily use. Actually I want to know about the challenges in porting CM10 to X10i ..
Thanks

Try a device with official CM9 or CM10 and you'll see that you don't have any stable/smooth ICS rom for X10.
Feravolt did a great work and every dev its giving the best to bring ICS to our beloved X10, but now I lost my hope on that.
Hopefully we will have a good rom with almost everything working, but not a real ICS or JB rom.
