User manual - HTC Droid DNA

I am surprised the user manual has not leaked yet.

[Q] Users Not Able To Install App From Market

I have an application on the market, and with an update released the other day a lot of users are complaining that it no longer works on their phones. None of the permissions or requirements for the application changed with the release, and I was wondering if anyone had any insight as to what may be occurring.
It seems to be ICS phones that are having this issue. There where a few reports from users when the application was first released, and I could never figure out what went wrong.

automate manual updates of aYes pps from play store

Yes i understand that the apps that require manual updates are there because there has been a significant change to the program and or requires new security permissions not perviously available to the app. I also for the most part dont care and it gets really annoying to go in and hit update on each app when i have like 40 manual updates to process. has anyone found a solution to automagically get them updated as well with a single click? any help would be appreciate.

[Q] Android Security Hot Topics? Graduation conclusion work.

Hi,
I'm a student from Brazil, and I'm entering in the android security area.
I'm going to do my graduation work in android security, and I'm looking for good topics or themes to talk about.
I choose 4 titles as options, but don't know if they're good enough and "hot topics". Can you tell me what you guys think?
1) Analysis of the security applied to Android
2) Revision of today's forensic methods to mobile focused on Android
3) Data exposition: analysis of the security flaws in Android
4) Exploit and malware analysis for Android.
And, if you let-me ask more, can you send-me some hot topics about android security?
Thank you very much.

[Q] Statistical analysis of Android shared memory leads to critical security issues.

This was released today but there does not appear to be much info on whether this is already in the wild. It would be almost undetectable.
Apparently it is possible to use statistical analysis of the size of the surfaceflinger off-screen buffer to predict with 90% accuracy what another app is doing. All an attacker needs is an application that runs in the background, and does not require any special permissions. Once it determines that a user is entering his password, for example, it can bring to the foreground an identical looking password dialog and capture the login data. Since the user expects this behavior, they may never notice.
So far all I could find is the actual paper:
cs.ucr.edu/~zhiyunq/pub/sec14_android_activity_inference.pdf
And some videos of a proof of concept have been posted:

The question is: has this been seen in the wild? Seems like a very serious threat without an obvious fix...

How to grant background microphone access to specific apps? (with or without root)

First of all: I do not intend to sound needy.
If I do anything wrong, please be civil and let me know.
Also, I could not directly link to the Wikipedia articles due to the 10-post-requirement.

I have observed that mobile phone manufacturers tend to do adverse changes for the sake of change. (No rant, just an observation.)
Also, the reason why dark themes are getting popular in 2019, despite of their ever-existing technical advantages, is because it is trendy. If the actual practicality mattered to manufacturers, it would have been done more than half[Wikipedia: Buzzword] a decade ago.
Back to topic:

Google is notorious for removing [Wikipedia: Draft:Android_removed_features]a lot of [Wikipedia: Draft:List_of_features_removed_from_YouTube]functionality.
Unfortunately, [ developer,android,com/about/versions/pie/android-9.0-changes-all#privacy-changes-all (unable to parse URL due to sub-10 posts) ]an adverse change in Android 9 effectively disables anti-theft software entirely.
Yes, I get it, [ URL : Wikipedia: Buzzword]“It's for privacy!. As much as disabling the Internet altogether.
They should have given users the option to manually grant specific apps access to the microphone, instead of deprecating a big load of software that relied on these features.
How can I manually grant microphone access to selected applications?
I don't mind rooting my phone.
Google recommends people not to root their devices, yet they encourage people to root their devices with these restrictions.
