Your step by step is found in the op of the rom. That should be enough for u. Also... Stay away from gs2root and never go back to it ever again

have you read anything on this site? you have been instructed what to do, where to go, and literally the last thing we could do for you is hold your damn hand.....
flash back to stock and read.

also, having multiple threads open for the same issue is dumb, rude, and completely unproductive.

Can you get your phone into either download or recovery mode ??
Please provide more details like:
Which rom/kernel?
What all did u do that ended in bricking?
Able to enter Recovery or Download modes?
New to android flashing and stuff?

i can enter download mod ... but when tried to flash stock rom .. odin stuck on setup connection !!!
and no i cant enter recovery or boot normally .. i flashed a worng recovery file by odin and this is how the problem happened
thanx 4 replying
i am not new to flashing with odin my friend .. its just i flashed files of l1900 instead of l9100g
Mistaking an I9100G ROM for a I9100 ROM is not an honest mistake.
If you don't consider yourself new to this at least double check your files and triple check xda's threads.

Ok....so you're sayin' that you checked xda and all users with a similar issue than yours could get to recovery mode?
You need to check your "searching" concept.
Of course, it's not your fault samsung released a device with a letter at the end, that is just common sense. Care to flash HTC one ROM into an HTC one x? I mean, it's the same right, who cares about the letter at the end.......
If you look up closely...you'll see that I was trying to help you, to read and learn before you go on borking is a hell of an advice if you'd ask me.
my dear u still dont get it ... my download mod is not the typical download mod ... my screen only shows "a cellpohne connected to a pc with triangle in the middle of the connection" ... when i "searched" on XDA ... i found out that such a screen is also a download mod .. but not the typical one ... and i think it useless since every time i try to flash some rom with odin it stuck on setup connection
and by the way its huuuuge difference between htc one and the htc one x ... they have different shapes
any way this is not our subject ... i really do appreciate your help and any help so much .. i mean this thread was created to help people right
thank u so much
regards
You are in forced download mode, so your device is begging you to flash something. When you get that screen plug your phone to the PC and flash a I9100 stock ROM.
In order for your pc to see the device reinstall kies and kill all applications before you start flashing.
Doesn't work?
Try another PC.

Mate.
RR is a 4.2.2 ROM which is based on AOSP or AOKP (not sure which)
The latest siyah for s2 only support samsung based ROMs which are at the moment 4.1.2
This one is on you for not reading sorry
This kernel is only for Samsung JB ROM

I'm not very good when it comes to this, but if you're absolutely sure you can't access CWM Recovery or download mode - then i suspect hardbrick.
Which is quite odd, since i had flashed (about a year ago) a jelly bean ROM when i was on ICS - and all i got was bootloop.

No life out of the phone there isn't much you can do. Service centre = replace motherboard, or do it yourself with a 2nd hand one. Either way, you won't be recovering the data if you didn't back it up.

To make things clear, you could only reboot it once? Does it turn on now?? Or is it completely lifeless?
Have you tried connecting a USB Jig mate?

Try a factory reset first. If that doesn't help, upgrade to JB. Don't forget to backup your stuff though.

Hi.
I have been looking through the forum, and can't seem to find a proper solution for my problem.
My sisters boyfriend owns a SGS2 i9100, and as far as I can tell, it's bricked. When turned on, the SGS2 logo shows, and then just goes black. Waited 10mins, nothing. He says he did't do anything, all he did was changing the battery, he bought the extended one.
Now the problem is - he really needs to get the data off the phone! He has some work-related stuff on it (notes, pictures, etc...) he needs asap...
I can get into recovery and download mode, I already installed CWM (GT-I9100_JB_ClockworkMod-Recovery_6.0.2.9.tar) but I fear I flashed the wrong one, because he told me AFTER flashing, that his SG2 was running on android 2.4.x...
I tried mounting emmc and internal sdcard, but my PC wont detect it, so I could copy the data off it...
The phone is not rooted and runing on stock ROM.
Any ideas how to get the data out?
tnx for all your help & replys in advance, I hope someone can help, would appreciate it.
Merry christmas to all

If you can root and flash CWM, then you can try entering recovery and making a nandroid backup. Then extract its contents using apps meant for the same.

Hey, good point! I'll try that, thanks!
Will report
If the phone actually is bricked & you don't end up being able to get it working normally, you have no chance of recovering data from it.
@immortalneo
I made a nandroid backup from CWM and saved on PC... I have all the data, tnx!
Next question is - where (in all those "data" and "system" files), can I find his notes, that were saved in the stock notes app? I'm searching through the files and can't seem to find it
Tnx again man
Flash the same rom that was flashed before the brick.
Then install titanium backup pro and use "extract from nandroid backup" and find the app you want to restore and restore just DATA.Restart the phone and that's it.
I've been doing this for a long time now, restoring sms mesages, notes, game saves....

Tnx, that wasn't necessary I just tried flashing CF-root via Odin, and the phone booted just fine, just did a factory reset
Then I just imported the missing files from nandroid backup into the new, fresh stock rom (tnx for this one man!) and we're good to go.
Man I really love and appreciate XDA, people don't realize what good men (not to mention developers, etc...) we have here. I hope you all realize how gratefull we are for all your work, help and efforts.
