I just traded my iPhone 4 for a SGH-i777 (hope I made a good trade).
My question is about the icons. With the iPhones, one can install themes with custom icons & also the ability to change icons. Is there any way to do this with this phone?
I'm not trying to get a flame started, just an honest question from an android noob.

Way to push the poor guy back to Apple guys. He came from iOS, chances are he didn't even know what a launcher was. On iOS its Springboard.
OP, look up ADW and GO launcher. Both have enough themes and customization to make Android look like anything you want.

Welcome to Android and XDA u made a very good trade...... If you're still on gingerbread 2.3.4 or 2.3.6 holo or go launcher will work if you're on ICS 4.0.3 then I recommend Apex launcher you can search the play store for any of those.... GL just know most people on here are cool and will help you just ignore the punks their easy to spot.

I am just curious what ROMs people are using and would reccomend. I am currently using ICS Ultimatum. Awesome layout but not having 4G logo instead of H+ irritates me though. So just curious to see if there are other ones that I may not have seen.

Is that rom a sammy based rom? From what I understand unless you have a sammy based rom the H+ icon won't show up

Yeah that's an AOSP rom so you will probably have to get a sammy based rom. Although only some have the H+ icon. For example Abberation will give you the 4G icon. (There may be an AOSP rom out there with H+ icon but I'm not sure. It might also be possible to change the icon but you're gonna have to ask someone else)

How about we pretend you aren't asking which ROM vs which and focus on the other party, H+ vs 4G...
Task and ktoons AOKP shows H. Just try it out - if you don't like it, try another one of the many great ROMS.

Using pfittechs from its my favorite so far but I always try a lot before deciding so don't go just off my opinion. However it does have an H icon not H+ its aokp and gt-i9100 so you would have to hell raise.

To some people, yes
Shostock2 shows the H+ icon when transferring data then switches back to 3g when nothing is going on.

The rules here are ridiculous. I dont understand why I cant ask peoples opinions on ROMS? Seriosuly. I am so close to getting rid of this site, and make me regret purchasing the app for my phone. Second thread I have made where you get a mix of people who are WILLING to help and others who just act all high and mighty and throw around all these silly rules.

OMG, all i was asking was what peoples ROMS were - the ones they like.. I said I like the ROM i am using but only complaint was the 4g missing...wasnt asking how to fix it.

Dude that's what opinions are...opinions. ur gonna get so many different opinions and we don't know what ur needs are. Each rom fits each person differently the best answer is to flash them and try them. A lot easier on u to TRY OUT each rom and pick the one that's right for YOU!

I'm a new Galaxy S2 user. I am coming from the HTC Inspire (great phone, btw). So as the title suggests, is there a stock rom (or a ROM that is very close to stock) that has the capability to skip songs using the volume rocker? On the Inspire, I was running a ROM called SmartDroid that made the phone feel very stock but had this capability (I use my phone as an mp3 player all the time at the gym and when I am driving. It's very handy if I can just hold the volume button to change to the next song).
I've done lots of searching and found the Jkay Deluxe framework. Would this work on a stock rooted ROM? I found it in the Galaxy S2 i9100 section and wasn't sure if it would work with the i777.
Currently, I am running AOKP and love this feature...however, there are just some things from the stock ROM that I would prefer.

You are a moron, he didn't ask what rom you thought was good, he asked about a feature of a rom. I'm also interested in a constructive answer by someone other than the forum nazis. Roms are not a personal preference, they are a collection of features and customizations that people can ENJOY as a personal preference, but a feature of a particular rom is a fact, not an opinion.
OP good luck finding your answer, that feature is also helpful to my phone needs and if i find one, i will post it here

The only ROM that I know is AOKP, not sure about the TW ones. Try asking your question on a TW ROM thread, you will probably get a quicker answer

Second this question as I came from iPhone with activator.
Any ROM or application with the capability to fully customize hardware buttons would be incredible as I think that's one significant thing iPhone jailbreaking has over Android for sure.

There is a huge range of games from racing to shooting. You can also root and install custom ROMs if you are bored of your current one. You should actually go and search about user reviews instead and not posting a thread here. But yeah, S2 is great I have been using it for a year now.

You might not like the same things others like. Instead of asking people for help in thinking, why don't you download some games/apps/whatever from the Play Store and try them out yourself? That way you can form your own opinion. (if you are capable of doing so)

All anyone has to do is open the Themes and Apps section here and scroll once, maybe twice. If you have eyes and can read, you will find what you are looking for.

The problem is that he can't read, can't listen, and keeps ranting over easily fixable issues like his battery life. He is simply trolling. He used to be on the HTC Amaze forums and caused us a bunch of problems. He even had a duplicate account called avenged_sevenfold27 or something that got banned. There is no way a person can be like this in real life.
Best not to feed these types of trolls!
Also, my advice to him is to stop buying and rooting androids and just buy an IPHONE. (Yes I said it.) He won't get any problems because he'll be spoon fed into apple's ecosystem and everything will still work out of the box. Giving (cr)apple products are the solution to clueless, tech-illiterate people.
