The Base
Code:
The Base is a super customizable ROM that includes Base Settings, made by me.
All mods were done by me except where credit is given.
Please do not use any part of this ROM without permission.
If you wish to help in the development of The Base please PM me.
Check out the changes / features below.
In order to flash this you need to have an unlocked bootloader and be running a custom recovery.
If you are not unlocked, go to the link below for FreeGee and unlock before flashing this.

No wipes are needed when installing.
Installer will wipe system/app, system/framework, and a couple other directories to remove odex/unnecessary files.

First be rooted already.
Second be unlocked already.
Third, download and copy Full ROM and Update Zips to Sdcard.
Finally boot into recovery and flash the zips.

Seems to set battery to 0% after flash so need to recharge lol or shut down happens

I'm not sure if it's just my area/connection, but the LTE toggle turns it off, but not turns it back on. It also seems that you can't view individual account sync settings without settings crashing.
Update: Managed to re-enable LTE by enabling ro.radio.networkmode
Does this ROM address or fix the fast dormancy issue? I'm not in a LTE area and this causes my battery to drain like you wouldn't believe.

I'll test LTE more tomorrow when I have LTE service.
Check out the accounts fix in OP.
Just flashed the ROM and the fix at once. So far everything looks/works good, no odd problems at all.

F.A.QQ: I'm a developer. Can I integrate this framework into my ROM/Theme?
A: Of course, only you have to not include the control app.
Q: I'm having conflicts/fcs because of the custom rom/mod I'm using.
A: Most probably this is caused by lidroid's toggles, to fix that just delete lidroid-res.apk from /system/framework and reboot.

What is this? Well basically, you have an apk which I will provide you with, you can add ANY battery you like to it, and then install it as a simple app, choose custom battery from Simplistic Control and Voila! The battery is there!
The apks can work on any Simplistic Framework starting from V3, and this allows to create something I like to call a "Battery Library" where someone can post a thread full of these batteries

This has made me wonder, would it be wise to reflash a clean copy of our chosen ROM first, to avoid conflicts with any other mods?
For example I currently use a number of raubkatze's mods such as transparent notification mod and blue notification / toggles theme, although the latter isn't working for Omega v7.3 yet (has to be updated for 23 toggles).
Would be cool if all could work together
Just a precision (as Legend might be sleeping ^^) : this mod isn't compatible with lidroid mod. Neither with raubatzke themes for toggles (at least)
I think it should be cool to be able to :
- customize color of toggles
- show / hide toggles names
What do you think guys?

to the OP have you tried flashing one of the kernals for our phone like ajk jt kernal or even the jeboo kernal i think one of those should fix the button mapping on the phone ....i have ported this rom for my own personal use ( thanks again erad1 !!) and ive had no problem with the capacative buttons

Agreed, I ran this for a bit and had no problems - just need to flash one of the new kernels.

So.... I'm really confused here. What would the difference be if I downloaded this from the i9100 section myself and flashed a kernel vs downloading it from this guy's links and flashing a kernel. What specifically was changed here to make it ported?
Edit :the reason I ask is because to "port" a rom, takes literally two steps for most i9100 roms. 1)download rom. Wipe. Flash rom. 2)download ajk kernel. Wipe cache and dalvik. Flash ajk kernel. Profit.

You're right, Phalanx - this isn't a port at all. It looks like all this is is Goldies' file from the 9100 forum. If we have to flash a new kernel or update the key libs manually it isn't a port.

So yeah. I am all new to this porting and developing so I just have a guide from the main form page. The only problem I am having right now is just that there is no boot.img or zImage file at the root of it. I have changed the modules and keylayout.kl. I am uploading a new version where everything works...

Before installing this rom you MUST FLASH THE MJ9 OTA firmware released by beans for ODIN ONLY.
This will ensure proper functionality of your phone and this ROM.
We will not support or help troubleshoot things not working if you have only flashed the modem via recovery.
This rom requires an updated pit, TZ, Hidden, params and modem to function the way it was meant to.
The only way to get these updated is via odin flash.
Also well before flashing this rom, please remove all files you would like to keep a copy of from internal storage.
Switching to 4.3 from 4.1.2 changes quite a bit, including the location of the internal SD cards memoryblock.

Instal Steps
1. Boot to recovery
2. Wipe Dalvik, Cache, System, Data, and FORMAT Internal Storage
3. Install the rom. Its a very straight forward Aroma
4. You may skip the setup by taping 4 corners of the screen, starting at the top left and going in a clockwise fashion. You will then be prompted for dropbox setup if you installed dropbox. At this point(haha oops) you will more than likely have a hard reboot. Once your rebooted all will be good
5. Before doing ANYTHING go settings, click the menu hard key and switch to tabbed view, goto controls, and enable Air command and Air View WITHOUT PULLING THE PEN OUT BEFORE ENABLING THESE. Once they are enabled pull the pen and make sure Air Command works. If it does not work. Simply reboot into recovery and reflash the rom making sure to select to only wipe Dalvik & Cache NOT DATA.

