I just want to know if it's possible to change the boot logo (NOT boot animation) on CM7 cause I don't really like the "Free Xperia Project" logo, at least not the one from this version, I have to say the boot logo of the CM9 is pretty nice, but I really want to change the boot logo for the original one, the one from Sony, but I don't want to change the kernel, I'm using the default one that comes with the rom (cm7) Is it possible to do that?

You have to unpack the kernel, there you should be able to
Yeah, there was somewhere a tutorial for how to do this.
Just search for it.

It's the stock Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) boot animation. If you load a custom AOSP ROM, like CM7, and go into system/media and delete the CM7 specific boot animation, then it boots with the stock "Android" boot animation.
Hi, simple question and im sure u have heard it a lot
I recently did the whole xrecovery thing and have successful made
a nandroid backup, whoohoo.
Now im trying a simple thing like installing a custom boot animation.
So first i see a animation here on xda tht i like, make sure its for fimware/build number
2.1/2.1.A.0.435 , then download the .zip file. I picked this one:
http://www.4shared.com/file/BJrGIdCY/bootanimation.html
Then place it in the folder i made for boot animations.
Then go in recovery mode and go to "install custom zip",
Select the zip file and confirm installation.
The only thing is, when i then reboot, the stock animation is still there.
AM I DOING SOMETHING WRONG?????
That's not a flashable zip. You have to use root explorer and replace the existing bootanimation.zip located at /system/media or /local/media can't remember exactly since it has been a while. Check this link:

Cool, thx tht works. I can now switch between stock ani and custom ani.
However the two diffrent custom ani i tried, both dont look like they should, all tht comes up on screen after white sony ericsson writing is a blue-ish, geen android word, with a light flashing over it.
The one i want to install is an angry penguin with a gun who shoots holes in the screen.
Suppose im getting closer, smh???

Don't worry about it. At least you know how to do it now and it's just a matter of getting the correct zip. Google XDA BOOT ANIMATION X10 and you should see quite a few xda threads. Happy hunting!!

This means that it didn't work. This is the stock android boot animation. Even if you delete bootanimation.zip it will show this anim. You most probably did not set correct permission. You need to copy the bootanimation.zip to /system/media and change the permissions to:
X X _
X _ _
X _ _
using root explorer or something equivalent.
His last post already confirmed that it worked.

Thank you to both of u, i clicked thanks at each thread, hope that helps. I got the cool boot ani with the linux penguin shooting holes in the screen. Awesomeness to whoever made it
A custom boot animation I made for our device
Hope you enjoy it! :fingers-crossed:
The idea was to make a sort of retro type neon sign on a carbon fiber board. It has since deviated a little, but I like it that way.
Bootup animation:
bootanimdx.zip - 25.28 MB(I know, its pretty big for a boot animation )
Shutdown animation: (If ROM Supports it)
bootdowndx.zip - 2.94 MB
You'll need to rename them depending on your ROM.
(Ask if you need any help installing)
Dwonanimation works , but bootanim doesnt work xD on me.
PS
Nope..The problem is in me...The ROM restores the original files by himself.

Hello,
Recently i purchase a xperia Z2, i rooted it and change que boot animation (very easy) but the trouble is changing que bootscreen/bootlogo (SONY image in white and background black)
I made it in Xperia Z and S but if i overwrite the logo.rle in the ramdisk in boot.img and flash it in fastboot mode it steel show the oficial image and no the one i write. The really funny thing is that if i extract the boot image and see in it's ramdisk the logo.rle is the one i write but never shows it.
If someone knows about this, please help me, i'm becaming crazy because it'sw not logical.
Thanks and sorry for my very bad english.
You have to force it to display above ths sony bootsplash
See doomkernel commits V7 on github

Ok, thanks
Change bootscreen/bootlogo (logo.rle) DONE
Finally i download the kernel source code for 23.0.1.A.0.167 and made a little change to simply display the logo, and it worked. But the SONY image shows initially then the logo.rle and finally the boot animation, i think the SONY image it can't be skipped.
Thanks.

Its not a kernel change, its from before the kernel.
Even if this is quite old but it helped to find the trigger - Must be this commit if i'm not mistaken:

Hi guys,
Bring to ya my mod with Boot Logo and Boot Animation from newest Google Pixel phone.
Here you can view how the mod work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a7xoh_m2gkc
Just normal flash through TWRP.
Sorry my english.
Pretty cool. I know this is the stock Pixel bootup but any chance you'd release a version with a black background?
Thank you very much, It is what I so much wanted.
May we have it with dark background?
I flashed the boot animation on my XT1093 running MM and the "bouncing color balls" and the "G" at the end fill the whole screen.... (Something wrong with the scale?)

I have the same issue...
Any idea how to add ok google sound with it ??
Could someone fix the problem of bootanimation? I can not find any animation that matches the bootlogo.
I use ResurrectionRemix 5.8.0 (Nougat 7.1.1) and I had no problems with Logo/bootanimation made by thewerthon, they look great!
The only thing I'd like is to get them in true black background.
I'd be awesome, since I already patched the whole interface with SwiftBlack Theme+Substratum.
Thanks thewerthon!!
Black background
Hi, i made a blacked version of it.
It's not perfect, but anyway...
I can't post links, yet. PM me if you want it. :good:
