As far as i know you should try handcent sms app. I belive that i saw such bubbles in one of the available styles of this sms app.

Hey, is there way to make sms text font bold (in the stock app)?
I know in the GingerBread 2.3.6 ILA SMS font was bold and much more readable (as same as other menus - also bold).
I do not want use Go SMS Pro or hancent SMS because for me they're overloaded with ****ty things which I do not need at all. They also doesn't have stock look which I like