P.S.
We have included Ultimate Dynamic Nav Bar XDA edition with the rom. It is an Xposed module, which allows you to use your S Pen with greater ease being as we do not have wacom compatible buttons. Watch the Video of the rom to see how it works!
Recommended settings for UDN:
-Configure buttons to be the same as the hardware buttons as well as secondary interaction
-Themes and behavior, set the theme how you like. However to match the status bar size - Height of panel should be set to 23dp
-General Settings: Please select the method to activate panel as - Swipe. This will prevent accidentally toggling when not needed.
-General Settings: Check Hide panel after action, Check Hide on outside touch, Check Toggle Mode. This will allow you to keep it up while the Spen is out, and when your done simply swipe your bottom left corner
As well the custom apps/Xposed can be reached by switching to tabbed view in Settings and going to Device tab.
Another app to note that we've included is Notify Clean. This will enable you to remove any notification whether ongoing or momentary. For example when you boot Ultimate Dynamic Nav Bar, you can get rid of this. As well, we have left all stock notifications such as wifi, keyboard, lockscreen, ect ect as stock enabled. This will give each user the ability to remove notifications as needed to thier liking.
Titanium Backup/Root Explorers. System Apps are a no-no to touch. Some apps that some may deem as bloat I have left to ensure complete STOCK functionality of all features. Freezing or Uninstalling any system apps may cause issues of some minor all the way major features not working. If you have modified any system apps leading to features not working, I will not provide support for your issue.

REPORTING A BUG/FC So here is what I need in order to help. Download a logcat application from the market. Do what you have to in order to reproduce the issue. Load the logcat to either pastebin or drop box and paste the link. We cannot fix issues based on pictures (unless theme related). We also need the following information.
-Clean or dirty install?
-Recovery used?
-Stock app?
-Reproducible?
-Frequency?
We will be updating the OP of both the Rom thread and this Q&A thread with this information. Without this information we are shooting blind and it slows down the troubleshooting process. This should be a prerequisite for any bug report

For those of you who Have a Galaxy Gear and want to sync weather!
Unfortunately I haven't figure out what the interaction is between the widget and the gear. The only way to have weather update on your gear is to use the Note 2 weather widget...not the Note 3. So I will be posting a flashable zip momentarily that will move you to the note 2 4.3 widget and clear the data for the app.

For those of you that want to use S Health! And want to use it with their Gear!
YOU CANNOT HAVE THE INCLUDED XPOSED MULTIWINDOW MANAGER TURNED ON OTHERWISE S HEALTH WILL CRASH
Now the bigger question, we all want custom apps in multiwindow, best way is to either use gravity box, OR set the apps you want then disable the module.
Now then...I've included the Basic Launch APK of S Health from the note 3 with the rom....however?!? You all want the new update and features so download this and install as a regular APK!
Download by clicking Downloads on the DEVDB Tab, S health apk
Once this is installed you'll have all 3 widgets, as well the pedometer should work. And it will sync with your galaxy gear. Just remember - Multiwindow managers are a no no!

Looks like you download the base ROM from the bottom of the giant quoted section with the change logs and the first link with MARC in the name...the file name has Verizon in it.

The only trouble I had was it didn't like my google account. I setup a new one and all was fine. Did you select "no recovery" and "no kernel" on install?

Negative. I flashed the rom and my modules, all looked good. Hit restart and it turned off, never to turn on again. Im going to have to replace my phone because of this ****. Its not a soft brick whee i can just flash a new image and start over. All that requires the phone be able to at least turn on.

I installed through SS on a side partition. what modules do I need to install? and what is the aroma installer?

you need to flash your modules. depending on your phone version it'll be mk2, mj7 modules ect.
Aroma installer let's u pick and choose wat apps u want to install

Same thing happened to me, just use the other full patch(the older one).

You shouldn't really be stuck. You can always skip the wifi setup and do it later (after you reboot and flash your modules). Your 4G should work.

What it does is it won't let u connect to wifi and then it will soft reboot over and over. By using the older SS full patch the problem was gone.

TROUBLESHOOTING:
- If you get stuck in a bootloop or an app-crash loop, see if you can grab a logcat, while dismissing the crash notification a few times:

Where is Mod Control?
By default, the launcher icon is disabled. Access Mod Control through System UI Tuner. If you're using the tabbed Settings view, change to List View.
How do I enable System UI Tuner?
Open the notification shade, and hold down on the Settings gear until your phone buzzes (or about 5 seconds). Let go, and System UI Tuner will be enabled.
How can I edit the navigation bar?
Open System UI Tuner >> Navigation bar

yup... i think it should be under the "LG V20 THEMES, APPS, AND MODS" section. Nevertheless... Thank you !
So I replaced the LG data icons with the AOSP ones, but it looks like I either used the wrong images (there are lots of similar ones) or they're combined/positioned differently in AOSP than in LG Stock.
It looks like I can change the layout in the `mobile_signal_group.xml` file, but then SystemUI just ends up in an open-crash loop if I make any edits. Figuring this out...

I figured out how to get custom positions. Now I just have to figure out what to do with the data arrows. Hopefully I can get them working. I might have to get outlined versions.
For the life of me, I can't find where the data arrows are being colored. There's an experimental build up that has white arrows, so you'll only be able to see them if you don't have full service.
I think for now I have to give up on fixing it. If there's anyone following this thread, what would you want to see AOSP-ified? Doesn't have to be SystemUI.

Open up android device manager in studio and see what it says. Thats the best way to find tricky things
