Ever since the original JB update for the Prime, I have been unable to use "google now". When I attempt to use the app, it begins to boot the mountain range background of google now, but instead defaults to a plain screen with google search. I have attempted to go into the settings for the app, but when I would click the button to turn on google now, it just wouldnt stay that way. If I went back to the settings right after, google now would again be turned off. I have tried updating my firmware to the latest version, I have uninstalled and reinstalled google search, but to no avail. I had done a factory reset when I installed JB. Can someone please help?
P.S. I never had any sort of tutorial about Google Now pop up when I originally installed JB
Have you updated "google search" from Google Play?

My sister got a nook tablet a few weeks ago and I helped her get Go Launcher and Google Apps including the play store. Everything was fine but she called me last night with problems. Most of her apps on the Go Launcher home screen were in the "Loading" state with just an android icon. When she would open the Play Store it would tell her she needed to add her Google Account and pressing the button to add an account would dump her back on Go Launcher. Gmail also dumps her straight to her home screen. She also mentioned something about Go Launcher saying she should try relaunching Go Launcher. After a couple restarts I wasn't able to make any progress on the phone.
So, before I make my trip out to see her, what are some potential culprits? It sounds like the accounts app broke but I don't know how or why.

You're thinking of Google Docs. I'm referring to the generic Google Apps for Android which includes the Play Store, Gmail, Talk, and more.
Try clearing the cache from both Google Play and Google Services Framework, and then reboot.

How can I do this? There is no application management menu in the settings like on normal android.
Turns out the nook tablet updated itself to 1.4.2 even though I had the 9.9.9 version "fix". Why did it update? How can I prevent it in the future aside from loading a custom rom?
Hey everyone,
I hope this is in the right section. But just recently i noticed my phone acting weird. Seems when i open google play store and do a search, Most recently i did "Weather Widgets"
It will return with like 6000 app results. Normally when you click the apps bar it takes you to the app results, When you scroll down and you reach the end of the list it will auto load the next group of apps.
Well now when that happens it no longer loads anymore results and it stays stuck on the first 10~15.BUT this is the weird part.. IT ONLY DOES IT FOR APPS and GAMES.
Music and Books the list loads as usual.
So far i have wiped the cache / data and just tried uninstalling the recent update and took it back to version 3.7.15 but google play auto updates itself back to 3.8
This really sucks. Anyone know how to stop google play from auto updating? soon as i wipe it back to 3.7 it auto updates back to 3.8
Nevermind - Resolved.
I guess somewhere along the line when gapps updates to 3.8... it no longer likes the device ID. I checked it and its DROIX but 3/4 of the apps on the market dont show.
So i downloaded Device spoofer and setup gapps as a Nex S. works like a charm
Hi everyone.
I have a problem on my HTC One S (S4) everything Stock (again)... no root, bootloader locked etc.. (but don't think the problem is device specific)
I will describe it a little detailed so sorry for long text:
Yesterday i saw under notifications that "google+" is auto-updating to latest version. but because of i don't want to use google+ (and i can't uninstall it), i pressed and hold (during the update-process - on the notifications bar) and tapped on "App Info". From there i selected to stop the task, cleared the data and deactivated. Then it was gone also from the notifications. -- i know i could have tapped only once and stopped the update in playstore, but i just wanted to make it quick.
But the problem started there: when i want to open playstore, it shows up for a second then closes back again with a FC. Reboot didn't helped.
I have done clearing data of "Google Play Store" and "Google Services Framework" and rebooting but this did not solve the problem.
Today i received 3 Update-Notifications for some apps but when i tapped on the notification, playstore opens then closes after a second the same way.
I got also a com.google.gapps (as far as i remember) FC-error sometimes..
I wanted to install the playstore from an apk, but interestingly i couldn't download anything from the (stock) internet browser (the download does simply not start or the download-page closes). I also tried with Chrome to download, but there i even got FCs when i wanted to download anything. So i think this has to do something with the playstore-problem.
Now the question is: is there a way i could fix this, without restoring the whole phone?
Problem solved (thread can be closed).
i just needed coffee to wake up i think. i simply restored all app settings to default (via HTC Sense). Everything works now.
Yesterday Google Play (com.android.vending) stopped working. It consquently crashed everytime I loaded it.
I restarted the tablet and Google Play was completely gone. All dependent apps (Google+, Gmail, etc) and apps that rely on Google Play for billing either stop working or have issues. I cannot install any apps now that Google Play is gone.
I updated the tablet to the latest firmware (I had the original 4.3 on there from around the beginning of the year) now I just updated to 10.4.B.0.109 to see if that helped but it did not.
(My Samsung phone has successfully updated Google Play the other to a new version 4.9.13 with a significantly different look and feel so I expect Google has rolled out a big update that has broken my tablet)
Has anyone else experienced this?
Same as me , my google play version 4.9.13, everytime i tap the menu from left-top button, it will crash.

Thanks letting me know.
Have you restarted your tablet yet since Google Play updated? It was crashing for me and was when I rebooted hat it completely disappeared.
Actually, i try clear cache and restart, still same result.
And i did factory reset, because it is a development machine, but no luck.
So it may be bug of this version.
The model is LG L9 P760
Strange. Works perfectly on my end (Tablet Z, .230, KK).

I faced with this bug. You have to revert to 4.8.20 and then install 4.9.13 as ordinary apk, reboot and it will work as promised.
So today I got a new "Android Wear" and "Google Play-Services" update on the Play Store. Well, seem good so far right? Since 5.1.1 was announced and we all saw this happening.
What we did not see was that this is probably going to cause some mayor problems and it took me nearly an hour to fix now. So to make this as easy as possible for you guys here's what I did to fix this.
The scenario: After updating you constantly get force-closing wear applications on your phone (Such as "Audio Recorder", "Facer", and so on) and the Google Play-Services and your watch won't successfully connect to your phone anymore.
On your phone open the App Manager
Go to "Google Play-Services" and "Manage". Delete all Wear data. (your account won't be lost)
Go to "Google Play Store" and delete all data there (your account won't be lost)
Go to "Google Account Manager" and delete all data there too (again nothing will be lost)
Go to "Google Framework" (only if it's on your phone, else skip) and do this once again
Uninstall your Android Wear Application, restart your phone and install it again.
Try connecting your watch now. If it still fails...
... Factory Reset your watch
That way I fixed mine. I know, kinda sad that this happened...
My phone: Xperia Z1 Compact running latest CM12 (not 12.1) Nightly.
I have the same problem too and hope we see 5.1.1 soon or dont use a the new apk :crying:
