Hi
I know this isn't rooting or development related but you guys have been really helpful in the past when rooting my phones. I am using a HTC sensation at the moment. I wonder if this issue might be because I rooted the device.
When I open the mail application I see the following message:
"Sorry, your number's not being recognised my Mobile Mail. This could be because you're using WiFi instead of being connected to the 3G mobile data network to use the service for the first time. After it's set up Mobile Mail will work on both 3G and WiFi."
I hope you can help
Thanks
Jon

Hey guys, first of all, the LeeDroid Honeycomb + Phone is an AMAZING rom! The fact that they were able to allow phone calls & text messages on Honeycomb is nothing short of amazing (Since it was not designed for phones at all). I did however stumble onto something.
I had been using the HTC Flyer 3g with my AT&T account and I got this message:
"AT&T Free Msg: Your data service has been restricted due to SIM Swapping with a Data Connect Device. Please call 1(800)-331-0500 to discuss available plan options."
The internet, SMS and MMS worked perfectly for the first two days I had it, then AT&T cut it off. Has any one dealt with this before? I called customer service and they said because this device isnt a phone, that their system would not allow it to use the internet. Phone calls still work and so do regular text messages, but no MMS and no internet.
Would Flashing to a different radio cause them to recognize this device as something else? Is there a way around it? Am I just an idiot?
Greatly appreciate the work you did LeeDroid! This is by far the most comprehensive and bugless custom rom I've ever loaded!
Different radio isn't going to do anything. They are probably reading the IMEI number, which is not changeable.
I don't think you will be able to use this device on a phone plan.

Hey Aluthier:
Did your Flyer work on 3G, or was it just connecting on edge?
Thanks a lot!

The companies do this because they have different data calling plans, the thing is that they will be able to identify by the device ID, i think they have cancelled this so that you buy a "Internet Sim" this is nothing to do with the ROM i dont think
Hi, I have a strange problem I can't resolve.
I have a SGS3, stock ROM (but rooted) and using K9 mail (although I've tried using the native email app and having the same issue, so I don't think it's a K9 problem).
Basically, I can't send or receive mail while on mobile data, but when I'm connected to a wifi network I can send and receive fine.
It only seems to be a problem with POP3 mail. Browsing works fine on either. My exchange email (I use Touchdown) works fine on both. Other connected apps work fine on both.
It's just POP3.
I've double checked the settings in case they somehow changed themselves or were changed by something else. As I said, I setup the same account using the native email app, same issue. It just doesn't connect to the POP3 server, it just sits there and times out. I don't even get a message.
I'm pretty tech savvy but this one has me stumped. I'd really appreciate some advice on how to troubleshoot and resolve this problem please.
Cheers,
Pete
Check with your networks email settings especially the Ports .

That's what's called "****ty provider"; The most probable reason is that your provider blocks access to SMTP/POP3/IMAP except maybe to their own servers.
That is what Telekom Germany does or at least did for a long time.
A not-so-easy but highly workable fix is to use Exchange accounts. Not only will you get (nearly) realtime delivery of your emails but since it leverages the HTTP protocol you bypass port-based restrictions. A PHP-Script e.g. is Z-Push
Easier is to open a VPN connection.
Some also just use a non standard port .
BE UK block port 25 for example .
Worth checking your networks forums .

Thanks everyone so far. I should have mentioned that my wife, an iphone user, isn't having this problem and she's using the same ISP. Therefore if it were a port issue I'd expect her to be having the same problems.

It seems to also be impacting instagram. It won't refresh or upload on 3G but works fine on wifi

I am looking for an application which can be installed on Android phone and work as GSM gateway. i.e. the client logs on to a SIP server, receive calls through SIP and bridge them through GSM network of the same phone. Wondering if any came across or using such app? Thanks in advance,
I've been searching long for this without luck. Curious such request was there such 2010, but no developer make it....
Hi , try www.a2voip.com
Hello all,
I tried searching for this problem, both on XDA and on the interwebs, but I couldn't find any suitable answers.
I'm getting a network error message when I launch my Google Voice app on my Samsung Galaxy S2 i777 on AT&T's mobile network. The app won't sign in, so I cannot send or receive texts. In addition, Google+ does not connect either, it gives a "no data connection" error. However, Gmail works fine. I checked the auto sync settings, but all appears to be good. On wifi, the app works fine. Also, the issue is not with my data connection since I am able to access websites on 3G.
My phone is stock, with the latest 4.0.4 update on UCLL6. I kept getting the error prior to update as well (started happening in late February). I also checked the phone's date and time settings, because apparently that has been known to cause sync issues, but that didn't work either.
I would appreciate any help on the matter!

GV app version - 0.4.2.72

I solved this by deleting the app data of Google Search. Settings -> Apps -> Remove data
hello,
I am looking for a working app that I can get whatsapp messages for any device in my lan/vpn Network
The setup is the folloing:
Old S3 with defective Camera and Microphone on a powersupply is using whatsapp and whatsremote.
The problem is since WA has announced their web version, whatsremotes terminates their service mid April.
Whatscloud.io already terminated their forwarding service.
whatsapp.web doesn't work because of no camera for the QR code.
i used whatsair for a time too, it was fine for me, but the dev let it rot, so it stopped working.
Pushbullet worked sometimes but only with one PC other devices didn't get anything, and you cannot start a new chat.
Is there any solution out there or can I fake the QR code to whatsapp, and can i open more PC Sessions as in the other tools?
thanks for help Avalun
