Set Gmail as default email? - HTC Droid DNA

So is anyone else having a problem setting gmail as the default email? When I set up my exchange mail it set is as the default email. Any HTC phone i've had always asked the first time I would try and email some one what app I wanted to be my default.
Any idea?

Found it under App associations....

[Q] Exchange Calendar Sync (no e-mail)

Hello guys,
I would like to know if there is a way to have my exchange calendar sync with my X10 calendar without the need to have the e-mails sync.
Tks.
turn off app sync, and you'llg have to manual tap calendar sync in sync, when you edit your calendar. personally, I just delete the gmail app, and use the email app and change the auto retrieve settings through there

Hi khakhi,
If you go to the e-mail app, under the account settings, set the "Inbox check frequency" to Never.
On the Calendar, you can set the Exchange Calendar to be visible and syncronized, going to the More -> Calendars .. There you can see all your calendars, including the exchange one.
Cheers,

[Q] Push mail not possible in HTC gmail?

In the gmail app, whenever I get mail, I will get a notification instantly. I wonder, is this same thing possible for gmail within the HTC mail app? Because that app is so much better looking and easier to use..
HTC Mail app is a pull app not a push app. The only way to get instant notification is if you have sync set to sync every minute which of course would drain your battery in about an hour.

Ah damn that sucks. Why couldn't HTC just skin the gmail app as well..
I actually get push mail through the htc app. I had to set it up manually. Setup like an exchange account put M.google.com. for your domain. Works for me

It works but is it safe to uninstall gmail?

I used to use this on my windows phone to get push gmail back in the day. I don't think its okay to delete the gmail app itself though. I just turned the notifications off for it so I don't get double notified and turn the sync off for it.

[Q] Gmail won't synchronize

Hello.. My gmail app doesn't synchronize like before. I click on synchronization button on the screen and i don't receive any email notification. I need to go the Gmail app and click the synchronization button from there to receive my email. What is the problem?
Just go to settings>accounts>Google account>make sure gmail is ticked for auto syncing.
